Surgery was yesterday. Had a really rough night with vomiting, but today is going better. Can't wait to move this gas bubble out though -

I get 6 servings of raw vegetables, or like cream of wheat. So basically, 1 normal meal for me split across the day. Id love some meat or eggs lol. My nerves would be better if everywhere I went for preop and such people weren't like "oh wow, you're getting a full switch procedure." -

Just under 7 days, absolutely. This preop diet is killing me, and getting really hard to stay on. -
So, surgery is set for 9/18. I haven't been apprehensive at all in this whole process, and now having an actual date seems to be making me more anxious lol. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

Yeah, this is osteoarthritis, so I'm already missing some of the padding, lol. I've got a pain doc willing to do some work to try and help, but I have to lose some weight so the needles will actually get into my joint. End of the day, losing weight will help no matter what with my health, that's my focus at least.

What surgery did you have? -
If you had both parts of the surgery drive at once, how long did your surgery last? Trying to figure out how long my wife may be waiting

I'm with you on the fear of death. My worry is leaving my wife stuck dealing with it if something happens. One of the biggest reasons I'm having the surgery is to get weight off some bad joints. I'm more terrified the joint pain doesn't lessen.

I'm in love!!! Got a sample today of something that may save my life, and yours if you are sick of sweet protein shakes. The Unjury chicken soup.... 21g of protein, and a savory, salty alternative to the gallons of sweet shakes!! -

Mine starts tomorrow, surgery on the 18th. I'm honestly a little worried for the people that have these super short liquid diets, doesn't seem safe at all. -

I am having a DS as well, start my diet on Tuesday. Trying to avoid last supper syndrome this weekend. -
So we went out last night buying some shakes before they went off sale today. The woman working the register asked about the 8 packs of shakes, and of course had a story. Her "sister" who had bypass in the 80s, and had so many problems she couldn't even drink water. So, the solution, was they gave her a lap band? What are some of the craziest stories you have heard from people? Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

More than a little anxious. Being a responsible adult and making sure things like my living will and such are up to date, and the impending doom of the 2 week liquid diet soon, have me a little stressed lol. But really, it's only human to be, so it doesn't bother me too much. -

So, as I am getting closer to having everything setup, I know that there needs to be a goal weight on the paperwork to give us a place to aim for, and I know all of the paperwork always goes by BMI. At 5'11", the top weight for "healthy" is 175 lbs. Now, Im not a small guy, I have a broad frame. Is there a better way to figure out a goal than BMI? If I hit 175 lbs, Id be confused for a crackhead.

My wife had RNY about 9 years ago and works the overnight in our local hospital. She has found beef jerky and those P3 snacks to be a lifesaver for eating at work. -
So, just to update, the patient advocate called a little while ago to let me know that the Dr has approved the full switch surgery after looking through the information given on why I wanted to do that. Have my last classes this week, and then everything goes into insurance. Since my wife works for the hospital where it will be done and I am on her insurance, that just means waiting on a date, wooohoo!!
