June 2019!!! Surgery Siblings!!!
Mrs_Wanderlust replied to BulletWithButterflyWings's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Surgery was 6/18. Today is 7/8, and I have lost a grand total of 12 lbs. since surgery. I'm feeling deflated emotionally. I thought I would have lost more weight by now. What gives? Anyone else s-l-o-w at losing? -
June 2019!!! Surgery Siblings!!!
Mrs_Wanderlust replied to BulletWithButterflyWings's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi! I am 41 years old, have a fantastic, supportive hubby, and two beautiful teens (is that even possible?). I had RnY on June 18th, and surgery went well. I escaped the hospital the day after surgery, and was pleasantly surprised by the lack of pain. I stopped my pain meds the day after surgery, and then stopped Tylenol 4 days post op. The first few days were tough-- just so tired-- but each day gets better than the last. I'm REALLY struggling to drink enough water. I freakin. hate. water. Cold water hurts, so I started drinking room temp (yuk), and today's 'trick' is to drink hot water with herbal tea in it to try to get it in. Anyone have any tips to get the water down? -

June Surgery Buddies! How is everyone feeling?
Mrs_Wanderlust replied to victoriaobe's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had surgery on the 18th. The first 3 days I was pretty wiped out. But after that, each day has been progressively better. In fact, this morning I went outside and walked 2 miles (s-l-o-w-l-y), and felt great. You can do it! I felt that being in the hospital was the worst part. You're in a strange place, without your 'stuff' and everyone in your space. :) Hang in there. -

Protein Shakes

Started full liquids in hospital. Been drinking Glucose Control Boost (blech!). Trying to get to where I'm drinking 4 each day, then I get my full measure of protein in.
