Angel... You'll develope a NEW normal very quickly. I was scared before banding also and wondered if I'd ever eat steak, etc. again and the answer is Yes I can still eat steak..I just eat it in smaller pieces and different cuts that are more tender. I can't eat bread anymore and I loved bread...but after getting it STUCK a few times you really don't miss it anymore. I honestly do not miss it at all. Banding is the best thing I ever did.

I don't know what's going on in each of your lifes but maybe she feels like the friendship revolves more around what's going on with you and in your life then what's going on in hers? Maybe she doesn't feel she's getting equal time with her issues? I have no idea. I've been in your shoes though and I know it's hard. I haven't spoke nor seen my best friend since the third grade in a year now and we live 2 miles apart in the same small town. It's very painful.

One of my worst PB's was on my way home from work. Since I got the band when I get hungry I have to eat NOW! so I stopped at a gas station for gas and decided to grab a hot dog (this was just after my first fill) and I got in the car and took one small little bite off the end and pulled out on the road. I chewed chewed chewed and as soon as I swallowed it was STUCK really really bad. My mouth started filling with saliva and I was in 5 oclock traffic so I was trying to find a place to pull over because I had nothing to PB into. I finally pulled off the side and threw my door open and started throwing up as people are driving by staring at me like I'm the side of the road freak show! hahaha. I cringe everyday I drive by that spot now. One night me and DH were at our friends house and the wife made homemade honey wheat bread and served it and I decided to try a small bite (I'm an idiot, I know) and major stuck! Of course we were all sitting there talking with no background sound and I rush into the bathroom and throw up twice before its unstuck and they could hear the whole thing! UGH! hahahaha. But it's a small price to pay for smaller pants!

I also have PCOS and have always had trouble with periods. Up until a month after I got my band I had never started my period on my own before. I always had to take the pill to get a period. I had one in October, then again in November but in december I started having them twice a month and then would spot a few days... then nothing a few days. It was very all over the place. I finally went in and decided it was time to get back on birth control because I still have over 100 pounds to lose to goal so I got the nuva ring. I put it in and all was fine until I started my period 4 days before I was supposed to take it out. So I removed it early and within a few days I was having the worst period of my life. I bled over tampons and pads together every 2 hours. It lasted two weeks and I went back on the pill and it still didn't completely stop it so after a week on the pill and still bleeding I went to my obgyn and she doubled up my pills for 3 days and said she's not sure what caused it to be that bad. I also got a yeast infection from the heavy bleeding for 2 weeks. She said that was common. I'm just now recovering from it. I'm never using nuva ring again! hahahaha. I'm now taking Yaz birth control pills and I'm much happier. I was on ortho tri cyclin for probably 7 or 8 years. Sorry if this is TMI

did any of you have the flu since banding? I think I have it. Yesterday I threw up and hadn't even eatin and I threw up so hard it scared me. I burst some blood vessels in my face from it. My band isn't hurting though but it scared me bad. Have any of you had the flu??

congrats on the surgery date!!!! That's great! Sue is wonderful. She's one of my favorite people there besides Dr. Boutt! Did you like Dr. Bhesania? I've met him once and didn't like him at all. Glad I got the doctor I did. Good luck with Hubby's approval. I wish my hubby would get lapband.

At 7 months out I'm at 42 pounds lost. some of the clothes I own are getting loser but I went shopping a few weeks ago and I still can't fit in the smaller sizes. It's very discouraging. I haven't lost any clothing sizes. I've vowed to just stay away from clothing stores from now on. You guys have all done great and I'm proud of you!

I'm a Port Huron Lapbander. I had surgery on August 3rd by Dr. Boutt! *yummy* and I love the lapband center and him. I've lost 42 pounds so far and things are going great. I am a state employee with BCBS PPO also. My insurance covered me with no issues. I did have the letter from my doctor with the 12 months of weight loss attempt history. If you need any info or advise feel free to msg me or put it on here. I love Port Huron! I live outside Lansing but it's worth the drive!

I got another fill on tuesday. I'm at 1.6 in a 4cc band. I lost another 6 pounds putting me at 42 down.

Ok so I'm back. I had my appt with my lapband dr on Tuesday. I've lost 6 pounds in the past 6 weeks putting me at -42. I got another fill which is working well for me. I'm at 1.6 now. Glad to be back!

I just got one for christmas and was having fun with it but felt like I couldn't figure out a routine with it so I went online and ordered FAT-TO-FIRM FITNESS BALL WORKOUT FOR DUMMIES. I used it the firsts time and I could barely walk for 2 days. I love it though Any other fitness ball dvd's or workouts anybody can recommend?

My hubby is one of those guys. Loves me even at 393 pounds. He's terrified I'll leave once I'm skinny. He's insecure. I think some women leave their husbands once they lose the weight because insecure men become jealous and hound the hell out of you because they think you're leaving when you're not. We're having some issues with that because at just 40 pounds lost he's already trying to make me account for every second he doesn't know where I am, who I'm with and what I'm doing.

Turner...YAY!!!! That's AWESOME! I know how exciting that is. Growing up my brother played G.L.A.H.A. hockey and we traveled a lot for his games and tournaments. It's always so exciting for the players and families. Congrats!!! Welcome back too

Hey all. I'm back. I've been sick the past four days with flu like symptoms. I didn't throw up (thank god) but I did have the runs like nobodies business. I lost the 6 pounds I gained plus an extra pound so I'm happy about that. So far today Ive had two pieces of wheat toast. For lunch I'm having a small piece of lasagna (might change my mind because I'm thinking about not having the carbs) and for dinner meatloaf and veggies.

I call my hubby Boogie Bear. hahaha. He doesn't care for it but it's stuck. For short I call him Boogs. hahaha.
