  1. Happy 61st Birthday gaylerob!

  2. To Coach Cher- Will there only be one conference in NYC/NJ in 2009? Should we plan on flying in on the morning of March 27th?
  3. To Patti in West Central Florida- Do you live near Orlando? I live on the West coast in Clearwater.
  4. Jack- I found myself eating an unhealthy snack (dreading it) just before undertaking a painting french doors project that I knew would take hours, then taping off the den for the ceiling to be painted (by my daughter, yeah) I did drink 2 huge glasses of water during breaks. Tomorrow I hope the next project will go smoothly, and it will cool down a little. I do go on vacation next Friday!
  5. I just had a fill last Tuesday, and we went out to dinner tonight, and I ate 60% of the meat, some soup, and some of the 2 side dishes. I was surprized that I could eat that much. I rarely can eat only an egg and a little of something else. In the morning, I usually have a protein shake. If I have an egg and 1/2 piece of toast, it is about 11 a.m.
  6. I am so grateful I had the second fill. I was 4.5 out of a 9 cc. band, but she only withdrew 4cc- some disappeared; no wonder I could out eat my gastric bypass friend. I now am filled to 5.5, and am eating the portions I want and am staying fuller longer. Drinking no cal fluids between helps with hunger. Drink 1/2 the amt. of body weight in ounces- a 189 lb. person needs 95 ounces, preferably water.
  7. When I am frustrated with the band, I try applesauce. You can mix yogurt with protein powder and extract, or make a smoothie. I love the double chocolate jello SF pudding; the raspberry chocolate isn't bad. I save these foods for when I just had an adjustment. I use a glass custard dish for my ice cream dish; no one can never eat ice cream. The frozen Publix (I live in FL) black jack cherry yogurt is terrrific; you would never know it was good for you.
  8. I live in Clearwater on the west coast.

Can I decide NOT to get a fill?

I like the protein bars, soft, from Diet Direct.com- the chocolate mint and peanut butter coated in peanut butter are delicious! GNC has a 40 gm protein drink called Isopure; some flavors are better than others.
  10. Most of the time I have a protein shake. I make it with 3-4 oz. water, 2 ice cubes, and protein powder; off I go!

Can I decide NOT to get a fill?

I find I cannot eat breakfast type food until about 10 or 11 am. I usually have a protein shake in the am right before leaving for excercise class.
  12. I ate 3 onion rings and a chicken wing, fried; too much breading says the Dr. and got a horrible pain in the left side near the port. I had to lie on my right side until it subsided. I hope this helps.
  13. I was banded 5-7, and had 4.5 of 9 in the Realize band put in 6-17-08. I can eat alot! My friends, banded or not, cannot believe that I can eat the same as an unbanded person. I have lost 16.5 lb, but would like to lose 3 lb. a week, not 2. I need advice. Thank you!
  14. I was banded May 7th. I had at least one protein shake for energy a day. Mix it with 3 or 4 oz. of water, 2 ice cubes; makes it thick and cold. I also mix a dannon lite yogurt (5gm protein) and some vanilla extract, protein powder and spoon it for breakfast; it is nice to eat with a spoon. I just had a fill today, and am on liquids for a day, then soft foods for a day. You can blend anything on the liquid days for variety, such as chunky soups. Eating enough protein helps keep you full longer.
