Totally blowing it on the supervised diet.
CLOE replied to Constance's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is Stupid! If any of us could lose the weight without the band, we would have. I just don't understand. My heart goes out to you. -
I dont think you can get isopure in canada, or at least so the stores I've been to say. There is a powerbar choc shake I got at zehrs that has 32 grams, but the only problem is that it has 380 calories. I figure that I'm not getting very many calories elsewhere right now, and I want to make sure I get protein, so for now I drink about 1/2 a bottle a day. Let me no if you find anything better.

Sorry, I got Tommy and Woody mixed up.

You'll be banded before you know it loriely! Hey Tommy, I'm not very far from you either, Orillia. Theres a bunch of us around here it seems. Hey, how are the blackflies and moquitos at your place? Fine dining restaurant, EH? I think when we all get to goal, we go out for dinner at your restaurant :hungry: then crash your place for drinks on that deck:cocktail: . LOL

Okay, first of all I'm so sorry to have to ask this question, but.....Did anyone experience constipation after surgery? I am 3 days out of surgery and have just figured out that I havent been to the bathroom in 5 days. Now my body wants to and I can't. I think the pain of THAT is worse than the pain of surgery!! I have been trying to get enough fluids, adding fibre to my water and today have used 2 glycerine suppositories, and nothing. I am in real need of some tried and true solutions:help: .Can anyone help?

Hey Sunshine, how ya doing?:sun: While I'm on here, does anyone know how many grams of protein your suppose to strive for in a day?

Jude - When I told Marie that I weigh everyday, and that I didnt think I could stop (sometimes 4 times a day, but didnt tell her that) she literally got onto the floor and begged me stop and weigh only once a week. That is sooooo hard for me. It's addictive. I have a whole lot more weight to lose, so I lost alot during opti-fast, but it all evens out in the end. You are doing AWESOME! :whoo: :whoo: BEST WISHES ON FRIDAY, JUDE:whoo: :whoo: Footnote....When I was waiting to be put to sleep, I staired up at the ceiling tiles and was picturing all the great spring clothes I was gonna buy next spring....it made me smile;) .

OMG Hubbie just brought me in a Tim Hortons coffee, 1st one I've had since my opti-fast started, May 5th...:faint: ...life is gooood!

I'm with you guys. I do love our southern friends, and have relied heavily on there great advice through-out. But some things just don't apply, example the tylenol thing, and ohip. Maybe it would help is we always added the word canadian in our thread titles?
-
I'm am 5 days post surgery and doing fine!!!! Hey, Wheres Kimtobehealthy, havent heard from you!!!!
-
Great info, thanks guys. The next problem is that I havn't been able to find liquid tylenol in Canada, only sweet, syrypy, gooey childrens kind. You have to drink about half a bottle and I could just puke thinking about it. Does anyone know how I could get it shipped to Canada? Is it agaisnt the law? I have a friend in NC, could she mail some to me?

I'll start! I am 40, but you already know that. I am married for 17 years, and live in Ontario. I live on a farm, we raise lambs, currently we have about 750 of them. I wasn't always farming, I use to be in the beauty industry (one extreme to the other). I have 3 kids. When I got married I weighed 171 (fit into a size 13 wedding dress), after my 1st child I weighed 190, after my second child I weighed 214, after ,my third child I weighed 242, then proceeded to gain 100 more pounds in the last 12 years:eek: . I think I'll stop there for now. I hope this new thread will be fun. By the way,I am 5 days post-op and feel fantastic!!

I had to do optifast for 3 weeks:omg: ! The first 2-4 days were awful. I litterally spent all my extra time in the bedroom with the TV. It's tough, but it is totally worth it. My surgeon said he was concerned before my surgery if I hadnt done the optifast properly, but when he was inside he said he knew I had followed the diet because everything was perfect and made surgery a breeze. It is totally worth it to stick to it. I posted little stickys on the cupboards representing each day I had left till surgery, it gave me great pleasure to rip one down each evening. The day of the surgery you'll be sooooo proud of yourself, it's a great way to start. Good Luck!!!

mystjin - I had the same thing until just this morning. It drove me crazy, too. I just kept taking gasx, using heat pads, and tapping it(like burping a baby). Good Luck, next thing you'll know it'll be gone. GOOD LUCK TO THE REMAINDER OF THE MAY BANDSTERS! outdoorgirl escudero012004 kato MarionJean minimandy ashagirl

:opps2: AAAHHHHH, I'm soooooo sorry. I had posted so many times before my surgery, I was trying to cover them all when I got back. I kinda ran out of steam before I got to them all:notagree . But of course I should have started with my great Canadian bandster friends first:canada: . Please accept my apologies. Okay here goes...(by the way it was so neat to see you all thinking of me ) Got to the clinic around 7:00, talked to Marie for a bit, she weigh'd me, blood pressure etc...Then Dr. Cobourn came in talked to my husband and I for a minute, then I met the anestegiolist(?). I wasnt at all nervous, the nurse came and got me and took me to OR, they did the iv, kinda got me ready(still not nervous) all the team is totally nice. They were rubbing my arms and legs, it took a minute to knock me out. Next thing I remember I was waking up to another great nurse. She was right there with water, warm towels, gasx. Dr. Cobourn came out, said everthing was perfect(should have been for 3 weeks of opti-fast:eek: ). Left to go home about 1 hr later. Slept most of the day. Had a bit of a mental breakdown around 3:30 am (I think I had shelved my nervousness, and it had to come out sometime:Cry: ).Now I feel great:clap2: ! Love to here from you guys. All you Canadian Bandsters coming up....Give us your surgery dates so we can all send you some energy, you wont need luck, you'll sail right through it!

Sorry Letty I think I mislead you. We, my husband drove, home from surgery. I didnt type that very well. 3loves glad to hear your alright. PBing already, that sucks. I woke up last night around 2 am with the sweats and my mouth was watering, I thought for sure I was going to puke. I quickly shoved 2 chewable gravel in my mouth and walked around for a while. It seemed to work. I too take effexor, I open the capsule put the med on my tongue and wash it down with soup. What a pain in the butt, I wish I didnt need to take it. Keep in touch. jude048 you will love Dr. Cobourn and his staff. There all wonderful. You will do just fine. He even called be the next day to see how I was. Good Luck to you!

I'm Back and Banded:clap2: ! Had my surgery on Friday, went in at 7:15 am and left to drive home at 11:15 am. My surgeon said everything went excellent and he used a 4cc band. I have no appetite. Just drinking water and jello, thats all I want. I'm kinda tired, but I think cause I'm not taking very many calories. Incision pain just about gone, as well as the gas pain. I'm soo glad for the band. Good Luck to all the other May Bandsters!
