My path to surgery: Referral by GP Summer 2018; orientation class December 2018; nutrition class, first pre-op appointment and bloodwork January 2019; ECG, abdominal u/s, gastroscopy and stomach biopsy, and internist appointment February 2019; psychologist and dietician April 2019; surgeon consult and consent forms, surgery pre-op class May 2019. Cleared for surgery. Pre-op optifast diet June 5-18, 2019. Pre-op appointment with anesthesiologist June 14.
Surgery: Gastric bypass RNY June 21, 2019
My recovery: 2 nights in hospital. Full fluids for two weeks (protein shakes, milk, yogurt, sf pudding, sf jello, cream soups, broth soups, and runny oatmeal). Soft foods started with fish, poultry, and soft cheeses.
