I love straws! I keep them in my office, car, home, I'm always buying them. I don't like paper straws, tried it (weird dissolving mushy texture straw).

What the Gobble...(Food gatherings)
Krimsonbutterflies posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today I realized that the food festivities are in FULL EFFECT!!! From office luncheons and potlucks, Friendsgiving, Happy Hours...this is all just a warm-up to the Big Event of fine dining and grandiose entertainment and food comas....THANKSGIVING!!! Today, I chose smoked turkey from Honeybaked as my protein and very small servings of carbs at our luncheon. I drank water, I did have cake, I didn't finish it, I took the remainder of it to my dad's house for him to have. Now, instead of going in my kitchen eating that cake I'm going to drink a protein shake and go to bed. -

I'm cooking a full meal, but taking the desserts out as an offering when I visit others. No dessert left behind in my house, just a slice to taste. -
WLS YouTubers
Krimsonbutterflies replied to StrongButterfly's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Oh, great post!!!! I watch a few of these people. Clusie is my favorite and were both Virgos, lol. Dr. V is brutally honest and I operate in honesty. I just started watching a few of the others who are very informative and were consistent. I'm watching more as I get closer, I love research and it gives me an outlet to feel as if I'm talking about it and asking questions I wouldn't even know to ask. I feel fortunate between BP and YouTube WLS videos. -

I bought Sam's Club gravy and mashed potatoes. I also bought one of those cakes, but a few bites was better than a whole cake in my house. -
Happy birthday to you and the next 40 years to a healthy life. Tomorrow would've been my mom's 72nd birthday, she's in great company watching over you for us....I hope you relaxed today.

Congratulations on your surgery date and welcome. Due to my severe anemia, my surgeon is strongly against me getting the bypass. Vsg is the answer. -

I'm thankful that my spirit lead me to give you some words of encouragement. You do know that you've got this, if you don't know consider yourself informed. Your task now is to calm down because it's a hard task for the body to heal while under a lot of stress. We need you to heal for your son and husband, they need you around. Don't be mad at yourself or hard on yourself for making this decision to have wls. Cry, get it out and then breathe, repeat until it gets easier. My friend had revision surgery in July with complications that scared me from almost not having my surgery this upcoming January. She has recovered nicely, we've attended the Obesity Help Conference and I have met wonderful people like you. We deserve a second chance at an amazing healthy life. Bariatric Pal has been my mental and emotional support, because I'm private and less than a handful of ppl know I'm having this surgery. Emma, anything you want to talk about this is a great platform.

Please, teach me and others how to enjoy the excitement and once in a lifetime (for some) journey. I want to be present in each step and not caught up in my head with the future. I like your idea of enjoying the excitement, because my a** is scared, lol. -

Thank you both for all of the questions and for telling us to breathe. Save and invest in your Bose earbuds, rest, hydrate, walk and repeat. I have a 2 year old grandson so I did buy some toddler plates and utensils on clearance from the grocery store for .50 for a pack of 6 each, which he'll inherit the use of with me. I just bought a package of nice salad plates from Ross as my new dinner plates for 4.99. I have to curb my straw usage, thanks AJ for the intervention. Lol!!! -

Hi, I'm praying for you to have a great recovery. I'm a cup half full kind of person with how I think and the energy I manifest. You are going to be fine, I understand the being tired of poor health (trust me), but you had the sense to go to the ER to be treated timely and that's saying a lot about you. Try not to have regrets about anything that you do for you in life, that is wasted time & energy. You made an informed decision to take your life back from obesity and all of the other health issues that accompany being obese-- so try not to regret getting healthy. There are going to be a few hiccups and bumps in our roads that will be unique to our journeys and this is what makes the victory so great for each of us. Your son and husband are all in for you and will be strong when you are weak, scared, tired or uncertain. You can't reverse this, so try to make peace with your new tool and come to an agreement that you'll both work together and learn to support one another and compromise....Feel better and let us know.

Welcome to BP. Which procedure are you getting the sleeve or the gastric bypass? What's your surgery date? Do you have a support system? Are you excited, nervous or etc.? -
Sleeve or bypass? help or hurt GERD
Krimsonbutterflies replied to boymom860's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm trying to determine what procedure is best for me. I'm having my surgery on 1/31/20, I only want to do this once. I have dealt with heartburn issues here and there, but not frequently or long term. I'm praying for guidance and clarity to make the proper decision. -

"herbal" therapy
Krimsonbutterflies replied to JRT Mom's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm curious about how this affects the system, since alcohol gets you intoxicated quicker after the procedure. I'd like to be able to continue partaking, in lieu of empty calories...but if my desire for it is gone I will accept it. -
First Post! Hoping for January surgery!
Krimsonbutterflies replied to ChubRub's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I finally got my date today, I selected January 31st. I have a range of emotions that I'm certain will surface as I get closer, right now I'm just in shock, scared, excited, nervous and ready, educating further and processing mentally. I shed a few tears of accomplishment for making it to this phase, but this is only the very beginning of a new lifestyle and mindset. I started seeing my therapist again this week to have a foundation of support as I embark upon a new journey.
