I was just in the ER yesterday for this pain. CT scan showed I have a large hematoma that's causing me a great deal of pain. Thankfully there are not any leaks or infections. They prescribed me Percocet for the pain and said it'll surpass.

Hello, My youngest daughter is 11 and my son's 10. I'm a mom of 6 and my kids have an seen me struggle with my weight. I started trying to eat healthier and get more active this past year and a half and was transparent with my kids. I wanted to try to be an encourager to them to do better and choose better for themselves. They asked questions, I answered them to the best of my knowledge. I showed them the charts the doctor and dieticians gave me. Explained to them my surgical choice and why I chose it. Kids are so strong and it's great to hear their side of different scenarios as well. My son told his teacher that I was having surgery and she if course asked what and why and bless his heart, he couldn't remember gastric bypass and who would at his age but what he did remember was that his mommy's new stomach was going to be in the shape of an egg.[emoji173]️ My greatest cheerleaders are my husband and children. That makes me run the extra mile to keep going! I'm 2 weeks post op, currently. Best of luck to you! [emoji119] Sent from my PH-1 using BariatricPal mobile app

I completely understand, because I take other meds for other reasons and it's next to impossible to get all these pills down in a day! Since I can't have extended release after the bypass, that's nearly doubled my daily pill intake. 😞🤢

Anyone else use flinstones vitamins?

I was advised by my Bariatric team to take 2 Flintstone's Complete everyday along with my b12, Vitamin D3 and Tums. Sent from my PH-1 using BariatricPal mobile app -
I'm 12 days post op. My left side has been killing me since day 1. I've asked about it even after my drain was removed but they said it's normal and just take Tylenol. That's not helping, lol. I feel like a little old lady, hunched over when I walk because standing straight is a no bueno for me, lol. Sent from my PH-1 using BariatricPal mobile app

It is frustrating and it feels like it's such a stretch to drink! I'm 12 days out! I'm still sore on my left side but it's getting easier. I'm in the pureed stage and some soft foods. I'm just working it and looking towards the light and the goal. I also wanna share that I detest my Flintstone's vitamins! [emoji15][emoji20] Sent from my PH-1 using BariatricPal mobile app

Bariatric surgery was a big mistake

If monitoring my diet for life means a healthy lifestyle and extra time spent with my family then so be it. I made myself unhealthy with the food that I chose to over indulge in. I am currently 12 days post op from my bypass and I do not regret it. I spent my mother's day on a liquid diet (Optifast) and Memorial Day, I spent recovering from my bypass and on a pureed diet. I've studied this surgery for the past 10 years, contemplating until I was at my highest weight, miserable and unable to play with my kids. 18 months ago I began my journey to get healthy. I lost 85 pounds on my own but with a high BMI and still morbidly obese, I joined a Bariatric management program and worked through it and got my bypass. I'm clinging to every extra moment that I'll have with my family. I've enjoyed all the unhealthy crap, so on to find healthy stuff that still tastes good and share these new eating habits with my kids. To each there own, but I'm embracing it!
