I don't know what part of Florida you are in, but I taught in Polk county for 3 years and my mother has taught there for over 8 years. I do not think that science is a joke, nor do I agree that history is just US history. Teachers do the best they can with in the restraints of the rules they have to follow. I think that often times teachers have to spend more time teaching students basic manners and social responsibility that the kids should be learning at home. This often distracts from true learning but teachers are forced to because these days we are supposed to be mothers and fathers and babysitters as well.

Well basiclly, people sign up and pm me with their info. On the assigned date I will draw names and send pm's to every one giving them their GG (ghostly gifters) At that time you are free to purchase or make (many people have made beautiful hand crafted gifts) any gift that you would like to send to your GG. We usually keep it around a $25 limit. But some people spend more and some spend less. It's the thought that counts and sometimes the cheapest gifts have made the most impact. Then we start a thank you thread and people can post photos and share their wonderful gifts and thank their senders. We usually keep it around $25, we would love to have ya in Mandy! PS: Don't forget to PM me your addresses, even if you have participated in previous exchanges.

Hello All, The shopping has begun!! I have already gotten some pm's saying their gifts are on the way! You people are right on top of things!! Sorry I've been MIA lately guys, but I was in St.Agustine and I just got back to a computer now. It sounds like things are working out. I haven't gotten any pm's from any one else saying that they are missing a gift so it sounds like we worked it out mostly. Is there any one else who hasn't gotten their gift? Alison, has your SS pm'ed you?? I was thinking about doing a Halloween exchange, but I think it might be a little close....so I was thinking about doing Thanksgiving instead. What does every one think? Or maybe we should just skip ahead and do a Christmas exchange.... input? ideas? BTW I hope I'm not hogging the exchanges, if some one else wants to do one let me know and I'll step down. I was to give a big thanks to Vickie, she set me a beautiful bracelet that says teach on it with swarovski crystals and it came along with a teachers poem. The poem says: Teacher Bracelet This color bracelet is made just for you. To be a reminder of the things you do. Green is for the inspitation you give each day. Purple is for your patience in showing the way. Blue is for your warmth and your caring style. Yellow is for the way that you always smile. Red is for the lives that you will touch this year. Ok guys, if you don't know it yet, you will know it now...I'm absolutely CRAZY about cats! I have 2, an orange and white fireball named Mia who is almost 2 years old, and a tiger striped stinker (not as in she stinks but as in shes spoiled rotten!) named Annie. Annie is about 6 months old. I just thought I would post a few photos. Any other members who have pets, please post them here! I love to see animals.

wow it looks like most docs say no coke. I know I shouldn't drink it but i do every once in while. I'm stocking up on crystal light while I'm on vacation to bring back with me.

Instead of beef or pork or hotdogs, BBQ some chicken with sugar free BBQ sauce. (I like the breast the best) Also veggie kabobas are great! Buy some wooden skewers (almost any grocery store has them near the BBQ section) and slice up squash and zuchini and carrot and onion and peppers, put a little garlic poweder and brush with olive oil. Very tasty! It only takes a few min to grill them and get a nice crunchy but cooked texture.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to say that I'm leaving Thursday morning from Lisbon for Florida. Hopefully tropical storm Ernesto won't interfere with our flight plans. We are going to be in the US (Texas and Florida) for about 3 weeks then we are heading back here to Lisbon. We soooo need a vacation! I'll still be around though using my laptop, so wish me a good flight!!

Maybe you should take your own advice. Apparently you don't agree with the point of this thread...so why did you post at all? Why didn't you just "move on"?

It's nice that you can find such an eloquent way to state your opinion....

I think that those types of posts are considered "off topic" and in some other forums would be moved or deleted. In my opinion the best thing to do to reduce tension, is simply not to post any more on that thread and move on. With all due respect Funny I fail to see how those types of post on a thread with such tension helps. To get back to the matter at hand....we should go post on other threads that are actually about weight loss and banding. By continued posting on a thread like these recent ones, it only keeps it at the top of the list for more people to read and then post on. The best way to end tension is to let it drop.

I haven't used them, but I'm sure I will be needing to find something in the central Florida area when I move. Inamed also has a list of qualified doctors on their website, you may be able to get some information from talking to the office of one of those doctors in the Tampa area.

This is my latest cross stitch project that I finished. It's a Geisha girl for my husbands brother and his new wife. It's their wedding present. I'm a bit pissed with the framers though, there is a small green smudge on the material on the right side, and a small chip in the frame on the bottom. I almost took it back but I'm afraid they might mess it up more trying to take it out of this frame and reframe it. Ohh well it still looks good.
