I am feeling really good today post surgery. After Initial pain for a couple of hours, I have been keeping all my water down and walking regularly and using the breathing thing. Going to try to get some sleep soon. But I will say the Toradol Really helped. Wish it was one of my prescriptions going home instead of Percocet. I was having trouble with a bit of pain with the water initially. After that shot I’ve had no problems all day. Anyone have a similar experience?

Surgery went really well. But I cannot lie. I got to go home today on the second day and my incisions are really hurting. It’s hard to get up and down at all. I am fine when standing. Or laying down but those times when you have to get up or excruciating. Hope it passes in a couple of days

Thank you. I am trying to stay off the pain medication. The Toradol is like a anti-inflammatory. Today the cuts are kind of hurting more than anything. Especially the bigger one. Hoping to get past this first few days. I know it will get better

It was chest stomach area. The water is all room temperature. It was definitely crampy. But the Toradol Definitely made a difference. Glad to hear your experience.

So I’ve been doing really well I am up today at day seven. Today. I have lost 16 lbs. Not really able to tolerate the protein shakes very well. But staying hydrated and drinking plenty of broth. But today I caved. I had one tater tot When making dinner for my family. Does anyone know if this would undo my vertical sleeve surgery? It’s not for another seven days so I’m hoping my body can flush it out. That’s been the hardest part other than the nasty shakes is making meals because I have children while still staying on liquid. I’m kind of beating myself up about it.

Thank you. And I keep reminding myself that. Which was why I was a little horrified when I slipped. I have been so very very on liquid. And I definitely want it to be safe. I’m just going to have to finish up quickly and get out of the room. Hoping this is easier after surgery

Struggling with shakes. My surgery center requires the new directions brand of shakes. Plus that you’re only allowed water, broth, and decaffeinated tea. I am struggling with the shakes which I have struggled with the entire time with the program for the six months. I just cannot get over the taste. They are horrible to me. And it doesn’t matter which Friday I have tried they are all just bad. She said to get in three a day. I am struggling to get one in a day. So today I went to the Japanese restaurant and I got three containers of the clear soup without vegetables. Let me tell you on day six it has been the most wonderful thing I’ve had in a long time. -
Pre-Op Diet Day 4 Struggling with shakes.

It's just the 2 weeks, was required to buy one box a week during 6 month diet which honestly I didn't do well with. The New Direction bars not so bad and chili was okay. The shakes though are horrid. I managed to choke down most of one of the lemon puddings with Fiber today then chase it with broth due to aftertaste. I think tomorrow I am going to try hunt down the Premier Protein locally because I feel like I am starving. I am making sure to get my water and liquids to not dehydrate but this is day 5 and hoping we get surgery date 8/26/19. My surgeon changed hospitals at the end of the 6 month diet so had to wait almost 2 months longer. Plus, still waiting on BC/BS with final approval which should happen by tomorrow since file was marked urgent. Then doctor order his instruments and not sure if they are in. So very stressful this journey. Thanks for all the advise! -

Thanks everyone. This has been some great advice. I know what they say but I wondered if there was a way around some of it. Because I’m telling you these powders are just yuck. I’m going to definitely try out some of the suggestions. Also, I’ve seen a lot of threats where a sugar-free popsicle here and there was OK? I asked my nutritionist and she specifically said again no. Something about not spiking your insulin. But I’m wondering if just one or two occasionally like on once a week would be OK? -
This is only my first day. All liquids in preparation for surgery. I had to make food all day for my kids and for my husband. I have to admit this is just harder than I even anticipated. And I know I still have 13 more days of this. I know it will be worth it but right now it’s difficult.
