Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I often compare myself to others who's journey is going faster than mine but each of us is different. I am happy to be wearing clothing I haven't worn in years. I just thought the weight would "fall off" on it's own which is not the case. I will succeed this time though. I have a different mind set. I'm thrilled with the band. I do chair exercises twice a day religiously and hope that will help. Eventually I hope I can do regular exercise.

You had a remarkable weight loss. You must feel fabulous. Mine is going slower which gets frustrating, but still I am very happy to be down the 65 pounds. Linny

Hi. My name is Lin and this is the first time I've been on the 60+ site. When I read messages from people in their 20's and 30's, they have lost weight so quickly that I feel like maybe I am doing something wrong... I'm losing so much less. So, I'd love to hear from ladies in their 60's. I was banded 10 months ago and have lost 65 pounds. How are you ladies doing? Do you have any tips for success? I am SO HAPPY I had the surgery, but thought it would go faster. Thanks for your help.

I am replying re a complaint of an acidic feeling in the throat. DO YOU TAKE ANTACIDS? I TAKE THE OVER THE COUNTER EQUIVALENT OF NEXIUM ONCE IN THE MORNING AND ONCE AT BEDTIME AS PER MY DOCTOR. IT HAS BEEN 6 WEEKS AND I STILL GET THE FEELING BUT ONLY IF I HAVE TOMATO SAUCE OR VINEGAR. TRY AN ACID REDUCER. LYN

Anyone is the 60 year old range with the band? We ought to have our own chat room. We lose weight at a different speed and have different challanges than those in their 20's and 30's. Lyn

For those of you who are afraid that NJ is far from NY, it's just across the Hudson River and is much cheaper than NY. There are continuous buses from all major areas in NJ to the City (NY City that is.) :thumbdown:

I hope you invite either Dr. Christina Ren or Dr. George Fielding to speak. They are two of the top doctors in NYC, located at NYU Medical Center. They have done about 6,000 + lapband surgeries.
