So I had the gastric sleeve done in March 2015. I started at 309 and got to 154 but then had 2 pregnancies that brought me back to 300. Had the bypass March 2020 . Started from 300 and now I’m 271-270. I don’t like this surgery because I no longer get that full sensation and restrictions the sleeve provided. I’m doing as much exercise as quarantine can provide but it’s soooooo much harder this time around 😔😔😔. It’s like the restriction isn’t physical anymore so it has to be physiological which is 100000 times more difficult. I miss eating 2 bites and being full all day to be honest. Now the food literally feels like it goes straight through me 😔😒

No question is dumb. The restriction we feel with the sleeve is at the gate of the ending of our stomachs into our intestines. There’s a natural tightness there that allows for food to empty slowly. With the bypass it literally bypass all of that and empty into the intestines. The little gate or tightness is bypassed -

Nothing is a fact in weight loss surgery because there are too many variables. Literally everything down to genetics changes the outcome. But the sleeve is the most restrictive ( if don’t properly without complications) and safer surgery. The only thing is , is the stomach no matter how small can and will always stretch. -

It was awful because I kept pushing my boundaries. In the beginning it hurt to simply swallow water quickly. I was used to that full feeling satisfaction so I pushed and pushed until I understood that we should live to eat but eat to live! I made sure my 2-3 bites were protein and I did amazing. -

Yes I’m down 80 pounds since March. It’s just harder because the sleeve lets you know almost immediately that you’ve had enough or too much. The bypass doesn’t. Each individual is different. If I stayed on course I would’ve lost more but I’m trying my best and that’s all you can do -

Hi, with the sleeve before my 3 pregnancies I could only take 3-4 bites of food before feeling incredibly full even leading to vomiting. Within a year I had lost 150 pounds with the bypass it’s no longer a pouch fullness but an uncomfortable nausea feeling. I have an iron stomach so I’ve only had dumping once but I stick to what I know to be safe. Everyone is different. To me the sleeve was much bettter because I’m a good addict -

I had my revision in March and lost 40 pounds. I had my sleeve in March ( 5 years ago ) and on this date lost 55 pounds so it’s definitely slower and I’m actually exercising and counting calories etc this time around. I’m trying to restrict myself just like the sleeve so I’m only eating protein and a very small amount at each sitting and drinking a lot a lot of water. It’s hard because that never full feeling is depressing. It makes food and eating ALL I can think about. I’m trying to occupy my time with other things also -

When was your surgery date? I’m down from 300 to 261 and my surgery date was March 9. You’re right it’s been slower than the sleeve for sure. -

I think the bigger we are prior to surgery, the more we lost after. And I’m restricting myself as if I had the sleeve lol. -

Honestly it’s not about the actual number I’m just afraid to stop losing since it’s a slower process and I’m the one stopping myself after 2-3 bites. And I wish I could tell my family to leave me the hell alone but how can I when they are right? I did fail😔 I have 2 beautiful children from it but to ballon back after I’ve tasted the glory is so depressing. -

Yes I do. When I lost the weight the first time a lot of negative ppl in my life said I would fail and gain it all back which I did!😢😢😔😔😔 and evening though I cut most ppl out of my life the main ones are my family. I’ve literally been in hiding. I can’t believe they were right. -

What about fruits? I’m addicted to fruits but I think it’s because of its sugar content. Maybe I’ll go back to only shakes too! I was super motivated the first surgery but I’m just so stuck -

Don’t get me wrong you guys. My revision was done on March 9 and I’ve already lost 35 pounds so I’m happy, it’s just not what I was expecting . I had the perfect sleeve but the pregnancies forced my pouch to spread. The last pregnancy I was on complete bed rest for the entire thing. I guess I’m sad -

If you don’t mind me asking how much was your pre weight? And is the bypass your first surgery? -

EXACTLY! With the sleeve the weight literally falls off!! With the bypass it’s no physical stopping. I’m eating like I have the sleeve ( small bites) but the fact that I don’t get the full sensation temps me to snack😢😢 message you all the new sleeve patients : EMBRACE THE RESTRICTION!!!! -

I haven’t pushed myself because I’m a food addict and the feeling of being full/satisfied is like chasing a high at this point but with the sleeve in the beginning I couldn’t eat more than 2-3 small bites. That’s what I need.to tame the beast -

No I don’t know, sweetie but I fought against the restriction with the sleeve in the beginning but I started to understand the signs of being full. With this second surgery I’m literally having to stop myself after a couple bites and my weight loss is much more decreased. -
You guys! It’s been a month and I’m not losing any weight! I’m sooo frustrated I could cry!!!!! I started at 298 went to my 2 week appointment and weighed 283. From then I’ve love 2 pounds!!! I’m so heartbroken! I’m getting exercise but this time around it harder😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
