Favorite Flavorless Protein Powder?
catchthewind replied to PlanetHopper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like Genepro. It has no taste and practically no texture. I'm going to stick with it. Given the law suit about protein content, I'm figuring about 15 gm per scoop rather than 30 until I hear otherwise. Sent from my SM-T820 using BariatricPal mobile app -
3 weeks post op from sleeve

If yes and yes, I don't see why not. The worse that happens is you get so sick of ricotta bake you never want to look at it again! They say a varied diet is important because of the wide variety of nutrients we need, but that doesn't apply to us post-op. Sent from my SM-T820 using BariatricPal mobile app -

Does it have enough protein? And is just 2 oz per meal enough at this point? Sent from my SM-T820 using BariatricPal mobile app -

Clogged/Plugged ears?
catchthewind replied to Samteer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Way before my surgery, I had a lengthy dental procedure and then started with the same ear-popping you're describing. They said it was TMJ caused by the positioning of my mouth during the dental procedure. It was exacerbated by gum chewing. It eventually cleared up on its own, but still comes back very briefly now and then. Supplements are life-long. Sent from my SM-T820 using BariatricPal mobile app -
When did you guys start the gym?
catchthewind replied to Isabelmonster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been a life-long hater of sports and exercise. The only thing that works for me is to watch a really good movie or TV show (something with lots of action or fast-moving drama) while using the elliptical. (It would work as well on a treadmill if you prefer that.) Sent from my SM-T820 using BariatricPal mobile app -
5 days post op! My story this far.

I like the 98% fat free mushrrom - undiluted. You just have to strain out the mushroom pieces. I thought the cream of chicken was gross, though. Sent from my SM-T820 using BariatricPal mobile app -
December Surgery dates???
catchthewind replied to Kimmerz23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There couldn't be any serious harm you could do from one cheat pre-op, as long as it's not surgery day. Sent from my SM-T820 using BariatricPal mobile app -

December Surgery dates???
catchthewind replied to Kimmerz23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like that. If I had it to do over again I would ask my doctor if there's truly evidence that the pre-op liquid diet has any benefit. Or if maybe even it's vice-versa, like Kaiser says. Sent from my SM-T820 using BariatricPal mobile app -
WHAT EXACTLY IS THE ISSUE WITH CARBONATED DRINKS??? & other questions!

I truly believe the magic trick with exercise is finding something you enjoy. Sent from my SM-T820 using BariatricPal mobile app -

But she is only 3 days out, so she's still recuperating. I'm 3 days out today and can't do much more than lie in bed. A bike ride is a dream for future days! Sent from my SM-T820 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Unless you're a really stoic, disciplined person, I think you need to have something you enjoy (at least a little bit). In my case it's working the elliptical while watching a really engrossing TV show. I can't say I love it, but looking forward to the next episode keeps me motivated! Also, making it a habit is crucial. For years I exercised religiously the minute I walked in the door after work. It was like being on autopilot. After a two-month break due to extenuating circumstances, I found it incredibly difficult to get back into it. If you force yourself to do it at a regular time every day (or every weekday) for a few weeks, it will become just a part of your daily routine. Sent from my SM-T820 using BariatricPal mobile app
