  1. Hi , I was "sleeved" 4 months ago , 29th August. So far I've lost around 56-58 pounds. Since beginning I couldnt walk to much or exercise cause of the pain in the right side - where liver amd gallbladder are. Talked to my surgeon and did some bloodwork - everything seemed normal. Surgeon suggested to stay of working out and just walk. Last 2 weeks I had intens pain so I ended up doing an ultrasound to se what the hell is wrong.Of course gallbladder stones were to blame and there wasn't any surprise there. Another thing poped up - I suddenly have a hemangioma on my liver that wasn't there before surgery. It is 4 x 3 cm . I'm scheduled to remove gallbladder in one month. Right now I'm not sure is it the cause of pain because it isn't food related - I don't eat eggs - allergic, I don't eat greasy or spicy food , etc. I feel pain when I walk , try to exercise or do any activity for longer time. Please any kind of advices pr experience is more than welcome. Thanks [emoji4] Selena Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

    Health issues after surgery

My surgeon said just to track it. I have an appointment next week with him I know a lot about it - usually it is a congenital and affects women more cause of estrogen Fact one - I didn'thave that hemangioma on my liver before surgery - radiologist said " it looks like it but I'm not sure" Fact two - gb is "calm" - no signs of inflammation or stone movement and medications given doesn't help with the pain So I'm thinking to ask for a CT scan to check what is really going on inside The reason for a month wait is to give chance to "calm" down and to do a pre op tests The pain itself isn't intense but constant and boring and it hurts more when I move more - it feels like when your muscles are in pain after a run ... It gets sharper when I move around more I'm just worried ... don't want to go on a surgery if they aren't sure what the problem really is , you know .. Thanks for finding time to answer 😘

    So completely confused

I can't really help with first part - regarding the open surgery.I had a tough surgery lasted almost 4 hours cause some complications. I did feel the same way first 10 - 15 days Also had trouble with controling bowell movement I was on liquids for 4 weeks and understan you well in that mater Also had issues with "feeling" and knowing when I'm hungry. I honestly think you have been trough a lot and you must give your body time to heal specialy cause it was an open surgery. Recovery is longer , harder I had laparoscopic surgery and had a lot of difficulties with moving around - like you said walk for few min and felt like I've been runing a marathon [emoji28] Give yourself time and keep in touch with surgeon and your medical team Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

My surgeon told me the same thing [emoji4] I guess I was just scared and emotional in general . Thanke you so much for explaining. It makes sense that it has to close from inside out . I'm just scared of infections and complications . You helped a lot [emoji8] Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

    central venous catheter before vsg

Drains were and still are the worst part of all this . Just today I was freaking out - I have holes in those places and it is ****** scary [emoji43][emoji33] but my surgeon was helpful and explained everything so I'm much calmer right now . Recovery is good except these incisions. Thanks for nice wishes [emoji8] Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

    central venous catheter before vsg

Well not really sure about guidelines. I was admitted to hospital and anesthesiologist came and checked me once more - and decided not to go with central line. He said I have good and useable veins. I was receiving a bundle of liquids and medications for first 3 days . Most important everything went well Now heading to healing [emoji4] Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

Just for notice [emoji6] They didn't put central line - my veins were good [emoji4] I had two draining tubes - not sure is that common I'm healing well in 4 incision sites But those two places where drains were are not quite good ... Hoping to resolve that soon [emoji4] Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

Well my surgeon requested diet woth calorie intake 1200 - as long as I stayed in that range I can eat anything I want But cause of easier calorie counting I'm in a full liquid diet with one meat - low or no carbs meal Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

Honestly , I hope too . Thanks - any experience means a lot I will ask my surgeon is it really necessary or not Of course - you must feel the line going in ... There is a bundle of complications connected with central line but I'll hope for the best Thanks Mikeyy [emoji8] Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

    central venous catheter before vsg

I know [emoji6] is it weird that I'm scared more of placing central line than I'm scared of surgery it self ? I haven't had any surgery at all so don't really know what to expect Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

    central venous catheter before vsg

Yes , that is central line that goes to the heart . Obviously it doesn't kill because it enters the vein and it doesn't cut your carotid artery [emoji5] it goes in jugular is subclavial vein [emoji5] I'll let you know what and how it ended Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

    central venous catheter before vsg

Oh I know why and which is the use of central line.. I know it is usually placed in to jugular vein or subclavial vein I was just worried about potential infections and I haven't seen a lot of bariatric patients having it ... Thanks for sharing I know obese people have that issue with veins - hard to reach or they pull back or simply having thin veins Hoping for the best and of course I'll let you guys know what happened [emoji854] Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

    central venous catheter before vsg

Thanks Your experience means a lot I'm guessing that my surgeon is just being carefull and wants to avoid unnecessary search for the veins of they pull back Did you have any issues with the c.line - infection or something like that and was it hard for you when they placed it ? Of course it is not the end of the world [emoji4] Thanks one more time m Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

    central venous catheter before vsg

Well if my surgeon considers that it should be placed - I won't disagree I'm worried about possible infection but I won't have it for long so hope for the best I'll see whether he taught in ordinary iv path or on the central line Anyway I'll let you know when that happens [emoji4] Regarding the showering and special antibacterial soap - I don't know what is the protocol in this hospital We will see what is going to happen [emoji854] Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

    central venous catheter before vsg

Thanks [emoji4] I just haven't seen it often with other patients so it was just curiosity I guess my doctor has a reason for that decision I was kind of worried about placing but hope everything goes well with both I sure will let you guys know what happened with that [emoji854] Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

    SCARED OUT OF MIND!!!

Yep, I know [emoji23] This is just me - being foolish [emoji854] It sounds funny even to me but it is one think I do think about [emoji846] sure thing they are equipped to deal with obese patients . Your answers make me realise how funny my fears are [emoji7] thanks Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app

    SCARED OUT OF MIND!!!

My surgery is 30th August and I'm not scared of surgery itself I'm scared of anaesthetic and not waking up after [emoji28] Also I'm thinking about how the hell will they put me to surgical table or to bed after [emoji23] I'm heavy and huge [emoji23] I know it is safe procedure but fear is irrational [emoji4] Sent from my SM-J500FN using BariatricPal mobile app
