Hey Betty, how are you doing, anyway. It's been a good week now, you must be runn'n marathons, no?

I just realized how nasty this post makes me sound. I'm not a negative person, and I know there are thousands upon thousands of wonderful Docters out there. My apolgies to THOSE Docters!

Does LapBand Do Damage/Dent Stomach After A Certain Amount of Time?

This is a great thread. Even though guidlines are laid out, it seems everyone has a little different take on it. I have not had a fill yet. But what I'm finding is that if I do graze a little (on good things) which your not suppose to do, I have a easier time at my meal because I don't have the tendency to eat so fast and stuff. I'm still having trouble controlling the bingeing at times. Even if I'm bingeing on mashed potatoes. Apparently I'm still losing weight, I'm not to sure why, at times I'm very full, but bottom stomache full, not pouch full.

I don't know much about Gastric Bypass, but how do you gain weight after that?
-
This is good information. When you talk to the experts they tell you what they ultimately want you to do, but the reality is , is that it is difficult to fit it all in. I was kinda beating myself up a little when I wasnt reaching all the goals, and inevitably I beat myself up by eating wrong things so I don't want to do THAT!! If anyone has read some of my posts they probably have figured out that I'm a little impatient and kinda a perfectionist, these are my biggest hurdles. Thanks for helping:)

 Welcome Back Mandi, Glad you arrived safe!!

I'm excited!! Tonight myself and my two girlsfriends(since kindergarden) are going out for dinner! I havn't been to a restaurant since surgery, I know I have to be careful about what to select, but I'm very excited. Also, I havn't told either one of them about my banding. I told them I had a little news to share (now they think I'm pregnant:eek: ) . I put a brochure in my purse to help explain what I did, that usually helps. Anyway, big night out!!:hungry:

:happybday2: Happy Birthday DrewsLou!!!

I also had the same concerns you do, a few months ago. I believe it was Alexandra that explained to me that after a few years of be banded and healthy alot of people move on. Usually the ones with complications stay for support and to help others. Maybe that makes it seem like more than usual, people have complications, while the ones who don't are out there enjoyed there new slimer healthier lives!!

Thanks Loriely, I lost 27 pounds during 3 weeks pre-op diet. I have an awful lot to lose, I'm sure it will slow up as I go along. I hope it dosent, but Im sure it will.

Well, had a great night out. I actually enjoyed a glass of wine before dinner. I know, I know, no drinking before meals! It can't hurt once in a while right? I did it anyways , . I ordered chicken sauteed in mushrooms, red peppers and tomatoes. Roasted potatos and beans. It was all very tender, but I cut very small peices and chewed until I thought my jaw would fall off. NO PROBLEMS!! I had to bring over half of it home for hubbie. My friends were very excited and are very happy for me. But having them there after telling them was good precaution for me, I certainly didn't want to PB in front of them, then they would think I was crazy to have had the surgery.

Hi Buffie. Your weight loss has been great so far!! Just concentrate on healing, do what the Dr. wants. A few days will go by, and boom a few more pounds gone and onto more than clear liquids. It helped me to go to my bedroom, watch TV and relax and heal.(away from the kitchen) Take advantage of this time to do nothing but sit(and a little walking to please the doc). Before long life will be asking more of you again.

Congratulations, Leila and Betty!!!! Keep us informed on how its going, every day you'll feel better and better.:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

I was one of those fat people in complete denial. I bought a new outfit for a wedding in February, thought I looked pretty good.......until I saw the pictures!! OMG..I saw a pitcure of my poor husband dancing with me, he couldn't even come close to putting his arms around me, it was a very sad picture, along with other pictures that were totally gross. That was it, like a brick in the face. Booked my consultation the following Monday!! Never looked back.

Hang in there, if we were all diet pros we wouldnt need the band, right? Having said that, try, really try hard to stick to it, it will help you so much in preparation for surgery!! Don't be too hard on yourself, pat yourself on the back when you have a good day!!
-
Way to go Buffie!! Surgery is behind you now, no where to go but up(or down-in weight that is). Every day will be better, in 1 week you'll feel great, 2 weeks you'll be awesome, in 3 weeks like someone else(pinch yourself, it's you with a bright future).:high5:  :high5:

I also agree, you need to listen to your body. It's weird your dr. wants you doing that. most other drs. want you to stay on liquids as long as possible.

Have a safe trip, Mandi! Let us know when you arrive:wave:

I want to be like Murples!! I am only 3 wks post-op and have no restriction. Im still on soft food and I'm sure could eat as much as I want. And some days I have. I have even eaten not so soft food with no problem. I want to call for a fill, but I feel like such a pig!!!

I would like to ask some pro bandsters about feeling full. I am 3 weeks out, I'm on softer food, but eating alot of mushies still. My question is...when you feel full, do you feel it up top where your pouch is or down lower where the lower part of your stomach is? I am assuming because I'm eating lots of liquids and mushies still, that most of it is going right threw, but I'm eating alot more than people who have had a fill, and I'm feeling full in my lower stomach, like when I was pre-band. What do you think?
