I hate it when people post just to post.....

I used to raise guinea pigs. They're cute. -
Hi, I'm new and really happy to be.

Yes, I was, but, no more! I'm very happy to know that one of my sisters in Christ is going to get banded, too. I've completely eliminated my type 2 diabetes through God and this wonderful tool. My high-blood pressure medicine has also been cut in half the old dose. And, I've lost 56 pds. since my surgery in June of this year. Glory to God! -
Well now it is going to be removed.

I'm so sorry to hear about your problems with the band. But, on the bright side you've already lost a considerable amount of weight, and hopefully learned some new eating habits. Good luck to you, and God bless! I leave you with this: I can do all things through Christ which strengheneth me. Philippians 4:13 -
To answer your question, yes, mine sticks out quite a bit. I had my surgery June 18th '08, and my weight loss has been 28 pounds so far. My port is kinda in the middle of my upper stomach, whereas most people's is kinda toward the side (that's what my aftercare doctor said).

Is there a fill-center near you? I know that fills are really less expensive at those centers. You can go on-line to research for the closest one to you @www.fillcentersusa.com. Hope this helps. -
Question about Taking Meds
taylorwoman1 replied to Ailie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Get a pill cutter for the ones that can be cut. Capsules you can't cut but, I was under the impression that those were OK as long as you could swallow them. I know what you mean about nasty. I tried crushing too, but, ugh! I take 5 in the morning, 1 at noon, and 2 at night. Try the cutter. -
Full liquid ideas please anyone...

GNC carries a product called muscle milk, it has 32 grams of protein per 12 oz. It's surprisingly tasty. If you mix it at home. it's even better! I have a had a hard time keeping my son, husband, and grandkids out of it. As a matter of fact , I will be substituting b'fast for my muscle milk for a long time to come. -
I'm not trying to say I wasn't a little scared myself, but honestly, the surgery was a piece of cake. Everyone, including my surgeon, was the nicest to me. I felt wonderful when I finally awoke(after 12 hrs or so). My symptoms set in the following 2 or 3 days(gas, burping, soreness), but I'm 13 days post- op and feeling great! It was worth it.

Hi, I just wanted to tell you to hang tough, cause it pays off. And then it gets easier when you get to the full liquid stage. Between my pre-op diet, which consisted of protein shakes for b'fast and lunch and clear liquids after being banded on the 18th of June I've lost 12 pds. Yeah me!

Dramamine is over the counter, and I think there are 1 or 2 others. Why not call dr, and an rx?

Your story made me cry. My 15 year old son is disabled from birth, and morbidly obese. I have felt so guilty about my upcoming surgery. We have different kinds of insurance and his won't pay for the surgery. You've given me hope that maybe something good can come out of this for him, too. Thanks! -
thinking about getting this done

I'm 48 years old, and I'm almost 6' feet tall and I weigh 350 pds. All my life I've struggled with my weight . I've gone from slim to really obese, up and down ,up and down. Now, I'm disabled with various dieases including diabetes and high blood pressure. I'm scheduled to be banded on June 18th and am really looking forward to it. I know it's going to be alot of work, but I'm hoping this will be the solution! -
Realization of what's about to take place!!!
taylorwoman1 replied to jkpenny376's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm pre-band also,(June 18th) and have alot of the very same questions and concerns as you. My BMI is 45, so that's another thing we have in common. Just wanted you to know you're not alone. Sorry, I can't be more helpful, but you know I can share my belief that God is control, and tell you to read Romans 8:28. -
I GOT APPROVED!!! Or so i thought!

I know this may sound contrite, but God is in control. I truly do believe when we feel like just throwing up our hands and giving up, we've probably already won the battle!
