Does lap band work for total Hysterectomy weight gain??
crazycatlady replied to wickedme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Jennifer, I was just wondering why you only have a 4cc band? I have a 10cc band, as I found out yesterday at my 1st fill. I only need to lose about 50 lbs. Are you sure yours is only 4cc? -
Eating too much after surgery
crazycatlady replied to luvnlyfe20's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm too new at this so I don't know where to find you to let you know. Sorry, I'm technically challenged. -
I had my surgery May 8th & I have been eating anything & everything I desire! I started mushies at 8 days out & have been eating normal for about 2 wks. I'm freaking out too since I can't seem to get a handle on my hunger. I go today for my 1st fill & I'm going to tell them to make sure they don't just give me a tiny fill. I cannot afford to wait 3 or more months to start losing weight.

I had a very difficult recovery. I was banded May 8 & still don't feel that great mainly due to severe gas issues. I get my 1st fill today & have been eating any & everything I want for the past 10 days or more with no negative results. I hope I haven't messed anything up & will be forced to be more selective after today I'm sure. Good luck on your recovery.

I also asked my pcp if he knew Dr. Collier & if so would he reccommend & he said yes. I really trust my pcp. -
Checking out centers

It was thru JourneyLite, Dr. Collier who's located in the Woodlands/Conroe area. You do not get a personal trainer but the nutritionist is a personal trainer. I guess you could pay her to train you if you wanted. -

I have my 1st fill tomorrow & so far I can eat & drink (at the same time) all I want. I hope this changes dramatically after tomorrow. -

I paid 13,500 for mine in Houston May 8, 2008. I have free fills for life, 1 yr. free nutritionist appts/doctor appts. That was a special. -
No more weight loss
crazycatlady replied to spoodles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Princess, I was just wondering...since I'm getting my 1st fill tomorrow(terrified) if I will be able to eat like I have been but less. Does this make sense? I can eat & drink now at the same time & find it will be so very hard not to drink with my meals. What will happen if I do? Thanks, any help would be great! -
Yes it is gas! I don't know why everyone else is saying it's something else. It is trapped gas & needs to be worked out somehow like by a massage to break it up. I had it after a c-section that lasted 4 mos until I went to a chiropractor who worked it out. I then passed gas for about 3 days & it was all gone!

Update on my May 12th Surgery....
crazycatlady replied to CaliGirl626's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded may 8 & it certainly wasn't that easy for me. I think it has to do with your age. It has been very had on me & I didn't think it would be this hard recovering. I had gas pretty bad & thought I'd take some milk of magnesia (5 days out) to help move my bowels & it was like I was preparing for a colonoscopy but it helped a great deal with the bloating & gas. Your body will tell you what to do in regards to how much you should drink at a time. I was told to take small sips at first to see how I could handle that. Just follow your doctor's advice & all should go well. Good Luck!
