Yummmmmmm...... I'm slacking in this area, I thought I'd have a freezer full of meals by now. This weekend coming up, I'll whip up a few things and label them. You are knocking it out of the ball park, great job. Thank you for sharing. -

What kind of meals are you people preparing and freezing in advance? I need ideas. Not that it matters, I'm getting the sleeve. -
I'm also having surgery soon and this major. This entire site is mostly full of encouragement, Greenteal said, think positive about your future and you should. Generate positive energy and thoughts. Of course its not unusual to be nervous, consult with your medical team about what your fears are and talk to your support system and come back here. Pray & meditate.

This is what this journey is about, shedding the dead weight. Being accountable for self and finally working on self preservation. This journey to health is about so much more than weight, its the other things that are weighing us down and hindering our happiness. Unhappy relationships, be it professional, personal, with material, food, self, attachments, substances, health or mental issues, or whatever your varying factors are, check what applies...the weight provides shelter from reality. I have my fears, I have things to contend with that I will deal with when the time comes...but the most important person and thing that I've had to deal with is myself and it hasn't always been pretty on this journey, but so very worth it. I'm not backing down, changing my mind, giving in to anxiety, stressing out or mind tripping myself out of this. I don't know what is going to happen or what to expect or than happiness and blessings, because that is what I believe. I know this is going to be hard, being obese is hard. Cracking knees and all of these crazy health issues are hard, so I'm choosing a hard that leads to better health. I'm going to use BadWolfGirl's quote from her therapist because I'm a secret sleever. My people who know what this procedure is for are very few, the other's believe it is for pre-existing conditions. I know people are going to talk about us either way, so get your popcorn sit down and enjoy the show 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽!!!! Can we get a standing ovation for a job well done and a shot of Whiskey, for when I heal....lol -

The beauty in this is that you don't owe anyone an explanation. Therefore if you do or don't have any preexisting health conditions isn't dialogue that you should have to go into with anyone. This type of badgering will definitely get you thar middle finger BadWolfGirl mentioned. You should be free to take a sabbatical during your trip and go have your surgery in peace, the only person who needs to know are the ones who've been entrusted with your care. I'm very clear about my boundaries being respected and my energy not being violated with negativity or unsolicited advice. Rene50 stay your course and follow your heart...💜 -
Pre-op the chocolate sugar free pudding has been my friend. I don't particularly care for chocolate items, but I enjoy this. The vanilla is gross. I hope my new stomach continues to enjoy sugar free pudding.

I went to the long awaited pre-op appointment today at Kaiser. I was there for 3.5 hours and I will have to go back on Monday to complete the disability papers. Appointment recap: I was weighed , 251.4 , BP 118/78 pulse 77. I was given a folder with the documents detailing my pre and post op dietary guidelines. 1 day liquid diet prior to surgery ( I put myself on the liquid diet to get the excess weight off gained from meds and etc.,I did it!!!) , 3 days clear liquids immediately post op, 14 days full liquid diet and I have to get my folder to properly explain the rest. I just remembered that 2/15/20 is my last day of the full liquid diet. I will go into the food more on another post. We went into vitamins and pain management, hydration, walking, miralax and prilosec. My hospital is providing an abdominal binder, which I thought was nice and saved me a few $$$. Went to give the lab an offering of my blood per usual , swung by admissions, spoke with the dietitian, the surgeon, I was asked to wear a light nail polish color if were to keep my nails, I was advised to wear something loose to the hospital and most people wear the same outfit home and choose slippers. Ohhhh, a hard one for me no chapstick!!!! I check in at 8:15 AM & surgery is at 10:19 AM on 1/31/20, with checkout being the next day on 2/1/20. I will have a private room and someone can stay there with me if I would like. -

Great to hear that you all had moderate to mild success. I wanted to love it, unfortunately it made me very sick and I had to discontinue using it. -

I'm so upset, I'm a slow loser

Hang in there and trust the process, it gets better. A slow loser is better than not losing, right? -
I took a few pictures of some of my pre-op goodies. I went to the Obesity Help Conference and was given so many different kinds of free samples, especially when I shared that I'm pre-op. There's a variety of products ranging from protein shakes, vitamins, bariatric foods (vegetable pizza crust not pictured and purchased after tasting), post-op food from unjury and etc. I know our tastes may change, but I'm getting these protein drinks down. I have spices, extracts, decaf teas and I will add ice to make smoothies...lol !!! Long story short, a few more cases of water, gas-x , miralax , a good mouthwash for dry mouth and a neutral toothpaste... I'm ready. I didn't take pictures of everything, I didn't feel like pulling out all of the boxes of broth, Bariatric Advantage Vitamins full size, water bottles, Better than Bullion jars, other pill organizers and etc. Who else is ready or what does your maintenance look like?

Omg, I'm laughing at you because are we the same person split into 2 people. I'm going to my pre-op today and after my appointment today I'm going to get my pedicure and I get my hair braided tomorrow in preparation for surgery on the 31st. I like to look nice. I have my personal standards.
