Hi drstan1, I began walking 4 miles every day mon thru Fri, then I began walking at least 6 miles each day mon -Fri. Now I have slowed down my walking but only because I feel great and am cutting back on my eating. I do love getting my fill. After a fill I notice I stop eating a bit. This could be bad too. Once I felt so sick because not eating, trying to get to know my body all over again. My co workers don't know I've had the band they just notice I've lost lots of weight. I didn't want to tell anyone until I felt comfortable that I am doing OK. I guess I didn't want to tell the whole world and I was worried that I might fail, or that the band would have complications. I still working on how am I going to tell them after the fact. Any suggestions. Good advice, I am going to start going to the gym using some lite weights to tone up. I started at 176 and now weigh 158, my goal is 125. aliciarose

This is for all Sorry I haven't written sooner too busy. I was banded 6-6-08 its been 3 months. I am losing average of 4 pounds a month. There are times that I don't feel too great but overall I am fine. If you are thinking of lab band vs the others, I highly recommend lap band or at least check it out get as much info as possible. Pros and cons. my situation is slightly differrent in that I pondered on this for 2 years ever since diagnosed with diabetes type II. FIrst I had to change how I ate and was able to lose about 12 pounds on my own, but because I was only about 60 pounds overweight, I didn't think my insurance would pay but it did 100% because of my diabetes. So check out everything out there. For me it has been worth it. But make sure you change your eating habits first. aliciarose

Hi CarlaG Thanks so much for your words of encouragement. I'm so glad that things are working out for you. I hear stories about people that loose weight, look great and then they lose friends, I guess jealousy? or they think people are changed person, (maybe on the outside huh? Hopeyou don't lose friends. I think I don't want to tell anyone at work for the mere fact that I'm worried I might not be successful. However, if this is successful I think I will then tell them. Why not? right? See, I am also holding back because, two years ago I was diagnosed with Diabetes II and having this surgery is a tool for me to maybe put my diabetes in remission. I have heard great things about it. So the main reason for this surgery first of all is to help me get my health back. And of course lose weight. If I do lose lots of weight and people start asking I will not initially tell them, but willlater on. Sounds to me like you didn't lose lots of weight in a 2 month period but looks like things will begin to happen for you. Good luck. I appreciate any advice for me. My date is June 6th. Did you have to stay overnight? Aliciarose

To CarlaG Thanks for all the great info and advice. It's really nice to hear from someone that had surgery and to be able to go into lots of info. it really gives me a good picture of what I'm about to go into. Do you have any refrets? I too am not telling anyone from work. Just my husband and one sister for support. Do you think you"ll ever tell if you loose lots of weight? thanks and good luck aliciarose

Hi there, congrats that everything is going good. How have the fills been? What are those like? Do you feel any pain when they are done? And how do you feel afterwards? My surgery date is June 6th, I'm a little nervous, but excited at the same time. Are there any advise for before preparations I should worry about? I've heard people have been on a nutritius diet for before surgery, any thing I should be concerned with? Thanks aliciarose

That's great! Can you tell me how was the liquid diet for you? I have been taking a protein liquid drink in the morings to help get me used to doing it for after surgry. I think I have in the process lost a few pounds. Iam drinking 8 oz. drink will it be less after the lap band?

thanks for responding. Yes, I will look into insurance paying for tummy tuck after all this is over. Just wanted to ask anyone out there, how did you feel immediately after the surgery. Were you bedridden or were you up and how did you feel?
