    December Surgery

They gave me my binder at my first surgeon visit and I completely forgot I still have to see anesthesia. I'm trying to balance all my appts between work and school. I want to go out and have a few of my favorite foods before my preop diet begins. Nothing crazy but since I won't be eating them for a long time. I just don't want to gain any weight before I go back to see the surgeon. I've been maintaining since my last visit which was 1 month ago.

    December Surgery

My preop diet appt is next Wednesday with the dietician. But then I have to go back to see the surgeon on 12/4 because he's out of town right now due to the holiday. I wish it could all be done together

    December Surgery dates???

    I'm December 16th for VSG
  5. I didn’t have any issues with Aetna and was approved next day!
  6. Yay a surgery date twin!!! I just told my coworkers that I’ll be out for surgery. I do not want to tell anyone what I’m having done, but one of my coworkers found out. Now she is super passive aggressive because she’ll have to cover me while I’m out. I wish she wouldn’t have found because now it’s just annoying having to deal with her. My surgeon says I can return to work in 2-3 weeks after surgery.

Changes "Up Top:" What Helped You Most?

I can relate @Msmocha!!! I am a B cup mainly at times I can fit some C cups. I've always had issues with my chest not filling out the larger size shirts I need. I'm wondering how mine will change after surgery. I'm scheduled for 12/16
  8. that's amazing you and your spouse will be doing it so close together!

    December 2019 Sleeves

Congrats @amybutterfly!! I'm glad to find others that are going to be in December too!
  10. I have my surgery scheduled for 12/16 and I’m trying to cut out foods. This past week I did horrible and I had family that flew in from Mexico and all they do is feed you! And since I haven’t seen them in years I said yes to everything. Now I have regrets because I’m up a few lbs. I still need to go to see the dietician and surgeon for final visit before surgery. I’ll be on a 2 week liquid diet with protein shakes. I don’t want to go back to my appts and they see I’ve gained weight. I want to at least maintain.

    December 2019 Sleeves

Yay congrats! We will be having surgery the same week! I’m nervous it being right before the holiday. I have 3 kids and I don’t want to spoil their Xmas if I’m not feeling well. I feel most nervous about my immediate post op recovery.

Can you elaborate what the hardest part was? Was it pain wise or the liquids/food

    December 2019 Sleeves

I got the call earlier today that my surgery date will be 12/16!!! I have to go in and get the info for my preop liquid diet.
  15. Just got my surgery date for 12/16!!! I’m so nervous and excited at the same time lol
  16. @misskelly81 I am going to request my surgery for 12/16 as well. My insurance approved the surgery and it only took 4 days for the approval! Waiting for them to call me to go back and get my preop instructions.
  17. I had all my information sent to the insurance company and looking at the beginning of December as well!!!
  18. Hi Everyone, I have finally made the leap to go forward with weight loss surgery!!! I am in month 2 out of 4 of the process. I need 4 months of continuous weight management by my physician along with the multitude of tests in order to submit approval to my insurance. Once that is completed they will give me my surgery date. I’m estimating December. I’m really hoping to get early December as I don’t want to miss a semester of school, which starts mid January, if I’m still recovering. I will be getting a VSG. My dr has me on Saxenda right now (it’s a daily injection that suppresses appetite) to give me a weight loss boost before surgery. I’d love to connect with anyone that has recently started the process! I’d appreciate any tips, encouragement and making new buddies regardless of when surgery was/is!!!

    Nervous about revision

PPIs can be taken as lifelong medication and the effectiveness should not wear off. You have to determine what is best for you and not rush into anything if you feel you haven’t made a good decision yet.

    Newbie prepping for surgery

I’m trying to start a couple things now. Eating slowly and chewing food really well, taking smaller bites, and starting to avoid sugars. I want to get use to some of these habits so I don’t struggle after surgery. I also started to workout 1-2 times a week.
