astrotoes, Dr. Cobourn told me that if I wanted to have carbonation, like pop and beer, go ahead, but, be aware of calories. I believe that carbonation really bothers banders that may already have indigestion problems, especially prior to banding. Some surgeons say NO to carbonation, so make sure you listen to your doc!! Yoda, I too read that about neenaugh, we must have been to the same bathroom stall, it was at a truck stop I believe.lol Mandi, well Mandi, what can I say..................I'm glad everything so far hasn't gotten stuck in your 'hole'. u hem :ermm .............................................................................................:zip:

Good Morning ljgnorth!! Welcome!!!! The pre-op diet is very hard, no crap, it is hard. BUT, it is only 2 weeks. In my case it was 3 weeks, YUCK!! I have to say that I didnt cheat at all, I don't know why, if you knew me the way I know me, you'd wonder how the heck I ever did it. But my surgery went perfect, and I've had no problems at all. So, ya, it really is worth the 2 weeks of hell. When your going crazy, come on here and talk to us.

Ooooo poor neenaugh, I hope you can get some relief soon. Just curious though, if he wasn't very keen on the fill, why give you as much as 1.5??? or was that what you wanted???:phanvan

OH YA!!!! It was 'bring it on' time.:hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: !!! Perfectly normal, not neccesaraly good to do, but perfectly normal. I did experience frustration with (out) bingeing after being banded. It was probably the worst about 1 month later for a couple of months. It was however spuratic and coming here always helped with the venting. Even though I would be lying if I told you I never felt like tieing into a pizza. When you start to feel real good, and the pounds are coming off, it is way easier. I also find that for the most part I enjoy food more. I enjoy the flavours and the atmosphere, etc... Probably because we have no choice but to take our time and chew, chew, chew. We are forced to enjoy it, lol. Hope that helps.
  13. Best Wishes Mookie!!!! Woo Hoo, sooo exciting!!!!

Hey, WELCOME Tres Chic!!!!! It's okay to be nervous, we all were!! Think of it like standing in line for the best rollar coaster ride ever. Waiting is the hardest part. Well, the pre-diet isnt great either, but thats only temporary!! Best Wishes, and talk away!!

Good Morn'n Maggie!!! I know how you feel, there's lots to think about, I'll just give you my version, take what you need. I too was scared and nervous. I was sooooo releived to find this website, people are great!!! The pre-op is difficult, but not impossible and you have all us to come and vent with, that helps!! Lap-Band is the most exciting thing you'll ever do for yourself. It's going to be a very exciting time for you. I'm still flying now and it's been like 7-8 months. Tell who you think you want to share with. I personally only told my hubbie, kids and parents. Then when I was comfortable I told other people. I have just recently (prior to x-mas) told all my friends. Obviously, they've known somethings up, but I just confirmed it. They have been hugely supportive, but I feel, that without the significant weight loss first, maybe they would have not of been, dunno. Since telling anyone who wants to know, I have had 4 people call me for information. That makes me feel real good, that maybe I can help someone else too. This is a very exciting time!!! Be happy and inspired, but know it's perfectly normal to be nervous!! Come talk to us, we love to help!
  17. Oh ya, geesh, April. nevermind:o ....... :girl_hug:
  18. Okay, somewhere I missed this all-together. When are you going????
  19. Yes, Dr. Cobourn will prescribe to you a huge botle of liquid codiene. I only took it once the first night, just to make sure I had a good sleep. Unfortunately, a few weeks later I threw the whole bottle out thinking I didnt need it. Oh Man, what an idiot I was!!! I could have used the 'self induced down time' a few times since then. KEEP THE BOTTLE!!!!

  22. Good Luck Doriana, you'll do great!!!
  23. Wheezy, your sooo smart!!! I also had a elevated WBC count in my pre-op (probably the massive kidney infection that was brewing in my body for the past year!!!) Anyway, my doc put me on antibiotics as a precaution because of the surgery. She said it was no biggie, so did Dr. C. BTW, I think your lucky you can see your sexy toes. That would have been a struggle for me prior to surgery, lol!
