  1. I see a lot of people eating scrambled eggs in the purée phase. For me they felt too heavy in my new stomach, so I have started eating them like this instead. I make this in my pressure cooker, and it's ready in 7 minutes.

    Slider foods

From reading your posts I can see that you're well versed in nutrition and CICO, surely you know for every one gram of carbohydrate stored in the body (as glycogen) there is approximately 2-3 grams of water retained. I didn't say I gained a kilo of FAT. It likely was water weight from the 7 day carb fest, and my return to eating a low carb diet would have flushed out that water weight. Regardless, it was the scare that I needed to get myself back on track, and show me I'll always need to be vigilant with my food choices.

I see that you are going to give the snacks away, but here is my experience anyway 🙂 After a mere 13 weeks postop my cheat day turned into a cheat week, just like it used to in the old days. Or to put it another way, I ate around my sleeve for a week.... and got the expected results, I gained 1kg. For some reason I have no ill effects from eating chocolate or chips, the only difference is it takes me a day to eat a pkt of lollies instead of 1 sitting. So after a good cry, I quickly got back to measuring food and tracking nutritional info, and dropped that regain in 2 days. Plus I joined the gym that same day for the first time in 3 years. I think it is irresponsible of your nutritionist to advise you that it's OK for a cheat day. We only have the 'sleeve magic' for a limited time, why encourage people to cheat in the peak efficacy time, it just seems counterproductive.
  4. Wow! I just tried on my skinniest jeans (AU 18, but they run small) and I actually did up the button and zip! I thought that was still a few weeks away from happening. My regular size 18s are getting loose too, I've owned them for 3 years and only fit them for the last 3 weeks.

And the pants I wore yesterday used to feel like a tourniquet on my calves, now they're loose and also about 2 inches longer, lol. 😁

  5. And I bet you won't do it again! My first and only time I did was so bad, the memory keeps me from doing it again. It took me about 3 hours to get over it. Now I eat my food and leave 2-3 minutes between bites, so I can check if I'm full and need another bite.
  6. Had a great weigh in today, but hubby is learning that he can't eat his food and then finish my plate, and not expect to see it turn up on the scales!

In other news, we're going to be joining the gym ASAP.

    July 2020 Surgery anyone?

It has been 3 months since VSG and things have been going very well. The highlights: I've over eaten and drank too fast one time, and learned quickly to not do that again. I've lost 19kg since preop and have dropped two pant sizes, and wearing cute clothes I actually like. I don't mind having my photo taken now, but my saggy neck is still preventing me from taking a good selfie, lol. My sister didn't recognise me and has been full of compliments. I'm so looking forward to seeing how things are going to be at the 6 month mark. I hope all the other July surgeries are going great too. Thanks Carlye

I’ve always wanted??!! What are yours?

I've always wanted: To wear knee high boots and skinny jeans. One chin. A waist.
  9. I won't miss: Judging myself by my appearance. Assuming others are doing the same. Avoiding the mirror and eye contact with people. Wearing leggings and track pants cos wearing plus size jeans made me feel even fatter. I used to wear clothes that made me stand out, and have kept some that I can't wait to wear again. Then I'll get to post them on the OOTD thread 😊 Feeling physically exhausted from my job and needing a 2hr+ nap between shifts. I have a physical job as a dairy hand, but it shouldn't be that tiring. 🐮
  10. Turns out that I'm normal....how disappointing 😔

Today is 3 weeks since my VSG and my scales showed a loss of 100g for last week.

So I thanked my body for doing a great job of losing 10kg in the past 34 days and I understand it needs to make some internal adjustments to my physiology.

However, I can now fit my first goal pants comfortably, so no real complaints from me.

  11. I'm 2 weeks postop VSG and my first taste change was increased sensitivity to salty foods. Then yesterday my beef bone broth that I liked 2 days ago tasted like boiled star anise. No change to my sweet taste buds so far.

    Sent home after 7 hours!

Good to hear a review of the Renpho scales @Puffy-no-more. I ordered them last week cos my old scales tried to tell me I'd gained 2.5kg while doing my preop diet 😜 I had surgery a week ago and won't weigh myself until the new scales have arrived.

    July 2020 Surgery anyone?

Today is the big day, I'll be having surgery in 6 hours! This is probably going to be the longest wait of the past year. Good luck to everyone else who is having surgery today. I know our surgeons will do an excellent job and pray that we will all recover quickly. 💜

    July 2020 Surgery anyone?

I live and work on a dairy farm and my boss moved our season end date up ten days. Which gave me the chance to get by surgery moved up a week! So my date is now 13th July. Yay! 🐮 💜
