serious depression :( enter at your own risk
Josette replied to waterlily1072's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Kellie... the qoute on the bottom if your msg is SO true!!! During times of stress, troubles and trials a thing good to remember is to take one day at a time. We don't need to worry about the past. It's already done. We don't need to worry about the future, it's not here yet. JUST TODAY. If we can learn to make the best of each day and in really difficult times just make it through this day.. one day at a time.. we will make it. Molly, Hang in there girl! I've been very depressed lately too. With hubby losing his job with Ford we are struggling financially already and the anniversary of mom's death is coming up. I'm eating so much stuff that's not good for me and I tell myself "atleast I'm not eating as much as I used too and I'll only do it until after the anniversary" BLAH! I'm in denial huh? Can I come over and we'll hang out in our Jammies??? Hang in there girl... it'll get better! -
polar bears (not the coca cola ones) and german shepards

ohhh... Good one! Safety Dog or Cat

congrats Kel. It snowed on my day and it was outside and it was perfect

I have really dry flaky skin right now also. My face is horrible. I went to my marykay friend and she wants me to use the microderm abrasion on my face but I think that might make it more dry. Hmmmmmm

I loveeeeeeeeeeee Veggie Tales!!!!! I got a veggietales CD from my nephew a few years ago and have every song on it memories. "My little cheeseburgerrrrr... my little cheeseburgerrrrr" hahaha Silly songs with Larry! I need to go home and find that cd now. I can't wait to have kids and get them singing that cd. "Everybody's got a waterbuffalooooo...your's is fast and mine is slow!" hahahaha

Need Help Re: Disclosure to Possibly Unsupportive People
Josette replied to jgandg's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I wouldn't tell him until much later because you don't want him saying things to you like "I would have thought you'd have lost more then you have by now!" next time you see him. If they think you're doing it on your own with no tool then they're less likely to make negative comments to you about things they don't understand. -
Where are all the Michigan people at??
Josette replied to Cinnaberry's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mary.. it depends on your pain tolerence and what kind of work you do. I had my surgery on a thursday morning at 8:30..went home Friday at 2pm....went back to work Monday morning at 8:45 and I did fine. I was a little tired that first week but had no problems. -
The ice cream truck in the neighborhood I grew up in is scary!!! hahaha. I remember back when I was a child we'd go to mcdonalds like once a month and it was a big deal! Me and my brother would walk around the block to the corner store and buy a case of pepsi that was 8 glass bottles and we'd take turns carrying it because the cardboard handle would cut into our hands and when we got home our mom would let us split a bottle during dinner and we'd take turns taking a swig out of the bottle till it was gone. Those were the days!!!

I'm down 25 pounds as of today and very happy with the band. I too am eating things I shouldn't be. Like a vanilla frosty from wendys! It was a SMALL! hahaha. I want a fill for sure though. My next appt is Oct 3rd so that'll be the 2 month anniversary of having the band. I can eat anything I want right now. Bread, pasta, rice. Anything! I do find it harder to eat anything but mushies in the morning. I still haven't PB'd but I have had the tight feeling in my throat and chest. Do NOT like that. You're all doing great!!!

Just wanted to honor the people that died 5 years ago today and the families that continue to struggle with living without them. May God continue to watch over each and every one of us.

You look great Molly. A few weeks ago I also colored my hair the same shade of blonde that yours is. I look so much happier. hahaha

I don't think you'll find many people here that a) enjoyed the liquid diets and loved it so much they canceled the surgery. There's some sites though with people doing optifast diets, etc. You might wanna check those out. I found it helpful when I tried the liquid diet alone for 2 months last year. Good luck and let us know how it's going!

When 9/11 happened I worked for an executive office of the Dept of State in the Michigan Historical Center. We had a radio on in our lobby area so as I was working I heard the DJ between songs say "there's a weird development coming out of New York. It appears one of the World Trade Center towers were struck by a plane. We'll keep you posted on this as news comes in" So we were talking about it and thinking it was like a small plane or traffic helicopter. A while later the DJ comes on sounding paniced and says the other tower was hit and it appears there's an attack on New York underway. We all got pretty upset and turned the radio up. Then a while later they said the pentagon was hit and at that time our building was put on shut down and we had to escort any visitors out of the building. We had no access to TV so all we could get was what the radio said plus the internet sites like CNN was sloooooow and we couldn't get them to update. Then the DJ came on saying that there were reports of 5 planes highjacked and heading to chicago and 3 planes down in Pennsylvania. We were all upset. My mom was having her last chemo treatment so I called and talked to her and she was worried about me because I was so close to the Capital building. We got several emails about buildings downtown being evacuwaited and there were military planes flying overhead. At lunchtime we went to the auditorium and they had live feed from a New York station playing on the HUGE movie theater screen and that was the first I got to see the planes hit and the towers fall and it was unbelievable. Dozens of us were just standing there in shock. No matter how many times they kept replaying it you just couldn't get it to sink in. They had a guy walk in to the studio that had escaped the towers and was covered in the white dust and it was crying saying that there were so many people still in there that have to be dead now. After work all the gas stations had atleast an 8 block long line for Gas and the American Red Cross was jam packed with cars all over the lawns in the area parking to go donate. That night I laid in bed with the TV on. I usually can't sleep with any light or sound on but I was terrified to go to sleep without the TV on. I woke up several times in the night to make sure nothing else had happened.

Skribby..that was mine too. I bought cheese sauce and had a teaspoon of cheese sauce, refried beans, sour cream and guacamole with a splash of taco sauce. I also loved cottage cheese with spaghetti sauce and parmasain cheese. Another good one is tomato soup with basil and roicatta cheese I'm making myself hungry!!!

I haven't had loratab or tylenol since 3 days post op. I haven't really eaten to the point of major pain though either. Just uncomfortable. I can hardly wait to get a fill.

Ok... doctor called with lab results and said the spot wasn't cancer as he had suspected before "YIPPIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" So that makes me happy. Hubby is still without job and we're fighting because he thinks he's going to take a 3 month unemployment vacation before he starts looking again. AHHHHH!!!!! *GROUP HUG*
