This is no joke. I don't know how. First of all,I feel real bad posting this. I pride myself in my ability to be positive(mostly). So I don't like this negativity that I'm feeling, however, I am feeling it. It sounds stupid but I have never learned how to deal with stress. I have an addictive personality, whether I was born with it or not, but I have always dealt with stuff threw it. I haven't had to deal with alot of trauma in my life(I know, lucky me). But since my teens, I've just dealt with problems with whatever method I was using at the time. So, since my banding I havent have my food crutch ( which is GREAT), but know what do I do? I have been doing my crafts lately like my hands are going to come off. At this rate I'm going to have to rent 6 tables at my craft shows to sell everything. I don't know what else to do. I know how stupid this sounds, and I know people are going to think, what a suck, get over yourself, because I THINK THAT! But, that dosent help. I found out yesterday that my oldest daughter, (the one that moved out before Christmas, with the 22 year old, 5 years older than her boyfriend). Has now quite school!!! WTF!!! How do you deal!!! Actually, what I did was, went to A&W ordered 2 Teen burgers, went to Timmys, ordered chocolate milk and cookies( a year ago, it would have been 4x as much). Went and parked, like an addict looking for his next hit, I envisioned the food soothing all. Well, we know what happened, I took one bite and got stuck, duh. So now I'm really pissed!!!! Eventually ate 1 burger, minus most of the bun, drank the milk and 1 cookie. Threw the rest out!!! My head is soooo not into my band right now. I wanted to get another fill but don't dare. I'll probably blow my esophogus up!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I don't know what to do, nothing seems to be in my control. I know I sound like a rambling freak!!! I'm really not a freak, honestly. I just don't know how to deal without a vice??? Any suggestions would help:phanvan . Thanks

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! No hope about it. You can do it. Just keep telling yourself its just a few days. Then don't forget, you can always come here and vent away.
-
You should really get the surgeon or even your GP to give you liquid codiene. Man that stuff is good. I was stupid and threw mine out after, since then there have been many times I woulda liked to have been in that codiene world again.lol.

Astrotoes, I only told immediate family, and I was lucky they were very supportive, oh ya I told one friend I could trust. Everyone else I told a few months post-op, and quite a few pounds later. I kinda wanted people to see it was working before I told them what I did. Now, I'm an open book. I tell everyone. I've even given out half a dozen pamphlets. Good Luck everyone with there pre-op diet. Lots starting this week. Enjoy your last supper, but remember, you'll still get to eat it later, just not bucketfulls!!

Mandi, I think with a full body lift they'll do under your arms and lift the breasts too. But I'm not 100% on that, could be more.

Only a couple more days blownaway. Remember, everything is healing in your tummy. Be careful. -
Good Luck to you guys, remember 'ONLY TEMPORARY' !!!! Andrew, when Dr. C told me 3 weeks I thought he handed me a death sentence. I kept thinking '3 WEEKS', I cant do weight watchers for 3 days!!! I had to totally pysch myself up. I counted out the exact number of pouches I needed, lined them up in the cupboard, put 63 post-it stickys up on my cupboard, and everytime I drank my meal I would rip it down, rip it up and look at the cupboard to watch the postys getting less and less. I guess, for me it helped to see the 'visual', to see I was making progress. I had a wicked headache day 2-3. I tried eating celery just to feel my teeth chew, but I found not eating anything was better. I got to tell ya, it was not easy. But it wasnt as hard as I thought either. I think the anxiety of knowing I had to do it was worse, besides the huge reward at the end was totally worth it!!! Good Luck to you, check in here often, that really helps!!

Andrew, I was told only opti-fast, and if I wanted to, a few greens, like celery, lettuce, spinach. I'm thinking they did'nt mean green jello, lol. Wouldnt hurt to call and find out though.
-
Oh, good to know wheezy, thanks. Wheezy, your like sooooooooooooo smart!!
-
ALOT! I went to the drugstore and compared the two. In order to get one adult dose it was almost like half a bottle of childrens. Honestly, after the first night, I did'nt take anything.
-
Nancy, I asked my doc if there was a parent help-line or something, where yo can call to get you over the hump. She said not anymore, gov cut-backs, geesh. Ya some therapists just make the situation worse I think, then they guilt you into feeling you can't leave, like a cult!! lol I just think they should make teenagehood against the law! That would do it!! Good Luck to you!!!!!
-
I had to be on Opti-fast for 3 weeks, I could not have coffee because I drink mine with cream. I'd rather not drink it at all if I have to drink it black. But let me tell ya, that 1st cup of coffee after surgery, it was better then.....well, you know!!! it was great!!! Who all starts there pre-surgery diet THIS week????? There's so many new people here, Ive lost track.

Yoda, I was wondering if you had something to say?????? :) I'm just kidding!!!! My, I must be feeling better.
-
Someone get Mandi a cough-candy......................Yoda, thats fantastic!!! Awwweee and Mr. Yoda, what a sweetheart!!!! Love ya Mandi:huggie: BTW, this is suppose to be a hug???? Looks like zombie girl escapes mental institution. No???

Hi Mandi, I actually tried watching the video, but my stupid dial-up there was no-way. I would have been uploading it for months. Too bad, I would have liked to watch it. Hey, you know, 188, isn't that big. I'm sure you can go in to normal stores and get stuff. Ya gotta go in with attitude, girl!!! When I got married, One Thousand years ago, I wore a size 12 wedding dress, I weighed 172. Thats just around the corner for you. BTW.....we want recent pics from you!!!! You looked drop-dead gourgeous last time. Can't imagine how you look now. We may not be able to talk to you anymore, yaknow.

You can't buy liquid tylenol in Canada. So your only options are a script from the clinic, or childrens tylenol. You will also need a pillow, bottled water, compfy clothes, hmmmm, I'll think of some more in a while. I'm sure others will think of some too. But you really need someone with you. Honestly, 3 weeks after surgery, your going to be just fine. I'm assuming Carmen is your mate. Get them on here, so we can tell them!!!

You guys are ALL so great! I really do appreciate all your encouragemnt. I think I may be coming around, slowly but surely. Lila, what you said about blaming yourself I can totally relate too. I keep running over and over in my head. Was it the time I yelled at her before school? or Was it the time I was too busy talking on the phone? etc, etc...I keep re-living all the things I can remember that I wish I did different, thinking maybe that's why she's doing this. I am thinking this 'teenage thing' is kinda like childbirth. Everyone tells you how hard it will be, then when labour starts you think, it couldnt possibly be this painful. I just thought out of all my kids, this one would have been the last that I thought would do this. So, I'm slowly climbing out of this hole. It is definatley a 'guilt thing', that my husband dosent feel. He dosent like the situation, but he has no guilt. Thank-you to everyone, HONESTLY, it really helps to talk, and I would hope to be able to re-pay the favour anytime in the future. So, relating this to the band......if this had of happened last year, I would be in a food coma right now. I would weight about 10 lbs more, and I would be deeper in the hole. So, alas, I LOVE MY BAND.......and you guys!!

good morning blownaway, I wouldnt worry to much. Are you experienceing burning, if not, I don't think it would be reflux. I would try warm liquids today, see if that helps. Like tea, herbal tea, warm chicken broth. Remember tiny, tiny sips. Try not to take in any air with your sips. Try to relax as much as possible. Don't forget, your still healing. Remember, always call your surgeon in doubt, thats what there there for. I wouldnt worry to much, I think you'll be okay. -

Thanks guys, I know it's just temporary, but I'm sooo use to fixing it right away(with a vice), which, I know isnt a fix at all. I feel like I'm going to blow up. I'm sad, anxious, furious, apalled, embarrassed, disappointed, etc...all at once. I don't think I could sit and think about it, I would just ball my head off for days. Jack, snikker, my house has never been cleaner, we could literally eat off the floors. But I would prefer to be happy living in a pig sty(well, not quite). Wheetsin and Bandiva, thank-you for sharing your experience. I also was a goof, as most of us were. But gosh, I just keep thinking she just turned 17!!! I'm so heartbroken. BTW Sherrylynn, I'm north of T.O. a couple of hours.

LOL, sorry, I just got a vision of you sitting on the couch, slimed with beans, screaming for a towel, lol. On a serious note, please take care.
