Pre op diet and cheating
brandimichellexo replied to brandimichellexo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@KarenLR75 Even thought I didn’t ace my pre op diet, I quit caffeine, smoking and soda. Quit fast food, and overall bad choices I used to make. I’m happy. I went back and check my abdomen scan and my surgeon didn’t post any concerns and my liver was normal size. Despite my size, I don’t have diabetes, high blood pressure or anything either. I’m 24, so I guess age is on my side. My family keeps reassuring me I’ll be okay. I worry about every little thing. Thanks for the prayers ♥️ will keep posted. -

Pre op diet and cheating

@KarenLR75 my BMI is 54.7 I believe so pretty high. My surgeon hasn’t mentioned anything to me about calling it off due to the size of my liver or anything. I do have “Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease” which I believe most morbidly obese people have. Mine is mild if I remember correctly. Either way, I will do better and hope everything works out on Monday. If we could give up food that easy, no one would be big and there would be no need for weight loss surgery. It’s a tool to help with smaller portions, which lead to healthier choices.... eventually, no or minimum bad cravings. So, I don’t try to beat myself up too bad. I’m sure surgeons realize that people will cheat. How can we not? If you don’t, please share some will power :) -

September 9th here for gastric bypass!! Hoping everyone has a safe surgery and fast recovery 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 -
Is anyone using any firming cream or lotion for loose skin? If so, what is the best? They’re are so many options and some are quite expensive. Of course, money isn’t much of a concern if it’ll actually help. Thanks in advance ☺️

Loose skin
brandimichellexo replied to brandimichellexo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to lose a lot of weight. About 150 lbs. I’m 24 (as of yesterday) though so maybe age will be on my side. Fingers crossed -
My surgery is Sept 9th and I’m so scared! Like I’m very excited to start this new beginning in my life but I’m also scared of dying and complications. I’ve never had surgery before. And yes I’m a little dramatic. Did anyone else have this problem? So super scared.

My surgeon has me on a 2 protein shakes a day and a lean cuisine in the evening. 100 calorie snacks in between meals (low carb). How much weight did you guys lose on the pre op diet? And what type of diet did y’all have?

My surgery date is September 9th!!!! Good luck to you!! -
So, I’m supposed to start my pre op diet on August 26th but I’m not going to lie.... I have been living my fat girl life and put on some weight. I wanted to start my pre op early, as in tomorrow. Maybe not as intense, but definitely start getting used to my protein shakes and smaller portions. Do you guys think that’s okay? I know the whole reason of the diet is to reduce the size of your liver, I don’t want that to affect it. What do y’all think?

I’m 24 and weight 335 lbs. my surgeon and nurse both told me that I wouldn’t have skin and if I did, it would be a small amount. I have an extremely hard time believing them considering how big I am. It’s not a main concern but it does bother me a little. I’m actually driving myself a little nuts with this 🙄🙄
