I am the cook as well and I think the hardest part will be not tasting as I am cooking. There are just 5 of us, so not too difficult, except for the brain games! I plan on eating turkey and FluffyChicks cauliflower recipe (thanks!) And some green beans minus the casserole. I am planning to make a low carb/sugar crust-less pumpkin pie! Anyone got a recipe? -
A revision is when the change you from one type of weight loss procedure to a Gastric Bypass. A VBG is a Vertical banded gastroplasty, that isn't very popular.
-
I had gastritis and they later found a fistula. I had a revision from a VBG in 1998.

Going out to eat...
Lynda486 replied to karlee0206's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We went out to Outback while on a short vacation when I was 3 weeks out. I wasn't planning on eating because I didn't think there was anything I could have. The waitress talked me into having some whipped potatoes and she said no charge! Turned out alright, I felt fine and that was my first meal on the pureed diet. -
I am sorry to hear this! Is it bright red or does it look like coffee grounds? I also was throwing up blood and that is what led me to surgery. Hope it isn't anything serious!
-
Before I had my revision I had no idea there was a thing. I thought I would eventually make it back to my original weight (1998 302) Since nothing I tried was helping. Then came an issue where I developed gastritis, followed by an EGD which confirmed I was vomiting a bit of blood and that I had a fistula. My doc sent me to the Weight loss surgeon and that is when I learned about revisions. I am happy my DR. did this for me and I plan to take full advantage of my new start!

Sounds a lot like the WLS clinic I go to here in Springfield MO. I really appreciate how I can call anytime with questions or concerns. I really like my Nut also! Aside from some complications I am very happy with my surgery. -
Thank-you Caltania!

I decided to measure myself for encouragement, since the scale is moving so slow! I have lost 25 inches from my neck to my thighs!

3 months post op and I hit a stall
Lynda486 replied to Naya.G's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hit a stall early (3 weeks and now I am 6 weeks) For now the weight is starting to come off, but slowly. I am going to add more water to see if that can help! Your weight will begin to come off again! -
What are "Drains" in a Laparascopic Revision Surgery?
Lynda486 replied to almosttogoal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had 2 drains after a tummy tuck. Basically there is a tube that is inside you and anything that comes out of the tube goes into a bulb that you empty and keep track of your drainage. The drainage should become less and less over time and then it is removed. Really no pain at removal it just feels weird! -
Motivation after the first year
Lynda486 replied to Bypass2018's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are inspiring! I don't know if I could do what you have done, but I am going to give it my best. I also think I am in line for at least one knee replacement! Thank-you! -
IM IN A STALL, but im ok...
Lynda486 replied to JAKE H's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I only weigh on Mondays as well. I was weighing everyday and was getting so frustrated because the scale wasn't moving. I am in my first stall, have been for 3 weeks. -
2 week since my gastro sleeve was done
Lynda486 replied to Emma809's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
At two weeks out I was also on the liquid only diet. -
What surgery are you having? I was really nervous too. Just remember at all times why you are doing this. I always ask the anesthesiologist for help with my nerves and they are happy to help!
-
I had my surgery 12 days prior to you and you have lost more weight than I. I have been in a month long stall, but I did just lose 2 pounds. I am 54 and I think I am at the point where I can add in some weights to my routine. I am not sure what age you are, but I love the Richard Simmons "Sweating to the Oldies" he makes it fun and the music is great! Also as Catmouse said, weights add muscle and muscles mean burning more calories. Welcome to the group!

Motivation after the first year
Lynda486 replied to Bypass2018's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never thought of training towards a goal. I have never been super athletic except when I was paired with a football player in the weight room in high-school. He had be leg pressing 380 pounds and my thighs were very muscular. Azhiker, I think this a game changer for me, thanks for sharing the idea! -
I might get called a few names, but I am postmenopausal and I think I had a hot flash once? I have some hormonal issues that have never been sorted out properly. Hoping the surgery does not change that for me 😉
