  1. So for those that don't know I had a sleeve done on the 12th Aug and my stomach twisted from top to bottom (only happens in 0.2% of patients so don't panic if you are pre-op) so I couldn't even get water down, so on the 20th (after an OGD and failed dilation) I had a bypass which may or may not, in fact, be a duodenal switch (will ask when I see my surgeon on Sept 30th). I would quite like to know exactly what my anatomy now is lol Anyway, I went through some pretty horrendous pain got through it all finally and came home ready to move on from it all, but am still uncomfortable, tired, feeling sick, etc. It may well be from lactose intolerance which I finally figured out was a big issue for me this week, but after no lactose at all yesterday and finally a soft tummy this morning, rather than the solid painful one I had constantly the last week, I STILL feel like crap today OH! writing this down has made me wonder if some of my medication has lactose in it, right need to check it huh! It has just been 6 weeks of feeling unwell you know (since the 1st surgery) and whilst I am WAY better than I was; unlike lots of others on here getting back to work and their lives, if I had to go back to work now I actually wouldn't be able to and I am getting frustrated at not feeling 'almost normal' again ugh moany moany moan whinge and whine, sorry for moaning just having a fed up day

    Stinky Pee

Erm i hope you mean discharge or vaginal secretions? Which is a normal daily bodily function. Ejaculate is usually what men do at orgasm and of course in the last decade women started claiming to do it too. Why isn't this on the gals only board? * HELP HOW many days in hospital???

Honestly if you live alone do as many days in hospital as you can especially as you are so far away from it. In USA they do kick them out super early for everything. I think it's just because of their insurance style health care system and most on here are from USA. I had mine done in uk and they said 2-4 is normal for a sleeve and 4 or 5 for a bypass. So sounds the same. [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile app

  9. Hold on a minute why is a psychologist telling you how to eat BEFORE you have had surgery? Why would you be trying to have 100g protein a day pre-surgery? Fantastic that you are eating better but I don't understand why she is telling you how to eat it isn't her speciality is it, wouldn't a dietician be doing that and your calorie range is good. Stick with the high protein because it fills you up and try and fill up with lots of veggies rather than bread pasta rice potatoes Amazing how much you have lost already monitoring your intake, BE PROUD of yourself. I'm so sorry she didn't approve you, that sux BUT it sounds to me like it won't take much to get her to approve you the next time you go through the process. Big virtual hugs x
  10. yeah I saw that and told you to get your butt to A&E then noticed I was like 18 hours late haha! When I had the twisted gut the day after my bypass holy shysters the pain when I drank and there was a dr and nurse in with me and they were telling me to do 'stuff' god only knows what, but the pain hit me and I just ROARED the word PAIN at the poor dr haha It all came up after I yelled then I was like 'oh so sorry I am fine now thank you' BUT the point of my little story was that I imagined you were in the same kind of pain with your stuck food and I felt awful for you! But glad you are on the recovery road now REMEMBER what @FluffyChix always tells us, sip sip sip and chew chew chew.

  13. Oh no! Storm!? A storm should be no excuse when One has high hopes for delivery!
  14. I'm in the UK and my program was very different to yours. 2 weeks full fluids on discharge, then I am on my 2nd week of puree, no solids yet. Every surgeon has their preferred regimen, it isn't a country thing but a surgeon thing

    excircating pain HELP

Hey did they do xrays or anything? Where is your pain and are you keeping your fluids down or vomiting
  17. Bastian

    Need help

ps. bloating is from the op why are you wanting puree food already?
  18. Bastian

    Need help

yes there is very little in your bowel to come out so it is fine, I didn't go for 2 weeks when on fluids and my norm is daily. Not going is not constipation when you haven't been eating, constipation is when you have the urge to go but it just won't move and or is hard/dry/painful.
  19. Hey @grommie sorry that sounded like i was calling you ludicrous, I meant a week of water is ludicrous!! And like I said you CAN do it
  20. Hey how are you doing now did it all get sorted?
  21. Sorry but this is ludicrous!! The part that makes me fume is a Dietician saying to have flippin' orange juice which is horrendous on so many levels. A protein shake or protein water is far more beneficial than a sugar-laden orange juice pfffft It is cruel to expect someone to live on clear fluids for a week for bariatric surgery when it is a known fact we have much bigger appetites than the average person. Hydration is the most important thing though and it is "just" a week and you CAN do it, be strong and keep your surgery date in focus!
  22. have a look in thr gallery at the before and after pics, but as already said the hows and why's are more important. Any of our surgery is just a tool, we all have to do the head work & the leg work. Get those right and you WILL have success. GOOD LUCK

    I really don't like stalls

So do measurements with a tape measure MUCH more accurate especially when you are stalled and feeling fed up. Also the next pic is a true story
