If you have a support system, about your spouse and children, have you ever tried or wanted to commit suicide. What are you expecting from surgery. Donyou understand the lifestyle changes no carbonation, limitations of diet. Emotional eater? Are you and have you ever been in an abusive relationship. Why you want surgery. Most were on a form and some he asked in questions in person. It did not take long at all and he let me know he was approving me for surgery before i left. Mostly to make sure you understand what you are doing. Good luck.

The paper you are talking about sounds similar to the form I filled out before going in Teheran appt. I didn’t do a personality test or anything with a bunch of questions. Although, the psychologist works with the surgeon and he was telling me with my health issues I should be really happy with results. He kept saying the dramatic positive changes this surgery he has seen make on patients lives. He did want to make sure I understood the changes I would need to make as far as food and carbonated beverages. I already gave up pop and beer. I just about always cook and don’t eat out. (Except for this last week and a half getting it all in lol) So he said that was half the battle. He told me he was approving me for surgery before I left the office. Do you have access to your appointments online where you can see your office visit info? If not I would just call either your primary, surgeon or psychologist to get an update. That’s ridiculous. It may be just standard in your area. You should be fine.

I am suppose to be July 8th. Have my 3rd and final weigh in Tuesday. Only my husband knows, I didn’t want anyone talking me out of it. I have too many health issues so I am more than ready to get started. I have been preparing people slowly, I quit drinking pop, beer etc. told everyone I bought a new total gym and asked if anyone wants to come work out. So not sure if/when and who I will tell. Still didn’t decide. Good luck everyone and keep us updated.

If you need more time you could always say there was a complication or infection. -

You have been preparing for this day for years. Don’t let someone’s actions make you question your decisions. I am scheduled for 7/8/19 and I only told my husband. I had an appt for a sleep apnea mouthpiece and when I told the dr. Why I was there she was very nice but an office worker who is larger than me had changed the way she talked to me and looked at me like in disgust. Then I went to my dermatologist and I went over my info with the nurse and did not tell her about planned surgery. When Dr. came in I didn’t realize nurse stayed in the room and I asked him questions about vitamins etc. for my upcoming surgery. (I have psoriatic arthritis and rosacea) when I said who my surgeon was she bursted out with groans etc. it was so uncomfortable. I asked if something was wrong with my surgeon or anything I should know about etc. I am still upset about it. The dr. Was not happy with her reaction. I don’t think I will be telling anyone at this point. This is my decision and my health. So I see exactly what you mean especially in a medical setting. You are ready. Best of luck to you and please update how you are doing. -

Not looking for advice! I just need to vent.

Just went to my stepsons graduation and it was outside. I wore jeans, Sandals and a nice top, my husband jeans and polo type shirt. His mother wasn’t dressed up but the stepfather had a suit. Their were people in shorts and t’s to suits and ties. They aren’t going to remember what you wear just if you are there. They only get so many tickets feel honored he considers you one of the most important people in his life to give you a ticket. Also think of it this way, you will only be wearing whatever you buy a few times before it is too big. You are a cute lady you can find something to wear! -
Sleeve scheduled for July 8, 2019. Last weigh in June 18th. Had to do 3 months for the surgeon. Bcbs said there wasn’t a timeframe anymore but moving along.

My surgery is scheduled for 7/8/19. My final weigh in is 6/18. I am in the 35 BMI so juggling to keep above 35 BMI and below what I was at last weigh in. We went to a nice homemade Italian restaurant and had manicotti, had a cupcake and a couple cookies yesterday. Told my husband if he wants to eat out this is the week. I just want a good piece of cake...the bakery I got the cupcake and cookies from were not that good. Lol. I will be getting me some spicy Asia food! As that is my favorite! Hoping I can still enjoy spicy when this is done.

I am suppose to have surgery 7/8/19 I only told my husband. Maybe after surgery I will let my sister and close friends know? Idk, but I made up my mind and don’t want anyone talking me out of it. Do what you feel is best for you. Not anyone’s business about your personal doctor appts.

CPAP Compliance- possibly switch Surgeons
Midnightsun posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I am set to have sleeve surgery 7/8/19. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea through the pre testing. It is moderate I believe. I am told the surgeon will not do surgery unless you comply with the cpap for a month prior to surgery. I have psoriatic arthritis and fibromyalgia so when I put the nose pillows on they irritate me as well as the face straps, I also move a lot with the arthritis pains and I am finding it near impossible to wear it. When I do manage to sleep with it on I wake up an hour later feeling like I am drowning or something. I don’t want to miss out on surgery but I cannot do this. I have a message for surgeon to call me but the assistant on the phone was pretty rude about compliance. Do you know of alternatives or if I can switch to a different surgeon and not lose my 2 months into this program? Feeling stuck. I am 5’3 and 201 at 53 years old. I need this for my autoimmune issues and hate to lose it. -
CPAP Compliance- possibly switch Surgeons
Midnightsun replied to Midnightsun's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you everyone! I had the most horrible day. I was able to get 1:45 on the cpap last night. Just horrible, fell asleep and ripped it off in my sleep thinking I was drowning. I called my surgeon office and was treated horribly. Tried to explain what was going on and how my skin burns from the mask because off my psoriasis. They would not let me schedule with surgeon or talk to him. Said to comply or cancel surgery. I asked what to do so I can comply. I scheduled with a pulmonologist and had settings changed. Called some other surgeons Incase I need to switch. I emailed the office how disappointed I was in how I was treated and the nurse assistant called back and apologized. So I guess I will find out what to do tomorrow. My husband offered to wear my cpap if I can’t. Lol that’s how upset I was/am. With my psoriasis I cannot stand even clothes touching me. I couldn’t even wear a bra for two years. All in my medical records. I wear a tank top and shorts at home and only get dressed when I go somewhere. It feels like fire on my face. Thanks again for helping and hopefully I can get thru till July. -
I am in the same boat. Put on a couple to be 203 so last appt showed a 2lb weight loss so now 201. My last appt is 6/18 so looking to be 1lb down. I am 5’3 so I cannot lose much.. I have Blue Cross insurance so I am concerned if they take in account the weight loss from liver shrink diet on the day of surgery or not. Last appt I had to have keys in pocket, shoes on etc because it was 2 days after colonoscopy and endoscopy. Anyone forced to use cpap or not surgeon won’t do surgery?

They also scheduled some of the upcoming appts for us.

Recently did mine. Got weighed, then was in a room with 2 others went over the program, insurance requirements, what to expect, dietary changes and requirements. Gave us a binder with a timeline of appointments etc. that need done, samples of vitamins and protein shake. Filled out some paperwork. Then met with the surgeon for about 5 minutes so he can say he will do the surgery.

I just had mine. It was pretty lame. Asked why I wanted surgery, I explained about my psoriatic arthritis, fibromyalgia and my autoimmune issues. He saw my list of meds... said you take a lot of medications. I said yes that’s why I need this surgery. Asked about family supporting me, asked about depression, if abused or was ever in an abusive relationship. Asked if financial hardships, ever think or attempt suicide. Done in 15 minutes.
