    Stuck in a bad place

I don't know if I am even on the right forum or not, but I have a problem that I hope someone can shed some light on.. I had the lap band surgery 2 years ago in May, and I have not lost a significant amount of weight yet. I did have some issues with a hiatel hernia that was fixed during surgery but my issue seems to be that I am always eating. I have 8 cc in a 10 cc band and I still am eating. I can't seem to move past 260lbs.. I started out at 295... I know that I have to eat Protein and work out and I do at least 4 times a week, but my question is how I am only eating 800-1000 calories and working out and burning 200-400 a day, but am not losing weight? I don't know what else to do.. I m frustrated and upset... Whatever I do is not working.. I am stalled and can't seem to jumpstart weight loss at any cost... I just don't want to get so emotional that I start to eat my feelings... Any suggestions?

    Fill/Restriction Help

I went for my 1st fill last week. They put in 4 cc in. I was on liquids for 1 day, but I have not seen a difference in restriction. I eat like before the surgery. Should I call the dr. again? Will they do another fill so soon? I have no restriction, and I don't want to wait another month for my appt to come. I am scared I won't lose any weight. Any advice will help.
  3. Okay, so I have heard about this situation but don't know if I am going through it or not... I had my surgery on 5/15 and lost about 22 lbs so far. After the swelling and pain went away, (I also had a hernia repair) I was feeling okay.. Now, its been 2 months and I feel the same before surgery. I am eating like a regular person, just not eating too much. I have no issues with any food, I just feel no restriction. I am scheduled for my 1st fill July 8. Is it going to get better then? Is it going to feel like it did right after surgery? How long will that last? Any information would be appreciated.
  4. Hi there, I saw a post up here a while ago about the different foods that you can eat on the different phases. Does anyone know where it went? I think it was a sticky. I am on mushies now, and getting tired of the same old, same old. I wanted to see what's next on the food phases and get some motivation to keep going, maybe have something to look forward to. Any help would be great!
  5. I was banded on 5.15.08 and I have had some dehydration issues since the surgery. I am not thirsty and as much as I try to drink liquids, I am not getting my 64 oz in at all. I struggle to get 40 oz. I have tried everything and i know this is affecting my progress or it will eventually. I also am having a hard time getting my Protein and caloric intake daily. I am not physically hungry, but my head hunger is there. I try to do a good job of picking the right foods, (still on soft foods) but, am in need of some good ideas of foods to eat or drinks to try. Has anyone else had this issue? I won't get a fill for another 3 weeks, but I can feel that some of my old habits are creeping back in or at least trying to... I am TIRED of mashed potatoes, and oatmeal. My doctor says I can have shrimp or scallops but I think I miss the whole meal. Any good ideas?

    Scheduled for June 17th

Congrats on your date! I am a teacher too, and had my surgery on May 15. I had two weeks sick leave, so it has helped. There is a list of suggested* foods on the nutrition/food thread. My dr. had me on a 2 week liquid diet, and then 1 week of liquid post op and now I am on mushies.. loose oatmeal, Jello, pudding, creme Soup... It's not so bad, it will be easier for you since you won't be at work. I too, am self pay, so it does go quick. I started on 2/29 and my surgery was 5/15. Good Luck!

    3 days on liquid diet

Don't stress... I know it may seem hard, actually the first three days were hard for me, but it was all worth it! I lost 13 lbs. pre-op, and my surgery was a success! It really is a matter of the mind. A few tips... 1. Drink lots of 0 calorie drinks, crystal lite, h20.. 2. Try some Protein drinks, Propel is really good. 3. Carnation no sugar added Breakfast drink fills you up... Good Luck!
  9. Just wanted to say that i tried the "cheese danish" recipe with the egg and cream cheese. YUM!!! I was skeptical at first, but it tastes like french toast and eggs minus the bread! Thanks!
  10. Hey there, I am new here to the boards. I just got banded on the 15th. I have not been keeping up with my liquid intake and i am very nausea and gasey. I was wondering how long people were out of work? My doctor told me two weeks, I thought that was too long, but now I m thinking I should wait another week. I am always tired, still uncomfortable sitting up and in a pain still. How long is the average to be out of work?
