dry mouth and bad breath are a combination of dehydration and ketosis. It does pass eventually though. Just drink, use mouth washes or you can get a dry mouth gel from the pharmacy which we use at work as a replacement for saliva on patients that are mouth breathing and severely dry, ill try and find the usa version for you, back in ten mins!

I know it's hard and I HATED the constant sipping, to begin with especially being a low fluid drinker before surgery. Suddenly having to carry a damn drink bottle everywhere REALLY annoyed me LOL Not really sure where my mindset changed with the drinking but it did and i just concentrated on sippity sip sipping alllllll day and now I always have my 1-litre drink bottle on me without thinking. So many habits to change huh You can do it, you just have to make a conscious effort at the moment but it will end up being 2nd nature eventually xx ps. I have gone backwards a few times too, no biggie we get 'there' eventually x

oh bless you, sounds awful. just concentrate on fluids sip sip sip all day long freeze some watery drinks etc as fluffy chix has said. have a bottle of water on you at all times, take it everywhere and keep sipping. you feel so awful coz of the dehydration so if you can get on top of that there will be a huge improvement xx

How many years after surgery could you eat a plate of spaghetti without feeling nauseous?
Bastian replied to Ninja-slash-nerd's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
this was my face when you said rice is just a filler pre op rice was my absolute favourite food lol Can't touch it now but the brain still wants to defend a big bowl of steamed jasmine rice LOL -
just eat protein first with a gravy/sauce of some kind and veggies well cooked, that is more important than calories, take your time eating your food too and just try to aim for 800-900cals, some days you will some days you won't but the most important thing is getting close to your protein goals x

yes, fat cells store oestrogen so drastic weight loss causes the fat cells to release the oestrogen and therefore higher pregnancy and ivf success rates

oh, bless you, you poor thing. I had a volvulus (remnant stomach twisted tightly and cut off blood supply, made me very ill) post op and was converted to a bypass 1 week after my sleeve, in agony, couldn't drink, let alone eat also ended up with a picc line but the conversion to bypass fixed me kinda (still having issues eating) no TPN for me but headed that way if I can't get my intake and nutrients up. I'm also a nurse so have given TPN a lot. Are you able to consume anything? What's going on with your gut and bowel? Big virtual healing hugs coming your way x

yes but others asked what it was

The "Leak" Experience: How bad?
Bastian replied to Dr-Patient's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
a leak usually refers to staples/stitches coming undone and has to be fixed permanently or can end in fatality, so a leak itself isn't ongoing as it is an emergency and you end up in ICU. sOOOO (oops bkwds caps lol-) a bypass is probably the best option for you. What do you think about conversion to a bypass? -
Ps. All the private hospitals offer finance packages.

THE SLOW LOSERS CLUB SUPPORT THREAD
Bastian replied to Serengirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Contrary to what my hospital guidelines are for diabetics and the information I give my diabetic patients, when low carb there is no need for 4-5 meals a day (not even for type 1's), eating often increases glucose/ insulin production there for glucose spikes occur then dip rapidly causing lows. USA is obvs a bit behind the 8 ball with diabetec diets it seems, which surprises me coz I always think you are miles ahead of the rest of the world. -

Adenoids and tonsils can and do grow back, go see your Dr to get investigated. It must be so annoying!
