    December’s 2019 Sleevers!!!

I've been doing well. I am down 39lbs from surgery on 12/16. I'm down 59lbs total since July 2019 when I start on the journey. I know I'm a slow loser and some days that is a struggle. My clothes fit loose on me and I know I need to go shopping for a smaller size but with everything going on that's not going to happen soon.

    Menstruation

I have the opposite problem. I haven't had a period for the past 4 years (thanks to my IUD) and then all of a sudden I get it 3 weeks after surgery. I freaked out bc it's been so long since I've gotten a period. Hoping I go back to my normal soon.

You can still continue your protein water and shakes when you start eating real food. You won’t be able to tolerate a lot of food at one time and will probably still need to rely on the shakes. I had to do an extra shake yesterday to hit my protein.

    December 2019 Sleeves

My water intake has been my issue too. I also hit a stall and then lost another 5lbs and now I’m at another stall. I see my dr next week for my 6 week post op visit. I’m down 19lbs from surgery on 12/16. I don’t know if that’s good/bad/meh lol. I want to hear what my surgeon says. He didn’t really give me what he expects me to be at when I go back to see him and that’s giving me anxiety.

    December Surgery dates???

Hey @eporter!! I've been doing really good. I feel great, incisions are nicely healing. I started purees this week. That sucks that you still have to be on liquids. I thought I was going to die bc I just couldn't handle anymore liquids. I'm struggling to get in my 64oz of liquids. With the protein shakes I can hit my 60g. I do 4oz of french vanilla premier protein, 2 oz of fairlife skim milk, 1/2 scoop peanut butter powder and 1/2 scoop of unflavored protein and blend with ice. It tastes good and finally something not sweet! And that is 30g of protein right there in 6oz. The PB helps cut the sweetness which I'm so thankful for. I have the Optisource chewables and I don't like them either. I try and space out the 4 tabs threw out the day and take like 3-4 bites of the tab to finish it. That has helped because the first time i put the whole thing in my mouth to chew and that was so gross! I go back to work on Monday. I hope that will help me get back in a routine because at home I'm not doing much at all. We went to the zoo and the mall so got in lots of steps there and did good. When I bend over to pick up stuff is still uncomfortable. Have a Happy New Year everyone!!!

    December Surgery dates???

I think it varies per person. I was told to do 2-3oz per meal but I can't even get down 1oz sometimes. I'm 11 days post op. As long as you are not having any pain or discomfort I wouldn't worry.

Wow you are doing great! I'm 11 days out and can't hit 64oz of fluids. I hit it only 2x. Otherwise I'm about 48-50oz. As far as protein, I can only get in about 20g and that's 1 protein drink which takes me a couple hours to finish. I have only been doing water, or cucumber/lemon infused water. I talked to the office today as a phone check in and she said to just keep trying on focusing on water first before protein. You are rocking it though!

    Merry Christmas

Yes we did everything yesterday too and it was such a struggle not eating anything. I had about 1oz of very soft meat basically puréed with salsa to help moisten it and got very full. I ate that twice and was full. I have so many leftovers today it’s ridiculous. So much was food was already taken. Hoping my husband and kids eat through the food quickly.

    December Surgery dates???

Ballet was good. I was able to sit on their super plush couch which helped. I went straight home afterwards. When I get lightheaded I know it’s bc I haven’t drank enough fluids. It took 2 days of Miralax to finally have a BM. And boy was that difficult. I think I’ll continue Miralax one time daily just to keep things going. I’m barely able to get in my 64oz of fluids in. I felt it when I was walking around the store today. I had to sit down and wait while my hubby checked out. I found some PB powder to add to the protein drinks to start getting in my protein. How has your protein intake been if any lol

I’m over my liquid diet too! I did 2 weeks liquid preop and have 2 weeks liquids post op. I’m on full liquids so I’ve introduced yogurt which helped and then I did decaf coffee mixed with a little premier protein and a small but of sugar free chocolate pudding. I’m going to try a premier protein with PB powder scoop into it. I’ve barely begun to hit my 64oz daily and today so far have had about 15g of protein. I just want to chew! It’s cold where I live so popsicles or the such are a no go. I’ve also noticed I’m constantly freezing since surgery. I’ve never been this way before surgery.

    December Surgery dates???

I was driving by day 5. A short drive as I had to take my daughter to ballet class. Today I drove about an hour total to run errands. I only took Tramadol the day after I was discharge but have been on Tylenol 2 times a day which manages my pain very well. I have a 20lb weight restriction for 6 weeks. I’m 1 week out from surgery.

    Hungry!

I'm tired of liquids right now lol. I can't wait to get to pureed! I'm having issue with texture right now. I know I can have super soft fish and chicken and eggs and at least I'll be able to chew. How long are you on pureed?

    Weight Loss Post-op

That is a great loss! That is 20lbs!!! Don't be disappointed at all in yourself. You are doing AMAZING!
  14. I was achey afterwards as well. Had VSG on 12/16. I'm truly happy I found this site because there is so much info available pre and post op.

    Missing you

I'm 5 days post op and am so over everything liquid. I had a 2 week preop liquid diet. I'm on full liquids until 2 weeks post op. I just need something/anything textured and more flavor! I can't wait until the pureed stage!!!! I want tuna, chicken or egg salad and some super soft veggies with seasoning. I would love any suggestions!!
