  1. Hi.. I had my surgery about 2 years ago and for the past few weeks have noticed a burning sensation coming from the top of my stomach. I am not sure if this is normal, or heart burn, or something to be concerned about. I live 7 hours away from my surgeon, so would be a bit trip for me to go in for a check up. Thanks..

    surgery may 21st

Hi Girls How has your week been, mine has been really busy because I went back to Work on Monday... I hope you are all feeling as fantastic as I am, the pain in my shoulders from the gas has finally gone away. But I am feeling the old hunger pains returning, they are pretty easy to ignore though, I keep telling myself that I am trading food for losing kilos.... I am going to start walking this week because I haven't lost any weight for the past 3 days, which is depressing after losing a kilo a day after the surgery, has any one else's weight slowed down... I have 4 more days until I go on to pureed foods, who would have that would excite anyone... But I am looking forward to Shepards Pie and some Rice pudding.. Cheers

Hi Girls Well I am back.. I made it through the surgery, but am feeling a little bit sorry for myself. I did not come out of the anthestic too well so I had to spend an extra night at the hospital. But never mind tomorrow is another day.. Does any one have any pain the back of their shoulders, I do and am still taking Endone for this.. Sorry if this is a doomy gloomy post, but it is how I feel right now, but I am sure I will feel better tomorrow.. Bye for now and I hope you all are feeling well. Cheers

Hi Girls Christy, Yvonne & Holly... Ok, Holly what wise tips can you bestow on us to be banders.. How have you found it. Is there anything you have found out since the operation that you wish you had found out before. What is the pain like? Is there anything we can do to prepare ourselves? Is it like having a baby where by you think you know what to expect then it is nothing like it... How are you coping with not being able to eat.. And if you all don't mind, can I ask why you think you all got so big. After I had children I put on all my weight and at first I blamed it on Post Natal Depression and then after that Depression, but I think I let myself down out of habitual eating, I don't think that I suffer from Depression anymore, because I have a really happy life, I have a wonderfully supportive husband and 2 fantastic kids, and I am not sad anymore and yet I binge on chocolate and chips. So I believe after my surgery and need to work on a lot more than just my weight. Also Yvonne, thank you so much for all those valuable tips, some of I had never even thought off.. Cheers

    Perth people, where are you?

Hi everyone, My name is Debi and I am new to this website. I am having surgery next Tuesday with Dr Jefferey Hamdorf at SJOG in Subiaco.. I am about 110 kilos now and would ideally like to get down to 60-70 kilos. I have 2 adorable kids and a fantastic husband. I am flying to Perth on Monday to have my last appt with him before the surgery.. I think I know what to expect, but maybe not, I am extremely nervous I know that much. I think the hardest thing I find about exercising is finding the right type of music to walk to. Can anyone send me a list of good walking music, the kind of music that pumps and is fast in beat.. I would love to meet Perth banders, or just talk to you, with your advice and tips. Have a good day..
