I ate a lot of campbells soup at hand. it has no chunks in it and it's very smooth, about 100 calaries for each container. I'd only be able to drink half of it so I have half for lunch and half for dinner. The vegatable medley is REALLY good!

I had the gas pains for about three days. I was allowed to shower the next day and I had steri strips on my incisions.

Welcome back Libra! Glad you're back and I'm sorry you had a reaction. We're glad you're here! I got my scale today and I'm down 11 pounds since surgery two weeks ago! YAY!

The dasani flavored water is pretty good but my favorite drink is Propel Strawberry-Kiwi! 10 calories and it's sooooooooooooooooooooo good! Even my husband drinks it and he usually will drink nothing but mountain dew (yuck!)

Thanks for the warning. ick! I hope you get relief soon!!! -
I'll join when I get home. No myspace access from the office.

Ummmmm... Yikes! I found the video amusing myself. Just shows how we educate ourselves in things that aren't that important I guess. I know personally I couldn't name any of the Justices. I can tell you who the 7 dwarfs are though. Thanks for the laugh tired old man. I'll try and educate myself a little more. Btw... I don't think you harbored any terrorists from 9/11. That statement in itself is pretty overboard.

Yay Glock!!! Welcome to band life!!! I'm so glad you're back!

My first job was pushing carts and bagging groceries for a grocery store called Meijers. I worked there for a year and lost 80 pounds during that time from being out on the lot pushing rows of carts into the store for hours and hours. I kind of miss it. Those were the easy days.

Hang in there Brandy and Kat. I know exactly how it is. That's why me and my MIL have NO contact anymore. Good luck!
-
Welcome to the group Tim! Glad you made it through fine. I hear you about not sleeping on your side or stomach. I eventually woke up and was sleeping that way anyhow. hehehe.

can I ask why you want a big oak tree?

Oh my GOD I just lost it here at work! HAHAHAHAHA! That's so classic! People freak out when they hear the word "port" and think I have this device strapped to my side for the rest of my life. Then they get freaked at the thought of it being under your skin... like having your insides rearranged and a bunch of usless stomach and intestine hanging in there isn't freaky?? I also get people thinking that my stomach has been removed or something and I have a balloon in there that the food goes into. They only listen to key words and ignore the rest.

I found out I have severe sleep apnea and I have a cpap too but I hate the mask that came with it. Everytime I sleep on my side it leaks and I rarely make it through a night without taking it off.

Why not Paul? They have two different kinds in aisle 5 right next to the bathroom scales and pound cake!

I'm 393 pounds and having surgery on Thursday. I can not for the life of me find a bathroom scale that's not going to break the bank but goes up to 400 pounds. Anybody here know of a retail store that might have one? I tried walmart this morning. Highest it got was 350. Thanks
-
Julie.. I did buy my scale from Old Will Knott and it's GREAT!!! Thank you soooooooo much!
-
neenagh...what a beautiful baby! You ARE doing the right thing. I'm SO happy I did this. It's been less then two weeks since my surgery and people notice a difference in my face already. My pants are feeling loose. Isn't that worth it? Your health is VERY worth it!
-
Paula... I think you'll be ok to have a little something. There's people that are eating toast and cheese sticks while in the hospital before being sent home. You've GOTTA be ok.

My doctor told me that even with light weight work I'd probably need 2 weeks off to adjust and get rest. I was back to work in 4 days and even though I'm only getting about 30 grams of protien a day and between 500 and 1000 calories I haven't been too tired. I notice I'm exhausted at night but otherwise I'm still able to do everything I want for the most part. Not 100% but pretty close. Considering I just had surgery I never expected myself to be 100% afterwards. There's always an adjustment for your body to go through. Hang in there Caroline... the tired feeling won't last forever:)

just heard about "the band"
Josette replied to racermom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
racermom... I feel great. I was sore a few days but I had my surgery on a Thursday morning. Was released from the hospital on Friday at 2pm. I was back to work Monday morning at 8am. I did fine and I only took pain meds for three nights and only at bedtime to help me sleep comfortable. I'm not sure yet how much I've lost because my scale hasn't arrived yet but I notice a big difference in my clothes already. Yippie! If you have anymore questions, ask away. I'm an open book! -
Caroline... I do find myself more tired then usual. I too am taking in between 600 and 900 calories. It's very strange to me eating as little as I am. I decided today to do the calorie count from an average day preband and it was around 3000 for one day! YIKES! Good luck to all you getting the band in the next few days! I know how nervous you are. It's so exciting! I was banded on a Thursday and was back to work that Monday. Just depends on your pain tolerance I think. I was up and walking to my own bed an hour after surgery and tearing laps around the floor 2 hours after surgery. Don't get me wrong.. I was really sore and the gas pain made me miserable but it was all worth it. Let us know how you're doing as soon as you can!
