what is the difference between the Wi Console and the Wii Fit
-
Have any of you checked amazon.com on the internet for the WiiFit. I found some yesterday for $139.00. Not sure exactly what it all entailed, but it might be a start for you. I was looking just because I had heard ya'll talking about them and that's what I found. Hope this helps.

Kerry 50, The 30 lbs must be a Dr thing. I am tricare also and when I decided I wanted the LB, I went to see the surgeon (after my own Dr agreed), the next week I saw the nutritionist, and two weeks later I had my surgery. The surgeon waived the Psyco exam. and I had taken with me to my first appt the information of all the diff diets I had tried over the years. I also have diabetes, high BP. So maybe you wont have to wait as long as you think. My surgery was may 21, 2008 and I have lost 45 lbs. Good luck to you. -
Hi everybody, It's been a few months since I last posted, but decided it was time to update. I've been reading all the posts ref portion size and I agree that quality out weighs quantity for sure. My Dr and nutritionist says, get that protein first, then your vegs, then the starches. I have had 3 fills now and feel that I am finally at my "sweet spot". I had my surgery May 21, 2008 and have now lost 44 lbs. It is coming off averaging 8-10 mth. Seems slow, but hey, I didn't put it on overnight either. All of you, keep up the good work. If this ole 64 year old can do this, I know ya'll can too.:wink2: Linda

Flowers: You have really had a bad month. But don't give up. You are not alone, referring to noone noticing the weight loss. I also have lost 45 lbs, since my banding in May. It was just yesterday that someone asked me if I had lost some weight. It does get discouraging, but I'm not going to give up. I myself am just now really noticing the difference. I actually have a waist, and a cave in on each side of the belly (lol). I still have a long way to go, but I keep telling myself that I didn't put this weight on over night, so I know it's not going to go away that quick. So, just hang in there, and you will reep your rewards. Hoping this next month will bring you smiles and no more hurricanes. Linda -

Hi lapbandana: You make me envious! I had my surgery 5-21-08 and as of 1 Oct I had lost 40 pounds. I thought I was doing great. But now a little disappointed. Have you lost all the weight since your surgery, or some while waiting? I had my 3d fill on the 1st of Oct and I can really feel the restriction this time. In fact, I am having a hard time with PBing. I really believe it is my chewing and maybe not taking small enough bites that is causing the problem. There are many things I can eat with no problem, but having a hard time with chicken and anything that has alot of fiber to it. I still have alot of learning to do. lol. Anyway, congrats on your big loss. Linda -

Janet, thanks for the advice. I went to my surgeon today and I was shocked. According to his scales, I had lost 3 lbs since the 4th of Aug. But I did talk to a registered nutritionist yesterday and she told me the same thing you did. I had no idea that not getting enough protein would make me retain water. She told me 60 gms protein is what I needed. My carbs and calories are fine. I check those faithfully. I am not getting quite as much exercise as earlier (no more water aerobics) pool closed, darn it!!!!!!, but am starting to walk abit more, if the ritus brothers will leave me alone. lol.(You know....Art and Burt?) lol. Anyway, I got a fill today and go back in a month. The Dr did say that he felt I had lost more, but the water was holding the scales at a stand still. Tomorrow, a new day, more protein, more walking and careful with the carbs. Thanks again. Linda -

Well, how about giving me some advice. I sure need it. My dr took half my water pill, half of my blood pressure meds and half of my sugar meds from me two weeks ago and I'm feeling fine. But, I am retaining lots of water. So she told me to increase my protein. But I have gained 5 lbs in a week. How did I do it and and how do I lose it now. Is it water weight? I was only getting about 30-40 gms of protein a day and the rest was carbs and fruits. Help me please. I go to ssee my surgeon tomorrow and when he sees I havent lost only maybe a pound, hes gonna have questions and I wont know how to ans. HELP ME. lINDA -

Boy, are you lucky! I got on my scales this morning and it said I gained 5 lbs. Boy, was I upset. But I talked with my nutrishinist (?) this morning after getting over the shock and she told me that more than likely I am retaining some water because my water pill has been cut in half by my DR and also, after evaluating my eating habits, I have not been getting enough protein. I didn't know that if you didnt get enough protein that water leaves your cells and makes you swell and retain water. (I think that's basiclly how she explained it). I sure hope she's right. Anyway, getting my act together, gonna eat more protein, drink lots of water and PRAY!!!!!!! Maybe next week will be better. -

Sue, this has nothing to do with the band web site, but when I saw your name, I was wondering if you ever lived in upstate NY. I went to school with a girl with the same name. Of course it was a year or two ago. lol. Just curious. I'm fortunate I can even remember back that far. Linda -
As you will notice by the replys on here you will hear over and over how different the doctors are. I was put on clear liquids for 1 wk, then, creamed liquids for 2 wks, pureed for 2 wks then soft foods for the next 2. After that regular diet. The purpose of the liquid diet and soft diet is to give your stomach a chance to heal, and the swelling to go down. This gives the band the chance to bond or scar tissue to hold band in place. If you start eating normal diet or to large amts, the band may slip or you could stretch the small pouch which is now your "new" stomach. My dr never told me how much to eat after surgery. He said it was a time for healing, not losing, even tho you do lose some. You will be in what we call "Bandsters Hell" until you start getting your fills. But, be patient, drink that protein and try some creamed soups, cream of wheat with lots of milk, and you will be fine. I don't pretend to know it all, but I have asked the same questions as you and these folks on here are always willing to help. Good luck and keep us posted on how your doing. Linda

My nutritionist suggested I get the "Proteinex-18" liquit protein. I get it at the drug store and it has no fat, sugar, sorbitol, carb or Phosphorus. All u have to do is shake, put a TBL in a drink, (I drink the K2O flavored lemonade) and mix. You cant taste it, and would never know you had added anything to the drink. You should use 2 TBL a day. There is 72 calories in 2 TBL and 18 gr of protein. Hope this helps someone. Oh, yes, it comes in 2 flavors, I like the Lemon Lime. Linda -

Hey PJ, boy I think we all love our bread! I have no problem. I dont eat it often, just because of carbs etc, but I just finished a sloppy joe and had no problem. I've had two fills and do have a good restriction, just very fortunate that I havent had a problem with anything getting stuck. As the reply before mine says, everyone is different, just take it slow. Linda -
Hi Ladies, Welcome to Band Heaven. I was banded May 21st in Anniston, by Dr. Black. Really a good Dr. I have had two fills, and have lost 36 pounds at last count. I only weigh once a week now, because my weight varys on a daily basis. So, I weigh on Sundays and that is it. lol. I was on liquids for 2 wks, pureed for 2 wks then soft for 2 wks. Then on to reg diet. My nutiritionist and Dr both recommend eat protein first then your carbs. You are in what we call "Bandsters Hell" until u get your first fill. (Hungry all the time) But believe me, after you start getting the fills, you are great. Just have to fight the head hunger. I have a 14cc band and on my first fill I got 2.5cc. Four wks later got 2.cc. I go back to Dr on 3 Sep for next checkup. Dont know if I will get a fill then or not. I still have restriction from the last one. I am able to eat about 3-4 oz of hard protein, and 1/2to 1 cup veg and a small salad at a meal. Have cut out the carbonated drinks and most sugar. Just remember that this band is a tool and not a miracle and you all will do great. If you go to some of these other forums on this web site, you will get so much info, you'll feel like you get to know the people. Good luck to you all. And remember, if this ole 64 year old granny can do this thing, so can you. Linda

Phyllser, I noticed you said you are tricare for life. But I also noticed your profile shows you are 64 yrs of age. I thought Tricare for Life was for only over age 65. Reason I'm asking is I'm also 64, and have Tricare Prime. Just wondering if I need to do some checking on changing ins plans. -

Hi Sandi, when I had my surg. Dr also put me on clear liquids. I drank alot of chicken and beef boulion or broth, Special K2O water mix (has 5 gr of protein in ea indiv packet and only 6 g carb, and 5 g fiber. helped me out alot. Also at walmart you can get the generic powder drinks with no carbs, or cals. but they have no protein. SF popcycles and SF jello was also good to have around. You will be fine, and you will find that the anticipation is much worse than the surgery. Good Luck to you. Linda I am almost 3 mos post op and down 37 lbs. -

Hi All! Just had to get on here and tell everyone that I went to my family dr today due to feeling light headed, dizzy and weak for the past few days. I'm jumping with joy!!!! She has cut my blood pressure meds in half and my water pill in half also. I have been on those meds for years. I never thought I would see the day I would be coming off or decreasing them. I've only lost about 35 lbs, so by the time I reach my goal I'm going to have a fully piggy bank from prescription savings. lol. Linda -

Can anybody tell me why one person can lose 40-50 lbs and go down 2-4 dress sizes and others are still wearing the same clothes she was wearing when the surgery took place? I have lost nearly 40 lbs, and I am still wearing the clothes I did back when. Yes, a little looser, but still wearable. What a bummer!!!!!!!Cant wait till I can go down a size. lol. -

Isn't it strange how different foods effect different people. I have had no problem eating either white or rye bread. I've tried it toasted and made chicken salad sandwiches on white and have never had a problem. I guess I am one of the fortunate ones. I have had 2 fills and do feel restriction but luckily, I can still have a sandwich once in awhile. -
Hi Margiemm2, You just believe in yourself. I just had my lapband surgery May 21, a gift to myself for my 64th birthday. I could not have given myself anything better. I have lost 36 lbs since that date, and continually losing 1-2 lbs a week. Just had my 2d fill Aug 4th and doing great. Have faith, and read the posts here, and you will have all the support anybody could ask for. I know I have. Good luck to you. Linda

Hi Orea, so glad all went well for you. I guess I have been very fortunate with my band surgery, or I have a Dr who doesn't give alot of instructions before the surgery. I had my surgery on May 21, 2008, was told not to eat anything after midnight the night before. Was on no kind of diet before. The day of surgery, I just had sips of water and ice chips. Went home the next morning, and drank water, broth, and soups for 7 days. Then to pureed and then soft diet. I have never had any problem taking my meds (9 at a time) and some are big. In fact when I went back to the Dr, I asked him if I really had the band, because I didnt hurt, had an appetite, etc. I had my first fill after 6 wks (2.5cc) in a 14cc band. I still feel no restriction, am losing about 1 lb a week and can eat just about anything. So tomorrow when I go for my next fill (I hope), maybe I'll start losing a little faster, and feel some restriction. I've been very lucky. I hope you do as well. The surgery for the band was my 64th birthday present to myself. Couldn't have gotten anything any better. :thumbup:Linda -

Can anybody tell me how to correct my ticker? My dau downloaded it for me, but put in wrong info ref weight etc. I have no idea how to change it. Also, this is probably a stupid question, but when you refer to 75% protein and 25 % carbs, what are u counting, weight, calories or what? I'm lost. Linda -
Hi everyone! Well, I finally got my dau to get my ticker on here, but she put the wrong info. (Not her fault lol) Anyway, can someone tell me how to change the weight lost etc?
