March 2020 Surgery Folks Come On in!
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Mello1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How are you feeling? I'm devastated and trying to get through this process and honestly I don't know how I do this, but I do it. I believe in God and I have to believe in myself to be a good grandmother to my son's child. I have to be, I appreciate BP because of people like you Mello 1, GreenTeal, Fluffy chick, Catwoman and this March group is amazing. So was my old January group of people, I'm thankful for the opportunity to transform my lifestyle and better health. -

Trying new foods and getting sick sucks
Krimsonbutterflies replied to CammyC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had refried beans last night, it was delicious and Ariel (my stomach) loved it!!!! I bought the smooth style by Rosarita, which is totally pureed and no lumps of beans. I added a little cheese on top and a little ground Turkey and chewed it until it was no more to chew. I had a few bites too much, but it has been my best meal since Ariel was born. I even slept good, I will eat this for the next couple of days. -

I had to cross the finish line for my son, he was the person who believed in this procedure and for me getting back to healthy. In honor of our journey that we started together and to be here for my 2 year old grandson. I'm going through a lot, I mean more than I could ever imagine. I don't believe in giving up and quitting, I have to be the best version of myself as his mother and person who is going to be here to tell his son about his father's love for him. Perseverance is my super strength for the moment. The positivity of this site keeps me motivated and forward moving, especially as a secret sleever -

Sorry for the cancellations that keep coming up. Keeping my positive attitude because I know you all will get your surgeries in the proper time. It just wasn't in your plans to delay and I understand that. I was originally scheduled for my surgery on 1/31/20, my son was shot on 1/21/20 and died on 1/22/20. He was going to be with me during my surgery and be my support and care system. I don't want to get into that, I'm sharing to say that sometimes we have to go with the flow and things aren't always in our control. Stay the course and if you are dedicated to your wls, it is going to happen for you. We will be right here cheering you on. -

One thing that's true for me is the 2-3 week stall. I'm not going to get my nerves in a bundle, 15 days out and I'm 12 pounds down, I'll take it. I have my ideas for this wls journey, I'm going to release control and go with the flow. -

Welcome back / home Mello 1. You had a lot done in one procedure, time to recover. You can truly focus on self and finally reap the fruits of your labor. The first 2 nights home for me where the hardest in terms of comfort, gas pains and the meds used during surgery lingering in my system. Hydration is key and Popsicles are good when you can't consume water ot you need help hydrating. Get some rest and put your feet up when you aren't walking. -
What is the deal with toilet paper?!?
Krimsonbutterflies replied to JRT Mom's topic in Rants & Raves
I normally shop in bulk for the essentials, be it household and food items. I shop quarterly and I don't like to not have my needs or for my grandson and his mom. It's not affordable for me to shop monthly, I save money when I shop quarterly and my only weekly or biweekly expenses are for perishable items. I need to quarterly shop for paper goods next month and this a disaster. -

Corona delaying weight loss surgery dates? Anyone?
Krimsonbutterflies replied to MaybeMeow's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just spoke with a friend who has a friend going through the Kaiser Options classes (Pre-op requirement in So. Cal). All classes have been postponed and her friend was informed that her surgeries (elective) have been postponed until further notice. I'm praying for those of you who are on the journey and awaiting your surgery. Don't forget the reason why you are on this journey and remember why you are doing this. When you finally cross the finish line, you are going to appreciate your journey even more. We are going to stay united on our journeys rather it be pre or post-op, this is a real test for each of us. Even those of us who are recently post-op, we have to assure that we stay healthy and keep our immune systems healthy. I had a post-op appt via telephone today, I have to hope that I'm doing the right thing because without direct contact with your medical team it's not clear. Hopefully we all stay complication free, hydrated and mentally healthy. There are also those who need a revision due to complications from their first procedure, the list can keep growing. This is a domino effect that we are in together. Sending positive vibes, prayers and blessings to each of you. Practice patience and keep your peace as your guides as we navigate through this. -
I'm sorry, ask your surgeon. My Bariatric team said this was common for some patients post-op. This was also discussed in our classes required before surgery. My friend is post-op 2 years and has been revised to rny for almost 1 year, her stomach is a talker. She named her stomach, Tiny Tummy aka TT.

Premier protein shakes. GOOD OR BAD?
Krimsonbutterflies replied to AuriAngel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Recommended by the Bariatric program and I love the following flavors: Bananas and Cream, vanilla, chocolate and strawberries and cream. I use the vanilla in my hot black tea. I love that a lot. -
Did anyone else name their new stomachs? Hey Gurgly Gail 😆😁

Feeling Full?
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Katheryn0303's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Absolutely, I have to adjust mentally and physically to how things feel now. I have not enjoyed anything, because the full feelings are truly special and happen quickly. I'm chewing and eating slowly. 2 bites and I'm done, 4 tiny bites chewed into nothing is blah right now. -
I've named my new stomach Ariel, as in the mermaid. She's a Pisces and was born on March 3rd 2020, 2 weeks old today. She talks and gurgles, noisy little girl. I'm singing Under the Sea in my head as I type this, lmaooooo.

Water texture issue after sleeve
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Starwarsandcupcakes's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I loved water prior to my sleeve. I still crave it, but I'm not consuming water like I need to be. It's not going down right, I'm using drink enhancers, broth, Popsicles and hot tea. I'm still falling short, now this is war!!! I need to hydrate better, because I loved water prior to surgery. I've got to make this work, no choice. -
March 2020 Surgery Folks Come On in!
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Mello1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mello 1, I'm praying for you to have a successful surgery and that everyone who comes in your path is in good health and touches you with blessed hands. That's my prayers for each of you having your surgery, no matter what the date may be. I will respond to the other comments directed to me later, I'm so fatigued and not focused right now. I also feel a little bit under the weather, going to practice a lot of self care and hydration (hopefully). -
Can I ask yall a question?
Krimsonbutterflies replied to TheAngryMeow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Go for it, many ppl with various health concerns and issues could benefit from meals marketed for smaller appetites and nutritional benefits. Bariatric, cancer, heart and other patients. Copyright your idea and the best of luck to you. I always talk about a restaurant for smaller appetites ( vsg /bariatric and preop) patients. During preop it was a task when I needed to be out and about. -
Day 12 feeling really crappy
Krimsonbutterflies replied to CammyC's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Cammy C, I just took a 2.5 hour nap. I've been lightheaded and weak. We are in the same boat, I'm on my cycle, already anemic. I only walked for my errands and was back in my car, I feel spent. I couldn't leave the house today and I have to pick you stuff for the house. Not to mention shopping is a real annoying task due to the panicky ppl. I don't want to whine, but really ppl get a grip!!! Yes, we need to be prepared, but I've seen hysteria! I have lost 10- 13 pounds because the scale is fluctuating. We will be fine, this takes time to get everything under control and for our bodies to be our friends again. Hydration is hard for me and I was a fish who drank plenty of water before surgery. Now it's a daunting task every single day, I never make my goal. I'm trying to increase my intake daily and learn my new stomach. I don't want to vomit or push my limits. All of you who have chimed in are great contributors to BP, experience is the best teacher. I'm going to get a little food in me and turn from the news. -
