How are your nerves, I see you aren't sleeping with the beauty. -
NYE 2019 surgery date twin?
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Bamachicvsg's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeping beauty, lol. Sliced and diced, lmaooooo. I'm exactly a month away, but my nerves are crazy, because 4 weeks goes by quickly. I'm very encouraging to others, internally I'm a little afraid of the unknown and not being properly prepared. Which is why I'm distracting myself with checking on all of you every 5 seconds like a nervous hen, lol. -

Prayers, hugs, well wishes and I'm putting success in the universe that you are all going to do amazing tomorrow. Don't be anxious, they will give you meds to quell your nerves and take your anxiety away. Think of it as a nice little nap 😴😴😴, lol. I'm trying to make you all laugh. I don't know if it's working or not. -
January 2020 Surgery Date
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Krimsonbutterflies's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I shared that I've been gaining weight and I don't know why, well I'm down 6 pounds and I have 10 more to go before my pre-op appt on the 17th. I have been in a soft liquid diet phase, lots of protein. Going full throttle by the end of the week, into liquid mode. Going to pick up some more sugar free Popsicles and jello tomorrow. All I'm thinking about are pancakes and waffles, smdh. -
January 2020 Surgery Date
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Krimsonbutterflies's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What are you going to eat and what test did you take? When's your surgery? Sorry for asking, especially if you have already provided your date. -
You should have an IV for pain meds from what I've experienced with other surgeries and from what I've seen. I know we all have very differing pain thresholds. Also, as painful as it may be walking does move the gas around and gets things moving. Even a few baby steps back and forth should be beneficial. I'm proud of you and congratulations.

Has anyone kept their surgery a secret?
Krimsonbutterflies replied to J Johnston's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't know what people are thinking about when they want to publicize your business for their party topics. They just confirmed that I've been discussed when I wasn't around, now I'm around so ppl can see who you were talking about. -
Has anyone kept their surgery a secret?
Krimsonbutterflies replied to J Johnston's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
People no longer value confidentiality and respect other's decisions to remain private with their choices. Thank you for the hug Fluffy Chick, I just put my poker face on and went through the motions. My bestfriend knew that didn't go over well and tried to reign her family in... -
Has anyone kept their surgery a secret?
Krimsonbutterflies replied to J Johnston's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is exactly why I'm not going to tell my bestfriend either, people tell two other people and so on and such. I had a procedure in August and she told her mom and cousin, the cousin told her mom and who asked me at Thanksgiving in front of everyone if I'm doing better because they were praying for me and were going to mobilize the team together to help me out... I appreciate the support, but I'm very private and that's very overwhelming for me. I'd be livid if my wls information was handled so freely and without concern about my feelings. -

Preparation for After Surgery
Krimsonbutterflies replied to adkmalik's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You don't have to spend a lot of money to get post OP ready. Everyone's going to prepare for surgery differently than others, match your budget and buy those big ticket items later if you want. Focus on buying protein, water, sugar free jello, sugar free popsicles, broths, clear liquids and foods to puree. Miralax for going to the bathroom if you need assistance. Vitamins are the big ticket items...all of our post op plans won't look the same, but we will need those essential items in our tool boxes more than gadgets. -
Congratulations to everyone checking in or who has checked in already. Take a few slow deep cleansing breaths and repeat, relax and remember you aren't alone. We are thinking about you today and will be checking for your post whenever you feel ready to post after your graduation ceremony/surgery. We are all super supportive and proud of you, its okay to be nervous. This is your experience, we will be on the other side of the stage waiting for you. Congratulations Class of 2019!!!!

Has anyone kept their surgery a secret?
Krimsonbutterflies replied to J Johnston's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Whew!!!! This is a task preparing for surgery at the end of January and modifying my behaviors, while everyone else is uncomfortable with one person marching to the beat of their own drum. In other words I'm not partaking in libations or unhealthy foods. I'm drinking water, carrying my own snacks, protein drinks and politely declining what's being offered to me. I'm going to decline any further social engagements and just spend that time working out and preparing for my new life. I'm exhausted from other's expectations that I never conformed to, my wls isn't a topic for discussion. I just see from this past month and especially this weekend, that I'm going to have to change my surroundings. The jokes about me being a cheap date because I don't eat much of anything or drink anything but water. The way my friend is carefully watching my items that I selected at the market, continued to offer me bread after I said that I'm not having bread at this time, just small sabotaging comments and behaviors. This friend also believes that wls is for lazy people and doesn't understand how much work truly goes into the success of each person who really wants to beat obesity. I have just decided to keep my goals to a very tiny support group and not invite anyone in who is already against the procedure no matter who you are. I don't and won't be micromanaged by naysayers waiting for failure when success doesn't look like their dark imagination. I'll just be the light and know that this wasn't given to me, but deserved and earned. -

January 2020 Surgery Date
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Krimsonbutterflies's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Time is going to fly by very quickly. I like to be prepared and then some, its also a good distraction for my nerves. I think I'm going to purchase a good pillow as well. I drink plenty of water and I hope my love of water doesn't go away. I plan on being a good patient and resting. I like lounging around, this is my opportunity to get my rest as I heal. -
