I’m almost to my 2 year anniversary (in a few days) and I feel like I’m out of control with my eating. Life/work stress isn’t helping and I’m at a loss as to how to correct myself. Has anyone else felt like this? How did you get “back on plan”? any thoughts would be appreciated.

POST SURGERY- When did you get your energy back and go to the gym?
MeepMeep replied to Serengirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
8 weeks and I felt “normal”. My energy was back to pre-op levels and I felt I was ready to go back to the gym. Take it slow! Several times I came home and had to take a nap. I’m feeling better now that I’m eating real food again. Somehow those protein shakes didn’t give me enough energy to do much without getting tired quickly. -
What's my first step

Schedule with a surgeon. They will run all the same blood tests, etc that a PCP will. I was in the same boat with no insurance coverage for my surgery. It may be a long process..get scheduled for a consultation so you know what lies ahead. Good Luck! -
6 1/2 weeks post-surgery - weight loss stopped
MeepMeep replied to boopatches's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For me too! I’ve managed to kick start it again by weighing in only once a week, getting all my fluids, and adding exercise along with following my food plan. Its difficult for me because I travel for work and sometimes my body doesn’t want to cooperate, but Hanging on to this for dear life and hope the scale starts moving again soon. We can be frustrated together but we can never give up. -

October Surgery Date and Getting Cold Feet...
MeepMeep replied to KayLow42's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Only you can make this life changing decision. And it looks like you have a few examples of how this is a tool and your daily decisions will affect how it works. I questioned myself about making such a permanent change but am so glad I did. You’ve worked so hard and have overcome so many obstacles to get where you are..don’t quit on yourself now. -

Preop appointment????
MeepMeep replied to Rays of Sunshine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine included all of the information given by other above. We also confirmed what surgery I would be having, my current weight and how to continue on my pre-op diet successfully. This is the time to get all of your surgery questions asked and answered. Nothing is off limits—this is your body and your new life. Don’t be shy..if you’re wondering about something, speak up. Good Luck! -

ITCHY! Can I put lotion around my incisions?
MeepMeep replied to PeachPerfect's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I put lotion on my incisions with no problems. If you’re still questioning it, start with something like Neosporin or hydrocortisone cream. -
You’re on your way!! Welcome. I’ve found all of the boards/posts to be very informative and most importantly non-judgemental.

Yay you! sometimes it’s the little victories that will make your day.

Talking about the surgery with people
MeepMeep replied to JSSteinman's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I agree with catwoman7. I feel no obligation to explain myself, but if pushed will just say I’m eating better and exercising. -
I rid my house of all the “bad” foods prior to me starting my pre-op phase. Out of sight, out of mind is how my brain works. While it didn’t stop all of the cravings, at least I couldn’t eat those cravings. Having a protein shake helps make me full and kicks those cravings in the butt. I also procrastinate about walking, but have found ways to get my steps in during the day. 3 short walks, taking the stairs, parking as far from the door as I can, etc. I find I’m enjoying being unplugged for a bit of time during my day and I’m doing something good for myself at the same time. Diet and exercise are the keys to your “tool”..without them any type of surgery won’t work for the long term. Good Luck! You deserve to be healthy.

I’m laughing at this because I saw the ads too and thought: Hell no, I’ll die. I’m SO proud of you for trying something new. You CAN do it!!

Part of it is your body detoxing itself from all the “wrong” foods and to give you the best prep for your journey. I felt awful too during that time. DO try to drink a lot of fluids to flush your system. I found that I was dehydrated and it added to my groggy state and brain fog. Good Luck!

I’m a side/tummy sleeper too. About 8 days out I could do both without much discomfort. I did try it a fee days earlier and found with a pillow supporting my torso/tummy on my left side I wasn’t in pain.
