September 2019 🍂🍁
Lynda486 replied to Repeatingthoughts's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a little anxious too. I just had my pre op physical today and Tuesday is my pre admission appointment. It is helping to have family here as i really helps pass the time quickly! -
Welcome to the group, and best of luck on your continuing journey!
-
I have a tip: Go to your local library and check out a few. I do this a lot because it is the only real way to preview and find a book I really want!

My surgery is the 16th. I thought it would never get here, but it is coming up fast! Wishing you the best on your journey!

Lynda486 replied to curlygirlgetsfit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good morning Curlygirl, I am also a curly girl, do you follow that method? Anyway, I know that surgery adds those water pounds on, but luckily it comes off quickly! Best of luck on your Journey! -

Wow, that's a good idea, I haven't looked into them yet, but I will now! Thanks! -
My diet is 3 days only and for the same reason.

I just received my pre op diet plan thru e mail. I thought I was on an all clear diet, so I am relieved to know I can have protein drinks also, whew!

I was sleeved 21 years ago and I still chew very thoroughly, guess it because a habit over the years. If you don't chew well, food can get stuck in your pouch and make you vomit to relieve the pressure. I was told that after surgery you should take a bit the size of a nickle or smaller. Put your fork/spoon down and more your hand away from the utensil. Chew your food until it is chewed to liquid. Swallow and wait a few minutes to make sure what you swallowed was not to much for your baby pouch. This will change a bit over time.

Thank-you! I only have to do it for three days, surgery is scheduled for Sept. 16th. Getting a little exited!

When I am looking for a book to buy I go get it at the library first to see if it is what I want. I have bought a few books this way. I live in Amish country so our Library is limited.

VSG surgery scheduled for Monday

Welcome, this is a great place for support and information. I will tell you that I have had over 20 surgeries and I am nervous each time, it is completely normal. I always ask for something to calm me and they usually will give you something like Versed . After that you won't remember anything until you wake up from surgery. I wish you the best and will be watching for your return! -
I had my sleeve 21 years ago and my stomach still talks loud after I eat, very embarrassing!
-
I suspect like you I may end up getting my knees done as well. Arthritis is awful! I also have had three spine surgeries. So it is in my spine too ugh!
-
I bought some "Golden Milk Powder" on Amazon. I contains the Tumeric, black pepper and other spices. Mix with some milk and heat, it is quit delicious!

Was told not to lose weight or surgery would get denied.

You have been through so much and have a lot to deal with. I am so glad your hard work paid off for you! -
Thank-you!
-
You are doing so well, I can only hope I do as well!

I have had both my thumbs rebuilt. Mine was a tendon transfer where they remove the thumb joint and replace it with a tendon in the forearm. I have a little trouble with jars but otherwise not bad. Therapy helped a lot!
