About Me
I just turned 50... I guess that means I am on the downhill slide. I have battled with my weight for three decades now. I have had a lot of successes but always failed at maintaining.... obviously, or I wouldn't be here. My biggest regret is not making this decision a long time ago, before all the health problems. I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea (Can't Wait to get rid of that mask!), pre-diabetic, fatty liver disease and auto-immune. I also have become allergic to the sun, if that is a thing. The issue that has really pushed me to this decision is Plantar Fasciitis which has been debilitating the past year. It started a few weeks before summer vacation last year. It is sad to look back on a family vacation and remember PAIN and what a struggle it was, instead of time enjoying my family. After many trips to a podiatrist, my feet are some better, definitely not healed. We are going on vacation soon, hoping to enjoy activities with my family. Praying that next year I will have a lot of this behind me and will not have to worry about pain holding me back. I have been to my psych, dietician, exercise, and first two pre-op appts. I have an appt. with heart doctor and 2nd pre-op appt tomorrow. I am hoping that he will schedule my surgery tomorrow for early July... and praying all gets approved. It is great to find a forum, for I do not know anyone that has been through this. I am very anxious to see how many of my ailments this will cure. I hope I can find people here to hold me accountable, help with the process, and encourage me when I am frustrated. Hoping I will be able to do the same for others down the road.
