Has anyone else named their stomachs pre or post-op? My stomach talks, gurgles and is just noisy. I'm not mad, but she obviously has a voice now.. So here I go, may as well have fun with it. DOB - 3/3/2020 SIGN - PISCES NAME - ARIEL (LITTLE MERMAID) May as well embrace it and have fun with it, lol!!!

Name Game...
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Krimsonbutterflies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Moaning Myrtle is hilarious. I love them all.... Ariel the Pisces is still over talking me and doing what she wants, which annoys the Virgo in me. My grandson always looks at me crazy and says, "your stomach Nana!" Best wishes on your journey. -
Do you see yourself as thin yet?
Krimsonbutterflies replied to JRT Mom's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Truth, I'm feeling the same way. I never thought I would experience, Body Dysmorphia. -
costco favorite foods ..not protien shakes.
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Paul Hufnagl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The chicken patties, I miss salads, soups, dinners packaged by Costco to go. -
I was asked by a male friend when can he come and see me, my sarcastic response was: I'm social distancing per the order of the Governor. In other updates, I want to go walking in my neighborhood and get some fresh air, but I have pre-existing respiratory conditions and I don't want to chance it. I was really sick towards the end of last year and was off of work for 2 months due to respiratory problems. My stress levels are up and down, which I know compromises my health at times as well. Insomnia is real!!! I still have to be optimistic about everything and pray for the best, while socially distancing myself from the world.

I know that I need to chew even slower. Thank you.

Very informative and helpful options for us to try. I don't believe all hunger is in your head either. In the beginning of your individual journeys, I think its important to decipher what is going on with you. Also, eating less more frequently may help me for sure. I'm trying that theory for the next 2 days and increasing my protein intake.

I never liked edibles, I preferred to inhale and exhale. I also liked the sensation of smoking, oral fixation and etc., it comes down to preference. Edibles didn't allow me enough control of my high and it also felt different from the high I obtained from smoking. I have edibles that someone bought me for my birthday last year, I've been giving them away to my friends who do partake in edibles. If it takes 4 hours for you to experience the high from edibles, indulge before you are actually ready to feel the effects. It may take some planning, but you can make it work for you.

Gas, Gas and More Gas
Krimsonbutterflies replied to SlimChickadee's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm extremely gassy and I'm not consuming vegetables until this upcoming week. My issue will be that cruciferous vegetables are my favorite, especially broccoli. I will have to find other vegetables to eat for awhile, until I'm further along the journey. Today makes 1 month post op for me, let's see how it goes. -
When does energy return?
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Lily66's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was just whining about my lack of energy today, I'm looking forward to this emergence of energy I've heard about post wls. I'm cleaning my room and working on a closet, it will probably take me until Tuesday to finish. Geesh, I haven't statred exercising yet and today is my one month surgiversary. Going to start the resistance bands and walking my neighborhood. -
Ever forget you had surgery?
Krimsonbutterflies replied to JessLess's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yep, that one last bite isn't the same as before surgery. My mind was thinking, you are eating such a small amount of food, the one more bite isn't going to hurt. Oh does it hurt and terribly bad. My goal is to monitor what my full is, before I physically feel full. This is my immediate goal during April, learning "Ariel's " likes, dislikes, when she's had enough without hurting both of us, lol. -
How slowly do I you eat??
Krimsonbutterflies replied to JSSteinman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ditto this comment. I don't want to eat a cold meal that was intended to be hot. 5 minutes between bites is a tad excessive and obvious as a secret sleever, in addition to my drastically reduced portions. -
Going back to work tomorrow and I’m scared

I know you look amazing with your weight loss already, any compliments or stares? Congratulations on your new routine, I'm going back to work around the 16th. -

I'm drinking water and ignoring this loud growling that "Ariel " is doing at 3:30 in the darn morning. Insomnia is real and on my nerves. I almost went to get some cheese, another Jello or something. I opted for Some water. I hope to be sleep soon.

What do you eat after 6 weeks post op!
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Mortiz8892's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Per my plan, I'm allowed cooked vegetables (not cruciferous vegetables) at week 5-6 (next Tuesday). Talk about excited and happy to have fresh foods again, even if I have to cook the vegetables softer than I prefer. I like a nice steamed vegetable, not boiled or mushy. My Bariatric Nutritionist recommended mushy / soft vegetables to start. I can also incorporate canned peaches in water next week as well, I'm dancing in my head. Oatmeal is also making s comeback, yes!!! Soups haven't been in rotation, but I'm going to add it back...Ground Turkey is on the list and I want it with the smooth refried beans and a little guacamole. I have menu ideas, but I don't know how to navigate this new stomach yet. -
Going back to work tomorrow and I’m scared
Krimsonbutterflies replied to CammyC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Prayers of protection and safety as you return to work. Your mother is going to be safe, that's our prayer for all of you. -
I will be 4 weeks postop tomorrow, I'm hungry too! I went to Walmart Grocery store today and finding protein rich foods without it becoming monotonous is a real task. I found some egg bites premade with cheese and Turkey sausage, I don't eat pork, but they had bacon as well. I found a large container of Oikos Yogurt which is 12 grams of protein per serving, egg whites, cream of wheat, oatmeal, Sargento cheese snacks, milk for protein drink mixes and few other items for my family. I miss having ftuit, vegetables, salads, fish because my body is rejecting my favorite protein. I'm also feeling tired of sweet liquids, not being able to drink plain old fashioned water without an enhancement to tolerate it, I want cold cereal, I want cashews and pistachios for a healthy protein boost. I miss some of my favorite healthy staples that would satiate my hunger, but Ariel aka my stomach is still healing and I have to respect it. I'm hungry too.

@BayougirlMrsS thank you for the compliment and for sharing your story. I read about it on another thread, hopefully your story will help anyone who reads this and needs it. @AJ Tylo you generally crack me up, because you are unapologetic about who you are. We can take it or leave it, I may not agree with you on various topics, but I appreciate your honesty about you being you. Can't say that you didn't warn us, lol.

RE Trapped Gas - Just FYI
Krimsonbutterflies replied to IAmGrace's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I experienced trapped gas Saturday night and most of yesterday, WTF is all I've got to say. Feeling better now, happy I'm sleeping alone because I passed gas during the entire time everytime I could, lmaooooo. -
I have a few questions for you to pose to yourself, from a viewpoint of support for you as a fellow member of this community that you are lovingly accepted into. Do you think his behavior is respectful, loving, uplifting towards you? You do know that you aren't his property and don't need his "consent" to prioritize yourself or your health? Does he have a fetish for bigger women and is your losing weight a turnoff for him (physically and mentally)? Is he genuinely a friend who sincerely supports you with other endeavors in your life, without needing to personally gain/benefit from you/it? Does he encourage you to build your confidence and self esteem daily? Does he encourage your individuality? Does he support you having healthy outside relationships with your family, colleagues and etc.? Do you feel comfortable discussing your individual dreams, goals, achievements and vision for your life/future independent of his benefit? Do you feel uplifted after talking to him and like he's a positive light in your life? These are a few things to ask yourself and be honest with yourself about how you are truly feeling. 5 years in a relationship doesn't mean that you are being loved, supported and respected by your mate. I know that we don't know the entire history of your relationship, but he sounds cruel and controlling. His punishment that he's imposing upon you and his request to not be contacted until you can explain yourself to him what he will benefit from you is not the behavior exhibited by a person who cares for someone. He sounds insecure, manipulative and insensitive to your need to get your health on track. He's right there in the dictionary under narcissist!!! His attitude towards you and yes your mother too is disrespectful and you are worthy of being respected, loved and supported. You should be celebrated by your partner for your accomplished weight loss thus far and please don't dream of sabotaging your success and trying to stop your journey. We will cheerlead, shout to the mountain tops and yell praises for you to win!! You are worthy, beautiful and deserving of whatever your heart desires. I wrote this with the intention of being a supporter of your journey and not to preach or judge. This is the judgment free zone, I just don't like bullies who rain on other people's happiness and blessings.

Anxiety with the scale
Krimsonbutterflies replied to loridee11's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I wonder if I will be able to fit my work pants by the time I return to work as well. I have dresses that I'll certainly be able to wear, but the pants and blazers concern me. I will donate those when business resumes for women returning to the workforce in need. Looking forward to seeing the next size down and a size medium is my goal. -
Oh, I forgot to mention that you should reward yourself for your accomplishments thus far. Something to help build your confidence like a nice facial at home, new tennis shoes or workout outfit or etc. Then create a new non scale goal and work towards it. For example I'm looking forward to seeing my collarbones this year. My reward is to wear one of my summer dresses and to feel good with sun kissing my collarbones and being thankful.

My advice is to take the comparison pictures only for yourself. I take one each week, but they are strictly for me. We are visual creatures and you'll encourage yourself, my neck is back and my face is slimmer, my midsection is shapely and no longer muffin top overflowing my pants. I've been stalled for a week or two, but I can see and feel the physical changes. Are you physically active, toning your body and etc. For example 175 looks different on a toned body as opposed to 175 on non-exercising and not physically toned body. I hope that makes sense to you.

Craving A Big Salad! When? How much?
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Lily66's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I think we all know/knew good food too well, lol 🤣🤣🤣!!!! Your salad dressing is worth a try, definitely as a marinade for chicken or shrimp, as well as a salad dressing. Thank you
