My WLS office sent my lap band in for approval with Tri-care prime. Some people are saying they got approved right away and some people are saying it is impossible to get approved for lap band with tri-care. My nutricianist said being 5'4, 273 lbs. with no co-morbidity i should get approved but reading some of the resposes on Tri-care is a little discouraging. Hopefully things will go well.

Well, I got banded in June of this year. I bought some jeans and they didnt exactly button when I got them but i figured i could fit them by Christmas. Well, I tried them on and they fit! Only to realize I need a "short" and not a regular. But that im not too concerned about. I got them from the Jrs. Dept. which im even more happy about. (being that im only 21) I mean they are a size 19, but starting from a 24, im so glad. 40 lbs. lost at the 6 month mark, maybe by the 12th month, i will have lost 70-80 lbs. Yay!

Drinking with food. I love my sweet tea. I had to switch to a decaff tea and splenda. Not that bad though. -
How often do you go shopping for clothes that fit?
jeremiahsmommy posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I finally get a good fitting pair of jeans and then in a week and a half they start getting saggy on me again. (I love it, but its kinda annoying!)-anyone feel the same way?-I know some people wait to go shopping for smaller clothing, but my next size is in the "regular section" and I do not think I can wait. How often do you go shopping? -
Don't worry I had the same problem, I was losing maybe, on a good week, a half a pound per week. I got my third fill about 2 weeks ago and losgt 5 pounds, so just hang in there!

Since my surgery in june, I have lost about 40 pounds, which I am happy for, but i have also had a baby (c-section) and I had hanging skin before in my lower belly but it is worse than ever, can anyone recommed a good brand of supportive underwear or something to hide my hanging skin? Thanks

I went in for my fill (2nd) on Wednesday.( had 3 cc's then he added 1.6 cc's on wed- in my 10 cc band) Now, it being monday, I should be on normal foods again. The first days I was on liquids and then it was time for mushies. But everything I ate came back up. I tried scrambled eggs, refried beans, tuna, it all gave my that awful chest tightening feeling and made me get sick, so I called my doc and he said to go back to liquids for a few days. Now, being monday, I tried to eat eggs again, It didnt come back up but I still fell that chest tightness. I know im eating slowly and chewing well. Also when drinking I feel that tightness....I think im too tight, any opinions?

Are THESE the gas pains - Day 5 of banding
jeremiahsmommy replied to thughes113's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My best guess would be gas. My nurse in the hospital told me that they have to fill u with co2 when doing the surgery. So you will have excess gas. I had my gas under my ribs and in my shoulder. I am 2 1/2 weeks out and still have shoulder pain from gas. But my nurse also said, Gas-x wont do a thing, its like taking gas-x for a headache. Hope i could help and good luck!! -
what my personal trainer said and my doc said is that protein maintains muscle mass, if you do not have a protein diet, you will lose the muscle mass. Also, maintaining or gaining muscle mass makes your matabolism skyrocket and makes u lose weight faster. My doc has got me on 90 g of protein a day, and i have lost 27 lbs since june 11th. so drink drink or eat eat ur protein!

Most Important things to Do!
jeremiahsmommy replied to lalaredd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you have children, DO NOT lift them. Do not lift anything over 10 lbs because i lifted my 10 month old, and i made my biggest insicion hurt way more than it had to. Don't cheat on your liquid diet, because most of the time it IS painful. Drink your water, drink your protein...thats all i got, good luck! -
I just ate lunch, and i had some tuna with 3 whole weat ritz crackers. (i actually put 4 crackers on my plate) I ate maybe 2/3 of what i put on my plate, and im trying to get used to being full by eating so little, and i havnt even had my fill yet! I dont know how little im going to eat after i get my fill....kinda scary that i can eat so little and get full!!
