  1. Sorry just seen this now. Yes they were happy with the weight gain. Month 9 I did gain another 8 pounds (my appetite went crazy) so 15 pounds total. Baby was 7 pounds healthy and perfect! By 2 weeks post partum my weight went back to pre pregnancy weight. But then the holidays came and I did gain about 10 pounds, so I would just say be careful after you give birth and try to continue healthy eating habits.

  3. I was also worried about gaining too much weight. I’m 4 years post vsg and 8 months pregnant. I’ve only gained 7 pounds the entire pregnancy. Nausea, acid reflux, and food aversions played a role in that. Plus, eating smaller portions due to the sleeve. We’ll see how it goes after I have the baby because I’d love to lose about 20 pounds.
  4. I am 25 weeks pregnant and was recently diagnosed with silent reflux. The ENT doc put me on Pepcid but it has not helped much. It only started when I became pregnant. I was sleeved in 2019. I had the exact lump in my throat even called 911 several times for feeling like I couldn’t breath until it was finally diagnosed. I feel for you. I hope things get better.
  5. Yes! It’s thicker and has a better flavor. To me it taste like “real” bbq sauce. I won’t buy the original sugar free one anymore. I thought the original was ok.
  6. This is waaayyy better than the original sugar free bbq sauce. It’s amazing!!!

    This Pre-op diet is a b$@!:

I was so fortunate my surgeon only required 2 days of clears. It was tough. The red white and blue popsicles were a life saver. Hang in there. You got this!

    Diet soda

Yes, maybe like 1-2 times a month. I don’t crave it like I did preop. I feel like if I wanted to, I can go without it. I also didn’t have my first drink of Diet Coke until I was 1 year out.

    Fruit

I do! But not a lot. Maybe 1-2 times a week. I had a small banana the other day for the first time in 6 months or so. I’m 1 year out. It made me soo full. I try to stick to the berries since they are lower in sugar. But I find I get full quick when eating fruit.
  10. Like many others I fell off with a 5 pound weight gain in the last couple months. I started meal prepping and have done extremely well the last few weeks. I noticed when I stopped meal prepping I did poor with my diet. Just throwing it out there for anyone struggling. My go to meals are eggs and turkey sausage scramble for breakfast. Lunch is a low carb tortilla wrap usually with turkey. Dinner has been baked chicken thighs and broccoli.

    Keto vs. No Keto

I am 1year 3 months post vsg. I’ve lost 70 pounds. I did low carb/keto for majority of it. I have 20 more pounds to go. I was losing very slow for month 11 and 12. I think I lost 3 pounds total for those 2 months. I never counted calories while on keto. I switched to a low calorie intake and have lost 2-3 pounds every week for the last month. My calorie intake ranges from 1000-1200 a day. I eat 4 small meals a day. Exercise. No snacking. I still use low carb tortillas and other lower carb foods. I just try and eat balanced and healthy. Hope this helps.
  12. This bbq sauce hits the spot!!
  13. https://youtu.be/lSBi_ecIw_Q Here is the link for the recipe. I use several of this you tubers recipes and they’ve all been sooo good!! Super easy to make too.
  14. That was totally me. Still a year post op and 70 pounds down I can “graze” all day I have to be careful. Sometimes I always feel hungry. Definitely talk to you nutritionist. I think it can be normal for some people. Sometimes it can be acid, which TUMS can help with that. Just make sure your getting in your protein and fluids. Maybe instead of apple juice drink a low calorie drink or water just to avoid extra calories. Hopefully you start solids soon. Some foods can be “sliders” and go down easily. I have to eat solid food to feel full longer. Hang in there.
  15. Omg so good! I’ve been trying new recipes. Im so board eating the same thing everyday. This was my dinner. This is a low carb short bread with whip cream, strawberries, and chocolate curls. No left overs. Gave my hubby the last 2 bites!
  16. Guacamole and homemade low carb tortilla chips. No left over! So delicious!!
  17. There are many factors that can contribute to this. Starting weight, height, age, gender just to name a few. I’m in my 30s and I ended up losing 70 pounds my first year. By week 10 I was only 27 pounds down :( I was a slow but steady loser. It really takes time to really see the progress. Just keep following your meal plan, drink your water, and cardio. The weight will fall off. For me what really helped was intermittent fasting. It’s a life changer. Look it up. It really helped me during my stalls. You will get there!!!!
  18. I still feel fat after 70 pounds down. My co workers always compliment me on how skinny and good I look but I still see a fat person in the mirror and it really messed with my confidence. I didn’t take measurements. I was just tired of counting calories, weighing in, etc for over a decade that I try not to let dieting weight loss rule my life like it once did. I’m hoping once at my goal of 175 I will see myself as thin. Maybe it’s a mental thing. I don’t know but I don’t see myself as thin yet.

I’ve always wanted??!! What are yours?

I’ve always wanted to “fit in” and be “normal”
  20. I totally understand what your going through. I am almost 1 year out and to be honest I cheated and craved stuff early post op. I am almost at my goal weight and I am doing great. Everyone’s journey is different. I personally don’t drink protein shakes. I hate them. My labs are perfect and my surgeon is ok with it. I would rather eat food then drink shakes. The weird thing with me is in the beginning of my journey I didn’t do so great. Now, I eat so healthy, my cravings are almost non existent. I eat to be healthy. Now I see it as a lifestyle. I guess when I had surgery I wasn’t ready for the shock of not eating things I used to, especially to cope. It really took me some time. By no means am I saying to cheat. I just want you to know you are not alone. A recipe I love is using a low carb mission tortilla, pizza sauce and what ever toppings you want for pizza. Put in oven and it’s delicious. Just try and be creative. Good luck!
  21. Pain was minimal, nausea was the worst.
  22. It’s the seasoning that you would use for an everything bagel without the bagel 🥯
  23. Daves Killer Bread, cream cheese, everything bagel seasoning, 1 egg and 2 slices of bacon. So bomb. Definitely a treat and no left overs 😋
