Thank you-you too! Being new to the area I don’t really know people in healthcare outside of Unity. It is a crazy time to work in the medical field for sure!

Right now at the Unity Center but looking to make a change :)On 06/09/2022 at 15:09, Tink22-sleeve said:

I had my VSG surgery and lived in the Seattle area my whole life until moving down to Portland at the end of last year.

I might steal your idea though and try the cherries and sesame brittle on my cottage cheese! On 06/08/2022 at 11:37, GreenTealael said:
Sopa de Frijoles Negros (minimalist version ) this is 1 cup and I ate less than half because I added the amount of salt that the recipe called for but it was too salty for me.
Greek yogurt parfait (1 cup of yogurt) with local honey (fighting allergies) crumbled sesame seed brittle and 7 cherries on the bottom.

I can still tolerate yogurt stomach wise, but it has started to smell weirdly metallic to me. Any flavor, any brand. I quit eating it and now have cottage cheese instead. 🤷♀️On 06/08/2022 at 20:06, Kris77 said:
They both look really good!!
I miss yogurt!! One of those since my sleeve that make my stomach hurt.
That looks so good!
And I love black beans!! So I know I’d love that soup!GreenTealael reacted to this -
It’s not uncommon to have heat or cold intolerances post op. Some can only tolerate ice cold things, others only warm. It’s ok to have everything warm! Warm water/tea counts as Fluid intake. Can you tolerate broth? Bone Broth is nutritious with a good amount of Protein. Some of the unflavored protein powders will mix in to a hot beverage. sugar free hot chocolate might be a good option for you. As long as you are staying hydrated at this point you’ll be ok. Just keep trying new things in TINY amounts, your tolerances should increase as time goes on. If day after day you can’t meet your hydration goals reach out to your team again. I went many weeks in the beginning only getting in about 300 calories/day. I’m now 3 years out, have met goal, and can tolerate most anything. It gets better!

Just know that it gets better! It helped me to be really organized tracking my Water and Protein Shake intake, and having a little project to keep my mind off things in those first few days (I had a big kind of goofy paint by numbers poster I worked on). The first three days were the worst and then each day after that I felt a little better and a little better. Hang in there, you’ll get there.

I usually order 2 street tacos (which are pretty small). They always come with 2 corn tortillas each, I guess to hold in the juices. I always eat one full taco but take off the 2nd tortilla, then just eat the insides of the second taco.

Just don’t take Calcium supplements within 2 hours of your Iron supplement. Calcium inhibits the absorption of iron.

@Arabesque I love that skirt! The colorful sweater is gorgeous with it and makes your waist look tiny.

Not so much an OOTD as a reflection. I flew in to Dublin yesterday to attend The Frames concert this evening. Not only was I (relatively) comfortable in my coach seat for 9 hours, I was able to buy a size small sweatshirt at the show and had no worries about whether they would have one that fits me or not.

WTAF? @Arabesque just shared some interesting research and also congratulated you. Any offense taken was entirely of your own invention. I’d encourage you to spend more time here and see how truly supportive the regulars, such as @Arabesque are. Great information and encouragement is provided on a regular basis, should you be receptive to it.On 05/27/2022 at 13:59, Sunshine Princess said:

You look amazing, that color is gorgeous and you’ve got the hot mama bikini bod!
I’m currently on vacay in Dublin. No need for bikinis here! -
Plastic surgery was the best thing I did for myself post VSG. Head over to the PS forum, lots of folks have shared their stories and before/after pics.

Look in to BioTe pellets. They are amazing, I have zero symptoms after getting mine.

This was my favorite arm compression garment. So comfy! I started with a medium, but as swelling went down ended up ordering a small.

Happy hour instead of dinner dates work well for a first date. Sharing a appetizer is an easy way to limit the appearance of left behind food. Even dinner dates I often just order an appetizer,
