RELAX!!!! You are not supposed to have lost many lbs yet. It took me 3 months to get the fills correct and start getting restriction. I started @ 468 and am now in the 390s. The tool will only work when it is filled. Please do not get down on yourself. Get walking as much as you can everyday and get that fill. Then if you are still hugry get another. Please try and be positive about every step. I know looking at it now you might be a bit disapointed but man once you hit restriction and get some exercise you are going to have the wieght coming off in sheets. More than anything you have got to be POSITIVE. Get back to me if I can help in any way. aphilley@comcast.net.

moving to Vancouver, Washington and need a doctor there
headap replied to MimiMac's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, welcome to Washington. You will be about 1.5 hours away from my Dr., Dr. Neal. He and his staff are amazing. They do all fills via xray. His web is Pacific Surgical-Contact Us. -
Hi all, just had my 4th fill 3 days ago. In the area by the port I have a giant bruise. Is this normal? AP

As I gained weight my sweating got worse and worse. Now that I am loosing weight it is getting better and better. I no longer sweat going up stairs or simply walking around the shop. I do not know if the lack of sweat is due to loosing the pounds or to the amount of work I do at the gym. Either way it is nice and I am sure you will see the same results. As a point of reference I am 6'5'' and was hitting the scales at 468.; I am now down to 417.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> AP<o:p></o:p>

Bea, I had the same thing happen at McDonalds. My 4 year old was not crying but he would not come down and I needed to leave. How cool is it to have things like your past to be able to re-live and beat? I bet by the next time ya'll go to the waterpark you will be able to go down that slide! How cool would that be? AP

string hanging out of port incision
headap replied to webbgirl259's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not an issue. When I went in for my first fill they saw my string sticking out and pulled it. I hated having that thing stick out. It tickled. Anyway do not fret, they will take care of it at your fill. AP -
Nice!! I am heading in for my 3rd today. Restriction was gone very quickly. AP

We now live at the Y. I have a 4 year old (he is in swim lessons, soccer, ballet and itsy bitsy fun sports) and an 18 month old (she is in swim lessons) all part of the monthly cost. My wife and I lift and do cardio and use the sitting service. Have not felt fit enough to try any classes.

What is your NEW favorite/least favorite body part?
headap replied to Jennie1976's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My face is really looking good, and I'll be damned if I really have a neck. I wonder if I have an adams apple, time will tell. My wife really likes a certain part of me that has started to come out of hiding. Sex is getting REAL good. -
Allow me to introduce myself. Hello my name is Andy, I am from the Tacoma, Washington area. A brief history......... Was in bad health, back hurting, high BP 160/100. I am 6'4'' and have always been big. Senior year of high school I hit the scales at 300. Being this tall with a large build I always could "carry it well". I was at the Dr. for bp pills and a beta blocker when he told me about the lap band. I was interested, went to the seminar with my wife and I was hooked. BUt.....17,000 USD ouch. Checked with the insurance - DENIED. I still did not know what I wieghed but I knew I was at least 380. I was able to get a loan on my 401K, drain my savings and my great mother-in-law kicked in the rest. I called and scheduled my consult. When I got to the office I hit the scale @ 468. 468? What? Even putting this into words hurt. How did I let myself get to this? Well, I scheduled myself for the band. Went on medi-fast for 2 weeks. That stuff sucks!! But I did it and lost about 15lbs. Had my surgery on 4/15/08. Went well. Dr. Neal is amazing and so is his staff. Since the surgery I am always hungry but I think 468 no way. I am at the gym everyday and will only eat my small meals. It is a little better since my fill but I feel like I could still eat a horse. I cheat every now and then but NOTHING like before. Went to the Dr. today and I am in a good mood. I am down 48 lbs, my bp is 120/70 and I am down 1 pant size. You guys know how hard it is and having no peers I had to reach out to someone. I am sure when I started this I was the fattest guy in the world, I am changing, soon I might not be. AP
