Hey Luluc, I too feel that it can take more for some people to reach their sweet spot. I have a 10 cc Realize Band and I was banded on Sept. 8, 2008 and I have just reached my sweet spot at 8cc's which was about a week ago. Some people need more and some people need less, but it's your band and remember it's also your Doctor and you need to be able to talk to him and ask more questions concerning your band.

Thanks lonestar, I now know that I will be able to eat chicken again, but I will be sure to take my time and chew very well. Right now I am at the point where if anything I think about eating even looks like it can get stuck I choose not to eat that .
-
I have to say that I have learned the hard way with eating and not chewing up my food good enough! I actually decided yesterday morning that I was going to eat some chicken that I had bbq'd the day before. It was still nice and tender and I only ate a little bit of a drumstick. I thought I had chewed it up well but as I left home and was driving, I had to pull over and vomit. I have been banded since Sept.8th and I have only thrown up once. I have gotten things stuck two times before and I've never been able to vomit it back up. I really was in bad shape yesterday and eating chicken will not be on my list of things for awhile.

Weight loss and Menstrual Cycle
watermelon seeds replied to daningje's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am with some of the other people who have learned to not worry about my weight during my cycle and a couple of days after. I also have experienced my cycle date changing and I did not know that when your weight changes your cycle date will change. -

I Yes, I can feel my port. It is located on my left side right below my breast. I can see also, but it does not bother me at all, I just ignore it. I hope that everything goes well with you.

Hey, sorry about your good/bad experience. You seem strong and together, and you know what your next step should be, which is great. Keep your head up and continue holding yourself together and I hope that your revision goes well. Sorry about your mom. -
What does it feel like to get food stuck?
watermelon seeds replied to Luckyladeebugg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stuck, Stuck, Stuck, I agree with everyone when they said that you will know when something is STUCK! I too have tried everything when I get stuck like drinking, turning upside down, trying to vomit (and I hate to vomit), nothing seems to work and you end up waiting for it to just pass just like the other person said. Being stuck is actually a way of BANDSTER Life that we all have to deal with one day, but we don't have to like it. LOL! Stay strong and I hope that our comments have helped you in some kind of strange way. Have a blessed day! -
THanksgiving experiance

Hey heartfire, keep your head up and don't worry about being ashamed. I am a person who did not mind sharing that I had the lapband surgery if someone ask me, but now that people know I have people making comments. The comments are stated like "I need to lose weight but I don't want the Lapband, I want to do it on my own." Now this comment has been said by a few people and a small part of me had began to feel ashamed. I then evaluated the situation and why I decide to have the surgery and that helped me to know that I made the right decision for ME and that's what matters. I hope my info helps. -

Thanksgiving was quite interesting to me and today it's still interesting because I want the food I see and smell. When I got my plate I got a little bit of one thing at a time and I tried to chew well and see if I had enough room left to get a little more and much did not happen. I ended up not getting a chance to taste everything that I wanted but my, my, my what I had tasted great. I will admit something awful which is that I have 4cc's in my 10cc band and and I have not thrown up since the first day I had my surgery but, today I actually had the thought if I could just throw up I could eat some more. I am a person who hates the thought of VOMITING, what was I thinking? AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL but so true. The VOMITING did not happen!!! I am sitting here right now wanting to eat but I have only had a few bites and I am sooo full. I guess this means my wonderful REALIZE BAND is doing it's job. I love being BANDED! -

Silly question
watermelon seeds replied to blueyedprincess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
"My journey began in Pre-op" Hello Jaime, I wanted to say that my ticker includes my pre-op. I include it because I feel that my journey started when I started my pre-op. I feel that my pre-op prepared me for surgery because I could not have the surgery with my Doctor unless I did the pre-op. I really feel sorry for people wo do not have a pre-op because it's more than just a diet for two weeks, it was an actual mental breakdown for shrinking your liver and learning how to eat healthy. The first day of Pre-op I went straight cold turkey and I did not plan my food that was on my Doctor's "SHRINK YOUR LIVER DIET LIST," I just went to work as usual and thought that my Slim Fast would be all I needed. I thought I was going to die of HUNGER! The second day I thought I was going to eat SOMEBODY because I was so hungry but thanks to one of the bloggers here I knew if I messed up pre-op that there was a chance that my Doc could go in and see my mess and close me up and say noway. I then figured out that I needed to plan, plan, plan my healthy meals and stay focused, be consistant and watch my calories, fat gram intake and I even figured how to be creative when I was in a place where I may not have had exactly what I needed. This thing broke me down and prepared me for the small portions after surgery and healthier choices. "These are my reasons for adding my pre-op on my ticker." I will also mention that my ticker has the details of were I was when I started and my surgery weight and my current weight. -

Congrats Carly! I hope that you are feeling great today considering it's the second day of BANDSTERLAND! The second day may be easy for some and harder for others but, sit back and relax and take it easy because, you will need the the stength for the rest of your bandster days. Keep us posted and relax. I was banded on Sept.8th and I am still as excited as I was when I found out I was approved and then banded.
