I had my surgery 12 days prior to you and you have lost more weight than I. I have been in a month long stall, but I did just lose 2 pounds. I am 54 and I think I am at the point where I can add in some weights to my routine. I am not sure what age you are, but I love the Richard Simmons "Sweating to the Oldies" he makes it fun and the music is great! Also as Catmouse said, weights add muscle and muscles mean burning more calories. Welcome to the group!

Motivation after the first year
Lynda486 replied to Bypass2018's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never thought of training towards a goal. I have never been super athletic except when I was paired with a football player in the weight room in high-school. He had be leg pressing 380 pounds and my thighs were very muscular. Azhiker, I think this a game changer for me, thanks for sharing the idea! -
I might get called a few names, but I am postmenopausal and I think I had a hot flash once? I have some hormonal issues that have never been sorted out properly. Hoping the surgery does not change that for me 😉

I agree with the above posters, please contact your surgeons office and tell them what is going on. Let us know what you find out, hugs!

At 6 weeks my surgeon said I could do whatever I wanted.

I had it as I healed the first 2 weeks. They sent me home with a contraption to help me breath deep and that really helped!

Dr. V: Why you shouldn't exercise after WLS
Lynda486 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
At least from surgery to 6 months. He does make sense, but when I look back at my first surgery when I exercised daily (no Sundays) and lost 100 in six months. I just wanted to know what you all think of this. https://www.sleeveacademy.com/exercise?cid=89f985b6-0224-4fa3-998d-24f87c146ce6 -

I do, it's simple and if the weather is bad I can walk on my treadmill! -
Single Incision Scars vs. Multi-port Scars from Surgery
Lynda486 replied to LAXGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have had both and would take the Laparoscopic surgery over a one scar surgery. For one, the scar is about a foot and a half long. It is also more painful. I just had my bypass surgery and some of my scars are almost gone. -
11 days post op no restriction with liquids at all just tried yoghurt today no issues either??
Lynda486 replied to New&Improved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mikey- I have maybe felt some restriction once. I am almost two months out. -
I'm using time. Two of my incisions are almost invisible, but the rest are quiet pink. I do know of people including myself that have used Mederma with fair results.

I have watched a few of his videos and I think it is up to the viewer to decide what they believe. I for sure don't buy into everything he says. Thank-you for responding! -
Dr. V: Why you shouldn't exercise after WLS
Lynda486 replied to Lynda486's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
After reading your post I decided to search the web and see what I could find. There are no "news" stories about DR. V, all I could find was hearsay or websites people put up on their own to express their feelings. Nothing substantiated. -
I had one for my first surgery 21 years ago, but back then they did mine open, so I had an incision from my diaphragm to my pubis. I kind of wished for one this time, but I was 2 weeks out when I thought of it.

Can we just be for real ???
Lynda486 replied to november11's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes, looking better is on my list. Mostly though I want my health to improve, be able to participate more and to just feel better. My hubby and I have been married 28 years this coming leap year and he has been by my side and since he is an active person I would like to be active with him! -

Mental Health Evaluation
Lynda486 replied to steph92000's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a little nuts too, but didn't have to do any psych evaluation because I was a revision with many repairs to make. If they only knew..... 🤪 -
I have been eating a lot of chili recently as the weather calls for it. Last night my hubby wanted Subway so I got a 6 inch roast beef and only ate the meat and some of the toppings and I have the other half for lunch today. I have also had brisket and baked beans, lots of soups, half a pot pie (no crust) and scrambled egg with spinach. I am sure there are some I haven't thought of, but I keep it as simple as possible, one new thing per day!
