  1. Happy 54th Birthday sandyp!

  2. Happy 53rd Birthday sandyp!

  3. I make low carb cheesecake about once a week. My doc has me on 30 carb grams or less per day, so I gotta make each little carb count. Cheesecake works out to 2 grams per 1/12th of 9" cake. I top with canned whipped cream for 1 more carb. I use splenda and a liquid sucralose called sweetzfree. Bulk splenda has 24 grams per cup so you have to use sparingly. I make the Philadelphia "classic cheesecake" recipe (on line at Kraft) but omit sugar and use 3/4 c splenda and about 1/4 teaspoon sweetzfree (on line), I change up the vanilla for orange extract or sometimes coconut and rum extracts.
  4. Don't have a clue how to post to this site!! Pardon me. Wanting to know if hiatal hernia repair with the lap band surgery is normal. Surgeon repaired my "monster" size hernia that gave me no problems at all. Is this typical? Must it be repaired to place the band? Info please!!! And someone tell me how to operate on this site please.
  5. Does anyone know if hiatal hernias must be repaired when placing a lap band? Doc said mine was "monster" size, but I had no symptoms. I'm just curious to know what is Normal (?!)

    What Vitamins to take!

Don't see any mention of chewable vitamins specifically made for lap band patients. I'm taking "Bariatric Advantage" Vita Band-watermelon flavor. Available online @ Bariatric Advantage - Nutritional Supplements, Vitamins, Proteins, and Help for Gastric Bypass, Distal, Lap Band, Realize, Stomaphyx and Duodenal Switch Surgery Patients. I'm programming my mind to think of them as "dessert", think it will work?
