Reeneea, What kind of chicken are you eating? Chicken broth, chicken breast....baked or grilled? I would be way more scared to try chicken then the beans...the beans went down way to well for me....in fact tonight around 10 i told my husband that i wanted an exray because i dont even feel like i have a band....i mean at sometimes i feel full really fast and other times i feel like i could eat a five course meal....i just hope that i can hold on to my willpower until i get my first fill on july 6th........and then that fill may not even be enuf....who knows....sometimes i dont know what to think. *****Good Luck To All The People getting banded this week.....my thoughts and prays are with you******

Cutie.....My hunger has been back since last week.....today I put a whole can of veggie soup in a blender with extra water and it was wonderful....added a lil zatarians seasoning ...it was liquid but thicker and i new in my mind that i was having potatoes, peas, carrots .....it actually filled me up for longer than an hour. I may have 3 oz of my red beans tonight for supper and some smashed up green beans. Did you know that watermelon 1/16 of a slice has 25 grams of sugar...thats 2 cups.....i have been eating that in moderation.

June 5th bandsters...how much weight have you lost in one week? I am down 11 lbs....wish it was more.

Barbara, Thanks for the information....i did try the beans a day early but this is how my diet is suppose to follow: Day 1 Clear Liquids (32-64 ounces per day) Day 2 Same as day 1 may add protein...40-70 grams a day...Start chewable vitamins and Metanx and continur clear liquids Day 3 Add full liquids, V8 juice , thin cream soups, and yogurt (low fat and no sugar added) Same for Day 4 Day 5-6 Add applesauce, pudding, smoothies and bananas Day 7 Add oatmeal, well cooked veggies (green beans and carrots), veggie soup, and legumes(beans) well cooked. (NO GRITS, RICE, PASTA OR PEANUT BUTTER) Days 8-10 Can continue all items from days 1-7 and can now add soft boiled and scrambles eggs, cottage cheese and canned fruits, and baked potato. ( try adding lo-fat cheese to eggs and potatoes for extra flavor) Days 11-12 Can now slowly add fresh fruits....Chew well, eat slowly and continue protein supplement..ALWAYS CHOOSE PROTEIN FIRST! Days 14-15 SLOWLY add baked fish, tuna ( with no fat mayo), toast or crackers, SMALL amount of rice, pasta, vegtables (except : asparagus, celery and corn) can add whole grain cereal (granola bars and protein bars) Days 16-55 All of the above.......and now you should be ready to try baked turkey and chicken and salads. Day 56 You can now move on to ground beef, then gradually add roast beef, ham and sausage. STEAK should be last !!! GOLDEN RULES: Eat until comfortable....NOT FULL. Choose Protein 1st. Eat slowly and chew well. Dont drink 15 minutes before or 1 hour after meals. Liquids will not satisfy hunger. Exercise daily. GOALS: Protein 50 - 70 grams/day 48-64 oz/fluid per day I guess everybody's doctor is different.....but i did try fish to early and it was uncomfortable so i am following my diet that the nutritionist gave me. But Barbara I will definitely be careful and listen to my new stomach and how these new foods make me feel. Thanks so much....Cindy

Good Afternoon!!!! I had a really great day....finally got out of the house for the better part of the day....My family and I went to church and then we went eat lunch with some friends at a seafood restaurant......that was pretty difficult.....but i sorta cheated a bit.....i had a piece of baked fish and some red beans.....it was the BEST baked fish and red beans i have ever eaten in my life.....it all went down pretty well. I figured i wanst doing to much harm since tomorrow i will be able to eat veggies and beans. I just cant wait until i have proper restriction and know that 4 to 6 ounces will do me in. ****GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE BANDSTERS OF THIS COMING WEEK....YOUR IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS****

Sissi..... i dont think that i have overfilled my pouch...i havent felt that uncomfortable.....i just have a real full feeling.....but not to where i feel extensive pain.......i am sticking to full liquids...i dont like any of the creamy soups...so i just do broth, pudding, jello and thats about it.....sunday my calendar says that i can have some well cooked beans and veggies or veggie soup. Of course i will mash everything up really good cause i dont want to have that PBing thing they talked about on here......my energy level is still kinda of low......i get tired pretty quick.....middle of back bothers me after standing up for a while....gas is getting a little bit better....never had pains in my shoulder......guess we will learn as we go
-
How do you know where your port is? I can't feel mine i just know that my left side is very tender.
-
Reeneea and Cutiern.....does it feel uncomfortable for you to take deep breaths? It was bothering me until i finally made myself burp now its not that bad.....i use to be able to burp all the time now it is very hard to do. I dont think i am gonna do the potatoes again....think i will stick to pudding and milk for now.
-
Cutiern....I dont know exactly what i am suppose to be feeling....but just now i ate about 3 oz of mushy mushy potatoes in chicken broth....which was heaven compared to just broth and jello. But after i ate the mushy potatoes i got this sensation in my chest almost like i couldnt breathe very well.....is that my stomach still being swollen? I know all my liquids went down like it was nothing.......Now i feel like i just ate a whole thanksgiving turkey.....but i have also been drinking water and tea with my food and forgot i wasnt suppose to do that. This is so confusing....lol
-
3 days post-op and i am feeling hungry....like i could eat a regular meal....anyone else feel this way.......guess my swelling didnt last long
-
Hi everyone.....Was banded yesterday ....feeling pretty good.....sore on my left side and sort of uncomfortable when i breathe in deep. They make us use that lil breathing machine have to do it four times a day....spirometer i think. I dont really feel restricted...guess maybe because i am taking all liquids but tomorrow i finally get some cream of chicken and cream of celery. Cant wait.....Some people say they dont feel like eating but i do....it would prolly make me puke if i ate too much. Well glad everyone else that was banded yesterday or before are doing well.....I want RESTRICTION!!!
