Did you keep loosing weight a year after the surgery?
Lynda486 replied to Ninja-slash-nerd's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
In 1998 I had a VBG, which is like a sleeve and a band together. I lost 100 pound in 8 months and by month 16 I was at 155. So, yes you can loose indefinitely if you follow your plan! -
I do need new shoes! I tend to wear mine until they are almost useless. Thanks, I hadn't thought of that!
-
You are absolutely correct! It was at a 3% incline! Thanks for the advice!

3 month appt. What I am doing wrong
Lynda486 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my 3 month appointment today and the Dietitian was happy with me except I am not eating enough. I have been getting 500 to 800 calories a day and she wants me at 1200 to 1400 a day. And this is why I have been losing so slowly. When the body doesn't get enough energy from food your body will go into starvation mode and you won't lose! I know we all know this but it is so hard to think about getting all those calories in for fear it will cause gain weight. -
3 month appt. What I am doing wrong
Lynda486 replied to Lynda486's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I will try to up my calories for awhile and see where that gets me. I will either prove or disprove her theory. I will take it slow, up it a 100 calories every few days. If not I will go back to 800 cal a day. -
Pre-OP prep
Lynda486 replied to junesbaby2016@gmail.com's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I quit for 2 years and then my husband and son were in a horrible accident, and a cop on scene gave me a cigarette. I quit again New Years 2019. In the past I had used Chantix which was a nightmare literally. Then a Dr here put me on Wellbutrin. I had to take for a month and then quit. It made it very easy. Good luck as it is a tough battle to quit smoking! -

I drank only shakes yesterday (3) and drank 86 oz of water and this morning I seemed to have broken my stall. I am down 2.5 pounds from yesterday morning and now my BMI is 29.2, in the overweight category, yay!

I think you look marvelous! and your hair! Is it naturally curly?

I did not know that! I thought it was because the food and liquid would stretch the pouch. But what you say makes perfect sense!

No feeling in my stomach is that normal?
Lynda486 replied to Maryalice717's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am three months out as of yesterday and I really don't feel full. I get a pain under my ribs after eating so that is what I go by.... -
This did not happen to me, but others here have had this issue. From what I understand it is a referred pain and probably something to do with the gas left behind. Hope you feel better soon!

I was able to have salmon when I got to soft food stage and it was worth the wait! I have asparagus at least once a week, and I have also had shrimp. Those days will be here for you before you know it. What is your favorite way to prepare asparagus?

I gained 15 pounds while I was in the hospital from all the fluids they pump into you. Took almost 2 weeks to get rid of.

Kidney stones HELP
Lynda486 replied to New&Improved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have 2 children and 6 years ago I had a stone and I will attest it was more painful than child birth! I suddenly had pain and bloody urine. Went straight to the ER and during the CT scan they found an 8 mm stone in my left kidney and a 4 mm in my right kidney. The left was way to big to pass on it's own so I went in that they broke it up ultra sonic waves ( Lithotripsy) -
Hello Dr! Sounds like you are doing an awesome job, 70 pounds in 6 months, wow! The only thing I thought of suggesting to you is that while in the office try to spend as much time on your feet as you can. Or if time allows got for an evening walk. Are you still getting all your protein in? Keep up the good work, you are an inspiration!

It is amazing how much pain and stress on the body can raise your BP. I have been on BP meds for 4 years and after I came home I actually had issues with low BP (71/49). I called my Dr and she agreed to have me come off the meds right away. I haven't checked mine for awhile so I just did and it is 110/70. I am very sure that yours will come down as well.
