100 is not normal for the PNW. Used to be once every few years we’d hit that high maybe one day out of a summer. We’ve had 3 100+ days this year, and more predicted this week. Climate change 😡 The date was great, he’s very much Mr. Romantic :)

Oh wow, I LOVE these colors! And it looks amazing on you :)
-
Another date night, another summer dress. It’s 100° in Portland today, glad I now feel comfortable wearing summer clothing!

Yes! Between the weight loss and getting started on HRT (I’m 52 and menopausal) my libido is as high as it’s ever been. One of the many benefits of this surgery :)

Mahi Mahi is a pretty firm fish. You may be able to tolerate a small amount depending on how cooked. Poaching will keep it softer than grilling, and you could add a small amount of a sauce to help soften it up. Just go slow with very small bites to see if you tolerate it.

What area are you in? There are lots of custom faja shops in the Miami area. Your best bet might be having one made for your specifications. Google custom fajas, lots of options out there.

I was one of the unfortunate folks affected by divorce post WLS. I started dating about 6 months ago. I didn’t tell people about my WLS on first dates, but would often just suggest coffee or happy hour dates to avoid full meals. I went out on lots of first dates, a few second dates and never told anyone until I met my boyfriend. On our third date at dinner I told him why I eat smaller amounts. He’s been super supportive. I did have plastic surgery a little over a year ago so a bunch of loose skin isn’t an issue, but told him about that as well as I do have visible scars.

St Petersburg /Tampa and Area plastic surgeon
kristieshannon replied to susieq321's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had my PS done by Dr. Alex Earle in Miami. He does lots of surgeries on massive weight loss patients. I had an extended tummy tuck that included muscle repair and lipo to the flanks, a breast lift & augmentation and arm lifts. -
Iced Coffee
kristieshannon replied to Timberlynn Sleeved to DS's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I make my own cold brew coffee and mix it half and half with a premier protein shake. It’s my breakfast every day. -
Over 40 AND BMI over 50 - need inspo!
kristieshannon replied to MrsPinedo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was 49 when I had my VSG and had a BMI of 50.7. Three years later at 52 my BMI is now 24.6. Life could not be any better! I’m happy, healthy, and active. Shopping is delightful! I could not have made a better decision for myself, my only regret is not doing it sooner. -
Covid Positive
kristieshannon replied to Journeyoflove's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It isn’t just a personal opinion. I’m a nurse who has worked at a public health hospital through this pandemic. Irresponsibility and selfish behavior is what has led to it continuing. -
Covid Positive
kristieshannon replied to Journeyoflove's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is so incredibly selfish and irresponsible. And also can have potential health ramifications for the patient. You don’t want to undergo surgery which includes intubation when your lung function is compromised. -
Can obesity be a culprit of depression?
kristieshannon replied to Erin18's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It can be part of a whole negative feedback loop. You’re depressed, spend more time in bed or on the couch or self soothing with food, so gain weight, which makes you feel worse about yourself so you isolate more. There’s a big study out of the UK that says the initial prescription for depression should be physical activity rather than medication (although meds are often necessary). It doesn’t have to be rigorous exercise, just getting out for a daily walk is a great start, or even just gentle stretching. (I’m a psych nurse) -
Tonight’s date night dress with the guy who is now official boyfriend status ❤️ He planned a great night at a wonderful Italian restaurant in Portland. Good food, but even better company!
-
Holy wow, that is an amazing dress and you look great in it! Love you in bright colors @Arabesque!
-
You look fabulous @Arabeque! Absolutely love the whole outfit. How cold is it this time of year? We will hit 100°F here in Portland, OR today!

Have you tried unsweetened apple sauce? That should be ok pre-solids, and give you a taste of fruit.

Dealing with the Changes... Like Loose Skin
kristieshannon replied to SuziDavis's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Me too! Mine were awful. I had an arm lift and am so happy. I now feel comfortable in short sleeves, spaghetti straps, and even strapless dresses. -
Dealing with the Changes... Like Loose Skin
kristieshannon replied to SuziDavis's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Skin can be dealt with too. Check out the plastic/reconstructive surgery forum. Lots of us on here had a variety of skin removal surgeries (myself included). I agree with @Sleeve_Me_Alone though, even if I hadn’t had the extra skin removed I’d still trade be thrilled to be happy & healthy. -
Oh gosh, I have to wear all the stuff I bought during COVID and never got a chance to wear first!

Date night. It’s # 5 with this guy, I’m thinking he’s a keeper! With and without a denim jacket. Our PNW weather hasn’t caught on yet that it is supposed to be warm & sunny.

First post op date
kristieshannon replied to fourmonthspreop's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Happy hour instead of dinner dates work well for a first date. Sharing a appetizer is an easy way to limit the appearance of left behind food. Even dinner dates I often just order an appetizer, -
Washington State Friends

Thank you-you too! Being new to the area I don’t really know people in healthcare outside of Unity. It is a crazy time to work in the medical field for sure! -
